Race and location( especially for men) in dating us not talked about enough. Dependant on what race you are and where you are you could literally go from being an incel to having an abundance of options.

I think the lack of societal flexibility for men is a massively undercovered topic.

We’ve generally come to accept more range in women’s social roles, while still pressuring men to be the same as they would’ve been 50 years ago.

Part of the blame goes to the mods. I think mods will generally ignore nuance which essentially mean discussion about deeper concepts is just a recipe to get yourself banned because a mod misunderstood your prediction as a threat or your descriptive statement as a prescriptive one etc... I got banned one time because I implied that a bad thing was natural. These kind of discussions happen so rarely that the mods don't even know what a naturalistic fallacy is.

Part of the blame also goes to the pua/accountability crowd. That group is not trying to establish what the problem is or even if there is a solution...they are looking for how to optimize for their personal situation and that usually involves just trying to mimick what successful men are doing which doesn't require a whole lot of understanding of anything...understanding often gets in the way because it can eat at their motivation/ability to continue doing whatever women want.

And like always, part of the blame goes to the pointless people that are just here to look at the weirdos. Those pointless people make it much harder to have a proper discussion because whenever there's something that sounds funny to their childish tastes they interrupt the conversation to virtue signal that they don't think like that. Most people are going to be influenced by that kind of behavior and will keep their opinions basic enough that they aren't the ones that stick out and get hit with the "haha's".

The moderation issue partly comes down to wanting to keep the sub, the pua/accountability crowd actually believes in what they are saying so it's fair enough even if they ruin discussions. The pointless people are just pointless. (unless you're a salesman at which point they are the most valuable people because you can get your upvotes trough appealing to them).

Being very cheesy, I think love and being in love is not discussed enough as influential factor. Many people here come across as if they never have been in love (which is fair enough) and I feel this really hampers their understanding of how relationships can and should work.

Basically anything that suggests government policy and spending could work to provide conditions for young people getting to know each other easier without actually being specifically coercive of women to date men is going to always fall flat on its face because the guys here tend to be "my tax dollars" types. Walkable neighbourhoods, community planning, regular community events subsidised to be low cost to help reduce the cost of dates and socialising, community programs so maybe you might meet someone at a subsidised course...it isn't taboo so much as you mention it then nobody replies, you get the sound of crickets.

We're systematically ignoring the role of government in providing appropriate community conditions. They'll whine for hours about the cost of taking girls on dates...you tell them a list of stuff that is genuinely cheap or free....theyll say there is nothing like that locally and then have nothing useful to say if you suggest maybe that should be fixed and they should demand of government that it be fixed.

The “men don’t like smart women” brigade is the same as the “women don’t like nice guys” rhetoric. I don’t think it’s taboo necessarily, just that I probably won’t have many women agree with me.

I said this on that comment from that post the other day ago, where the woman claimed men don’t like smart women and only want hot women. One day we’ll have a real discussion about the toxicity of women like this. They didn’t get attention for their looks, so spend all their time trying to convince everyone they’re smart. They run down their list of achievements like they’re reading off their resume because it’s all they have. Most of them are average to less than average looking and feel their “smarts” should somehow make up for being unattractive. And one day we’ll discuss how as much as we like to protect younger girls from these older men, there’s women we need to protect them from too. I work in STEM, and let me tell you, the unattractive “look at me I’m smart I’m in STEM unlike other girls” are some of the most dangerous people to other women. I’ve watched these women target attractive younger girls, make snide comments, make fun of them, be absolutely cruel and do things to hold them back if they even get a whiff of those girls being attractive to men.

We talk about the toxicity of these nice guys. These socially inept entitled men, and yes tons of them work in STEM, but one day we’ll have a real discussion about the toxicity of the average to less than average “smart woman” who made it in the boys club but is still bitter it’s not enough to get her laid. When you throw race into that (which we can’t here and for good reason. Ole girl who made the post was calling me all kinds of racial slurs when I called her out on her bullshit lmao. Yea that’s right, your ex broke up with you because you’re smart not because you’re an entitled insufferable bitch no one can stand to be around). But if we do throw race in there, the convo gets even funner. These women are always one failed relationship away from joining FDS who’s gonna tell them they deserve to be treated like queens despite being toxic, bitter, unattractive femcels.

I work for one of the top tech companies in the world. This has never hindered any dating experiences for me. In fact I’ve had some great date convos regarding it. I started in June and have been asked out 7 times. I worked for another very well known one before that, and was asked out there too. This whole men hate career minded smart women in stem is bullshit and an utter cop out. You’re likely not as smart as you think you are (much like nice guys!) , or it’s all you have going for you and you like shoving it in people’s faces to over compensate.

I have unpopular Olin about FDS too but this is long enough and we’ll leave it for another day.
