Imagine you're a new driver for Uber and you're excited to start driving and getting paid and you get this hysterical woman who shoots you because she thought she was being kidnapped.

It wouldn't be that much of a stretch to assume that the hysterical feminist panic against men contributed to this horrible situation where this man, who is the sole provider of his family, is currently dying in life support over the completely delusional assumption of a sick woman who deemed it appropriate to murder him over some easily explained misunderstanding.

Daniel Piedra Garcia (52) is currently on life support with little chance to survive after being shot multiple times, including the head. Even if he does survive that man will never have the same life ever again as neurologists treating him have said there is nothing more they can do.

Phoebe Copas (the shooter) 48 is currently facing felony aggravated assault charges as is set to $1 million bond. Her explanation was that she saw a sign saying "Juarez, Mexico" on the highway and immediately assumed he was kidnapping her.

Daniel Piedra Garcia's niece has commented about the panic of human trafficking along the border and suspects it was a contributing factor for the shooting.

Keep in mind... "The document said the location where the vehicle crashed was not in close proximity of a bridge, port of entry, or any other area with immediate access to travel into Mexico." So the location of the shooting was nowhere near the border side of Mexico...

"His passenger shot him in the head because she believed he was kidnapping her and taking her to Juarez, which was not the case,” the driver’s wife, Ana stated in an online posting.

“He is the sole provider for our family and hadn’t been able to work for some time now due to injuring his knee,” his wife explained. “He was so excited to finally be able to provide some income for his family just for this tragedy to occur.” Ana added...

There is also no record of a call made to emergency services prior to the shooting... She allegedly took photos and sent them to her boyfriend to have him pick her up from the scene of the incident before making the call to 911 when police arrived and promptly arrested her and charged her.

Uber statement below...

"We are horrified by the rider’s actions. Violence is not tolerated on the Uber platform and we banned the rider as soon as we were made aware of what occurred. Our thoughts are with Mr. Garcia and his loved ones, and have been in touch with his family. Our Public Safety Team stands at the ready to assist police as needed.”
