It may be that humans are becoming more and more expendable, since they exist in much larger quantities today than they ever did throughout recorded history. But even when the population was smaller, it seemed that humans, as a whole, were largely considered expendable - especially those who were considered "other" or outsiders.

In more recent times, some human societies have adopted principles such as "liberty, fraternity, equality," and have championed the cause of human rights and civil liberties. It relates to the idea that "every human life has value" and that every human being has rights that are inalienable and sacrosanct.

Of course, it took a lot of human suffering and two world wars before people started to actually take these ideals seriously, but in more recent years, I've noticed a trend where people seem to think of these notions as impractical or too naive, given the true nature of humanity. For example, one might see constant references to "alpha" and "beta" traits applied to humans, implying that the social hierarchy is the result of a natural process at work, which appears to be an appeal to natural law.

To be sure, the industrial revolution has been a major game-changer, as human brute strength can't compete with machines. Some people reacted against machines back in the day, such as the Luddites, but there were also others who lamented the rise of machines and the pitfalls of industrialization. But by the same token, certain rules had to be imposed upon humanity in general, as well as reforms at the political and governmental level, which is why concepts of human rights were further developed and expanded, along with the so-called "welfare state."

Ideally, though, it doesn't have to be that humans are considered obsolete. If we value concepts such as human rights, then we could someday perhaps have some kind of AI-run society where machines do all the work, and humans can just lounge about in luxury as the new "upper class." Of course there may not be enough resources to allow for that on a global scale, and there may also be environmental issues to work out.

A lot of things would have to happen before we get to the point where humans are obsolete, but since it seems acceptable to already think of humans in such terms, then we're on our way there.

This is the most important thing we lose in the gender equality debates, is the reality that we are lower caste beings reincarnated on the bottom rung or middle to bottom rung of the artificially created ladder.

If you're born wealthy your options are tremendous and if you're born wealthy and hot it's like being a god comparatively.

I could speak on this a lot but one of the main reasons the gender debate matters here imo is that women are being propped up as special and society caters to them at large. Media, activist movements, fuckin chocolate bar wrappers, women make the majority of consumer decisions and spend the most money on frivolous bullshit. Add to that disatisfaction in relationships and wavering levels of disposable income you have people desperate, wasteful and hating eachother.

So from the perspective of those of us at the lower/mid lower rungs of this system women appear to be middle management to the superior elite. They shit on the caste below them (men and women alike, rest assured that privileged women have no real sympathy for women below them) and clamber for more power greedily.

Society. Caters. To. Women. We all slave to make the money that women spend on their own vanity and further empower corporate overlords.

You can see a microcosm of this with things like OF and shit where women making thousands of dollars a week will belittle and abuse men who can't really afford to be there to give them more money. These men need to be accountable for their own actions of course but they are getting hustled and drained because they are desperate and can't reel it in. (been there lmao).

They use the money to live life with their boyfriends and society thinks the siphoning of resources from those who have less via manipulation of scarcity is totally ok.

I mean... We are all here spending money on stupid shit so... It must be on us right? It's not like humans can be easily manipulated to do stupid fucking shit they wouldn't normally otherwise.

The men and women on the top don't give a fuck. The women in the middle create fake crisis which distracts liberal virtue signalling idiots from making policies that will benefit the population in need because they are too busy pandering to the manufactured out rage by the pampered "strong and independent roaring women" of the upper middle class. Some of the most privileged women in the world who just want more. It's disgusting.

Bro when I lived in a college dorm my female neighbours would knock on my door all the time to open a jar for them. Men still do a ton of physical labour and even get elected by women to make decisions for them. If all men disappeared over night from earth while women simultaneously gained the ability to produce offspring with each other there would be a massive collapse before a new caste of dykish women with manly traits emerged over the next hundreds of years to do the jobs men did before.

As the world's economy, cost of living, and work life balance gets worse, a certain class is able to fair better. And it just so happens that women are more likely to be in that class.

This is simply because the way the world works. The world isn't the survival of the fittest, take what you can, build yourself up by your bootstraps environment that it was in even recent history. Everything is owned by someone else. Your homes, your jobs, your land, your resources. What we have is dependant on what those in charge are willing to give you.

Success isn't about skill and merit in our modern world. It's about proving how much you can bow to the system. How friendly you are. How little a risk you are. The best and brightest are passed over for the prettiest that dazzle the higher ups at meet and greets.

College isn't what it used to be. It's not about being smarter or more capable. It's about sitting down and hitting the books. Usually for many hours beyond a full time job. Giving yourself to the system while neglecting the rest of your life. I believe this is the main reason women fair better in education. That they don't suffer as much in neglecting the rest of their lives while they study. So much of their lives, love, friendship, fun, shelter, is provided directly to them for nothing. While men have to add that to their list of struggles while they study.

Even companies don't run like they used to. Aggressive competition, cut throat business tactics, sourcing for the best and brightest employees to make the best products. The beat employees are just an easy fit that people want around because they're pretty and fun.

The result is people find it harder to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps. To be successful you need to be born wealthy enough to build your titles and trophies while you're young. And then be attractive enough to make everyone in higher circles tolerate you. Or, you can wait at the finish line and date and marry those who've already succeeded.

I wouldn’t say being “valued” for physical labor and cannon fodder is being valued, and I wouldn’t say being “valued” for reproduction (especially when childbirth was very dangerous) is being valued either. Most humans have not really been valued by society in any meaningful way for most of history.

Nowadays people are less essential for what their bodies can provide, but I’d say we place more intrinsic value on human life than for most of the past. I mean people used to be okay with little children working in horrible conditions 14 hrs a day, and sending teen boys to die in wars. Life was hard and short for most people. It could be that we had a sort of golden age for the past 50 years or so and things won’t continue that way, but still.

We dont need 95% of men anymore.

This is a very weird claim. Who are "we"? Society as a whole? Men are about half of society. So now the claim is that society don't need almost half of society? Those 95% of men are (part of) society. Do you not need yourself?

In history a large percent of children died before they reached adulthood, so back then a lot more children were "needed" to maintain the human population. So now society "needs" less children, do we need less women? Has the value of women also decreased? Has everyones value decreased now people depend less directly on each other in current society? Does society make itself useless? And is there any person who society really needs, as in, is there any person without whom society could no longer exist?

i mean, yeah, that's why we should strive for a humanist, flat, and equal society. stop venerating only protection and physical strength, there is value in being a well-rounded person who appreciates the arts or is intellectual. all these greek statues that chuds have in their profile pictures were men who are almost certainly deified and likely weren't as ripped as their simulacra imply, and most certainly WERE well-read and had very good intellectual chops.

that's ANOTHER area where modern men have chosen to decline in. one can be both physical AND intellectual, one arguably helps the other - but as long as we choose to defend this dog eat dog society, there will be losers and there will be a race for the top. there doesn't have to be.
