I'm nearly afraid to interact with women entirely at this point tbh..I met a girl recently and got involved with her, once her true self started to come out and I saw all the red flags I slowly broke it off and tried to respectfully tell her I wasn't interested anymore. She accused me of sexual harassment and rallied all of her friends against me making up a bunch of lies. She even got me banned from the local bars we used to go to. Even though I cleared my name by even showing the managers and whoever would listen the texts of her bragging about 'ruining my life' for rejecting her. They still all took her side and I'm banned from going to bars I've been frequenting for many years (bars she never went to before). Just because they didn't want any drama.

Fucking scary ass time we live in.

PS: She's not banned, only I am. Because according to the owner of one of the bars she can't initiate violence but I can, even if I did nothing wrong.

It's not just in case of CPR, generally, if you see any woman in any need, be it lift from a deserted place or getting robbed, just walk away. Trust me, you will be better off than trying to save any woman. Help only the women in your life.

I don't think the point here is whether there is a reasonable chance of a false accusation (there probably isn't).

The point with this statistic is that the societal change of recent years (#Metoo) has made men, who are otherwise naturally confident, doubt themselves to a level that they are no longer confident enough to help someone in need. And even if this moment of doubt just lasts a moment, it could be a moment to long and someone might die.

This should be a waking call.

Healthcare pro checking in: rescue breathing, (i.e. mouth-to-mouth) is no longer a part of layman's CPR. All you gotta do is chest compressions, which if done correctly, often result in fractured ribs. Ain't no one gonna confuse that with sexual assault.

Reminds me of a post or comment another guy made on here a while back.

He was saying that he doesn't recommend helping women on the side of the road who have flat tires or other car troubles anymore.

I told the guy he had the wrong solution to the problem, but now that I think about it, there's also something else we both should have considered.

Rear-facing dash cams with audio recording - buy them. Buy the fuck out of them.

This was based on a survey of 54 paid participants in an online study - source. This is hardly an "epidemic" as some other commenters have written.

Since false reports of sexual assault are not more common than false reports of other kinds of crime, this result might say more about public misperceptions than it does the actual concerns of a bystander.

I agree with what you are saying. I don’t really see the point though in spreading these types of headlines around. Sure, there is no doubt that some people are actually crazy enough see someone administering cpr and cry assault, but what good does spreading the headline do other than make men think that they shouldn’t provide cpr and potentially let someone die.

Like you said, it’s unlikely that a court would not see right through that accusation. I also wonder how many men actually pause to think to themselves, “could I be charged with assault for this?” Most likely if someone is trained in cpr they aren’t going to avoid giving it to someone who needs it for fear of accusations.

I don’t know anything about the study, but it’s not passing as anything remotely reliable when it comes to real life situations, in my opinion.
