How much do you usually spend on dates and what do you typically do?

Ice-skating. Definitely go ice-skating! It's fun, it's a massive DHV and it doesn't cost that much. I'm not that good at traditional dates, I just invite people to come do stuff with me that I would be doing anyways.

If you have a few bucks to spare, take a girl to Target. Give her x amount of dollars and give yourself the same amount. Play a game where you have to buy something for each other with the money and meet back at a spot in 20min or so. It doesn't have to be a lot, I once did $5 each but you can go lower. You can be texting and calling each other while shopping if you want just to kind of bullshit around and flirt. Last time I did that it went REALLY well, the girl fucking ate that shit up. Coffee is pretty safe bet but it's kind of over-done and doesn't really offer any opportunity to escalate but I'll do it once in awhile for a quick date or to lead into more activities that I have planned for later. Just walking around a downtown area can be great if you know your city well enough. I live near Ashland, OR so there's a bunch of little shops and a large park that are great for just exploring and walking around.

I'm a broke ass student but I get away with just buying them an ice cream/coffee or sharing a spliff with them. I make it a rule to not spend much money on a girl I'm dating until I'm one month in and satisfied with the security of the relationship.

I usually limit dates to less than $20. I like bowling, mini-golf, coffee, batting cages, stargazing, going to a barcade, and maybe hiking depending on the woman. You can even just go for a walk. The key is to know when places have specials and use sites like groupon and livingsocial to help you find good deals on shit you normally wouldn't pay that much for.

Subsequent dates usually cost even less because you do the same things as list above, but for less time. By the second date you should be able to pretty easily move things to your place. "I have to show you (insert movies/show/band/something you own)." "Let's go have drinks and talk at my place."

I like to cook dinner with her!! It's a great activity you can do together, you can get creative, the chances for kino are great (my kitchen is pretty small, so being in a tight place with her the whole time helps a lot ;) and it shows DHV. I'm also very passionate about my cooking, and I think a lot of girls like it when I show that.

And when you cook something it always tastes great, and you just accomplished something together. Just go easy on the garlic/onions!

I used to buy dinner and drinks for every girl I would go on a first date with, but a lot of them didn't work out and it just leaves you broke and sad. I meet girls online after talking with them on the phone a couple times and I always thought dinner and drinks was the best way to build comfort and escalate kino. It works sometimes, but it's not worth it overall. Now I just take girls for coffee or a drink and then bounce them to another place if I'm having a good time with her. If not, I'll just cut it short after the coffee. It's saved me a lot of time and money because spending $50-$60 on girls who act like bitches can make any guy depressed.

The date after that, I took her too tepanyaki, spended €100 that day.

I choose resturaunts that serve food that they've probably never had before ( i.e. there's a really good Ethiopian restaurant in my town, it's my go-to) It puts you completely in the driver's seat because they have no fucking clue what to order. It will take her way the fuck out of her comfort zone, without her feeling all that uncomfortable. Any negative anticipation is directed towards the food ("I'm not sure if I'm going to like this food") and not towards you ("I'm not sure if I'm going to like this guy"). The key here is that the food has to be damn good, it can't just be weird.

I'm not sure if this makes sense to anyone, I'm kinda stoned.

Don't do meals, don't do movies. Do coffee or supper (desserts, ice-cream, finger food, etc.). Go for cheaper alternatives like going places, sightseeing, sports, etc.

I don't ever pay for first dates. Gender roles have literally no basis in anything rational. You split the check on whatever you do until you're sharing a bank account or unless you know she's paying for the next event... which will be an equal split in the long run.

Why go on dates?

Go buy a Veuve Elise champagne (it's 7 dollars). Invite her over to your place to watch a movie. Say the dvd in the living room is broken, so you have to watch the movie in your room. She'll take her shoes off and get on your bed. Success rate in this senario? I'd say somewhere along the lines of 99% to 100%.

look if you understand the purpose of a date, you will understand that it actually doesnt need to cost anything. The purpose of a date is to get to know a person you met to see if you relate to each other on a similar level. if you can understand that concept you with find anything (any activity that will allow you to fill in awkward moments with activity) will work.

Or pool. Pool is relatively cheap and interactive. You can move around and use your body language, touch etc. Pretty casual. Casual is the key.

Tonight, I spent 7,5 dollars in two tickets for the cinema (we watched Hope Springs and it was quite funny) plus 13 dollars in a casual dinner called "tapeo". I think 20 dollars is not much, just an acceptable amount so I don't look too stingy... I'm also a broke student (in fact, I only have a few more cents until next week).

assuming i am really interested in her:

first date : ~$120 (take her to a nice restaurant, pay the bill)
second date: <20$ (do something free like go on a night time hike, then go halfsies on some food / cheap entertainment with her)
third date: $20 do something at home with her
subsequent dates: $0 - $500 depending on what we do

if i find i am not interested in her midway through first date:

first date: $30-$40 awkwardly force her to split the tab with me
second date: hahahaha, you think i would really ask her on another date?
