Listen guys: If your wife lies to you for five years about being sterile, and aborts three of your children without so much as consulting you about it, you have no right to be angry and you need to be more concerned with how she feels.

And really, you should feel guilty. After all, when you were dating, didn't you tell her children were a dealbreaker? I mean, saying, "If you want kids someday, we should break up," is basically the same as saying, "If you get accidentally pregnant someday, you better get an abortion immediately or I'm going to dump your sorry ass." Clearly, you gave her no choice.

At least, according to r/relationships.

Edit to add: Well now my jimmies are rustled, because I seriously cannot believe the amount of people defending the wife here in the r/mensrights thread. Are you people trolls? Are you misguided MRA's letting your own white knight tendencies blind you? What's the deal here?

Men have almost none of the reproductive rights that they should have. If you seriously think just merely being told when you've become a father and not being lied to about it is too much of a right to ask of your wife, you may want to reevaluate whether or not you actually support the rights of men.

And don't give me any shit about she was scared that he'd leave her. As I said above, "I don't want children" doesn't translate to "I will turn into a deadbeat scumbag and dump you if you get accidentally pregnant." If you think it does, you may want to ask yourself why you're so desperate to speculate on the meaning of the man's words in such a negative light in favor of the woman who has definitively lied to her husband for years.

I'm pretty disgusted with some of you. This really ought to be a no brainer.

Edit: And the amount of infantilizing of this woman is insane as well. "She was scared," and "she thought she was doing the right thing" and "she just didn't communicate."

Really? REALLY? Is that really what you guys think? You guys are adults (some/most of you anyway). Would you do what she did in her shoes? Are you able to look at her situation, regardless of what you think her motives are, and go, "Yeah, she clearly did the wrong thing."

Then why the fuck do you think a grown ass woman is not capable of realizing the same?

You are not holding her behavior and decisions to the same standard that you would if she were a man and if you thought about it you'd realize it.

Edit yet again: User Tammylan just gave me a great idea to illustrate the bias some of you have and are seemingly oblivious to.

Dennis and Marie are a married couple. Before they got married, Marie expressed that she wanted kids and not having them was a dealbreaker. Dennis did not want kids, but decided Marie was worth it and agreed to have kids.

Two years into their marriage, Dennis somehow discovers at the doctor that he has testicular cancer and is sterile. He will never father children. Although he never wanted children, he is devastated at what this means for his marriage and worried about his cancer and his life.

Dennis, worried about Marie's reaction, decides to lie to Marie and not tell her that he is sterile and undergo periodic treatments behind her back. He lies for the next five years, all the while letting her think that children will be forthcoming. He figures he can spare her feelings and eventually she'll want to adopt when it becomes clear they're having problems conceiving.

Marie eventually finds out when Dennis' cancer takes small a turn for the worse and he confesses everything.

I think it's fair to say that this is not the time for Marie to unload her anger on Dennis, but are you people really going to sit here and say Marie has no right to be angry and that we should all understand and empathize with Dennis' insane decisions?

I doubt it. Now hopefully you see your bias.

Last edit: You know... If you had asked me yesterday if r/mensrights would support the idea of a man having his children (or potential children, for you semantic whiners) aborted by his wife without even being consulted, I would've sworn on my life they'd never do that, that r/mensrights supports the reproductive rights of father as its highest cause.

Today I was proven very, very wrong.

Most of you, from the comments, understand how wrong and insane what this woman did was. But there is a shocking, disgusting and sad number of you who apparently don't. Simply because she's a woman and not a man.

The fact that even this subreddit is infected with this kind of gynocentric/feminist bias and white knightery is really disheartening. If I didn't think the idea of a men's rights movement was a lost cause before, well... I sure as shit do now.
