They had s disagreement when he was tired and ill. He doesn’t say what ticked her off.

He has been “patient” with her. Like “tolerant,” this is a word that indicates unexpressed or poorly repressed resentment. He hates something about her that he “puts up with” but counts every occurrence, every minute, every transgression she makes.

“I was back with 5 hours to spare and no one was even dressed yet” — well no shit Sherlock whatever event you’re talking about doesn’t happen for five hours yet.

He talks about selling records. That she stopped coming to events (record shows? probably she’s like a booth babe plus free labor).

The picture shows a box in the shape of a coffin with “Til death us do part” on it. Might be cute if she’s into that kind of thing, but is she?

The ring doesn’t look impressive. Probably the one she least disliked at his price point.

The fact that he has to emphasize that he "did not cheat, nor did I ever raise my voice or lay a finger on her" is very telling.

He wants to do all that but hold himself back. Yet his silent, seething anger is probably showing. No wonder the girl is "overwhelmed" - her instincts is screaming like mad telling her to run.

This doesn’t make any sense. Im not seeing what could have made her entire family so upset. Like why did he get yelled at by her entire family? And why did they get her stuff? He isn’t saying what he did that made them angry enough to turn from “let’s go to this wedding together” to “gtfo of our life forever”. She went from a partner that would help to a spoiled child in minutes. But earlier he said that he had to pay more because her job didn’t pay much. What? I don’t get it. This makes no sense.

Edit to add: My last dude told me explicitly that he never put hands on his ex and rarely raised his voice. In the couple of fights we got into in just the three months we were together, he said some of the most meanest spirited shit I’ve ever had someone say to me. He would put words in my mouth and use them to spiral into petulant comments. He also gaslit the fuck out of me when he was acting shady about his phone, begging me to trust him (spoiler: found p0rn). And when we broke up, he oscillated between pleading for me not to leave him and saying “Well you did this and this, humans are able to forgive”.

So in conclusion, never trust that a man will not fight dirty just because he doesn’t raise his voice or God forbid, hit you.

So they were never actually engaged. He asked her to move in. She wouldn't move in without a commitment, aka, engagement. They pick out the ring but he hasn't proposed. She wants her family's blessing first. And he's an alcoholic or worse who promises to do things and never does. My soon to be ex husband went on tinder and then when I made him tell his parents he let me take half the blame by not fully taking it himself. “Takes two to tango.” When his parents found out the actual truth (I told his sister) they told him it “wasn’t a big deal unless he acted on it.” Like what!? He also told his sister that “we had an open relationship at one point” to soften the blow which is not true. He was just pornsick and pushed me into it. Anyway his parents can’t figure out why I won’t talk to them. Delusional! And as for my husband.. he’s trying to “change” and win me back. Lol! Guess what he got me for Valentine’s Day? Our wedding anniversary? Jack shit! 🤡 he actually thinks me planning dinners out (with our children) counts as a date and can win me back. Still forgets everything I ask of him and let’s me do all the planning/mental labor. Even though all my stuff is packed he’s convinced I won’t leave bc I haven’t yet.
