Contemporary Women shall be glad porn exists. It is not that porn is good, but rather porn is a necessary evil, a distraction and a libido control mechanism.

Sure, women may find men to be cheaper to them as mend don't need to do much to get an orgasm, only access to internet, but the benefits are greater: less rape, fewer men creeping around, fewer men asking them out (which they hate if the guy is not at their social level, women are classist), etc.

Without porn, it would be like in the past, men would be far more violent if they did not have enough money for prostitution. Monogamy would be enforced by the state for stability, but at the cost of individual freedom from both men and women (yes, men also have huge responsibilities in an enforced monogamy, they have to provide and be responsible for what the family does).

Personally, I don't think I will stop watching porn ever, even if it has some benefits to leave it, it is not worth the sexual frustration or the effort to get women. Some men have it easier by being taller, better looking, etc. but that is not my case, and it is not the case for most single men.

I would have had a much better and more purposeful life without porn. Not only did it wrack me with insecurities about my body, specifically me penis, but it also shaped what I thought sex looked like in a negative way.

Without porn, I'd have at least not worried so much about my penis size, would have let sex happen probably more organically in terms of how the actual act went, and would have wasted far less time masturbating when I could have been doing other more productive things.

Every body type for a woman can be found in porn so I dont get that insecurity part. If you as a woman want yo see someone who has the same body type as you you easily can. And I honestly belive that generally there are more expectations for men in sex than women. My opinion towards porn is very split. On the one hand it is a good way to distract yourself from life and a good way for horny young men to blow off steam. Especially those who won't be able to get hookups or sex in the foreseeable future. I disagree with the point that it prevents sexual assault, since if you want to commit assault, you will do it regardless of any alternatives. Some Porn is also a good way to learn sex ed and things about women or men you did not know about. In addition you may also be able to learn techniques that are important in dating, sounds dumb I know, and techniques that are important for sex as a whole. I am speaking about things like oral or how to put on a condom. Trust me kids today, are very lacking in terms of sex ed. They are hooking up early and children/teenagers getting pregnant is always a recipe for disaster.

On the other hand. Porn rots your brain. There have been many cases of porn induced erectile disfunction. In addition to showing unrealistic body images and unrealistic sex in general. It also, this depends on the porn, promotes harmful and sometimes dangerous fetishes.

In my opinion a ban would be too much but there should be better education regarding the risks of porn.

In terms of my relationship, the same. I don't watch porn nor does my partner. We're able to explore our sexualities and kinks without it. We just come in expecting a good time and like each other's bodies. In terms of society at large, I'd expect to be treated a little better, a little more kindly, and viewed led through a purely sexual lens (whether that's acceptance or rejection). If come across less people thinking weird porn things about my sexuality like I must like threesomes. But I can't imagine it'd change my life entirely as it isn't like porn created problems so much as exacerbated them. In a sense porn is something like social media and internet interactions in general. It gives one an impression of reality, rather than reflecting reality. That impression is skewed. It can be also a virtual substitute for real sex, or more importantly for the real interactions you have that lead to sex. You know, life stuff. Like social media and the internet can provide some contact with others and can be or seem beneficial to people who struggle to interact in person, it's easy to let it become a crutch that you can never put down. That may be addiction in some cases, but it may be more a habit in others. A not especially healthy one.

Porn in and of itself isn't a major issue. The sheer level of access to porn absolutely is, and we're seeing it already and it's generally bad new for everyone. From what it seems, young people in particular have never been in a world where it isn't on tap, so they never get to distinguish between fantasy and reality. I mean they will obviously, but it takes a lot longer and a lot more poor and even dangerous experiences and situations to learn it. So both young men and women are learning that porn is sex. Porn isn't sex. The sheer amount of younger men with ED and other issues including porn addiction is astounding. Women too. And of course it's also another readily available, and openly encouraged way for men to self medicate instead of getting help for mental health issues.
