Hey seddit, just wanted to share some tips since I have to manage my looks in order to make a living. I thought i'd share some tips. =)

Before you read: Looks will only get you in the door. Looks are NOT a replacement for game, nor self development. HOWEVER, women like all humans, tend to overlook a lot of things if you appear at least half competent most of the time. Since game is hard already, at least take it upon yourself to make it easier for yourself when you get out there.

Weight&Height:

-Can't change your height, but can help it grow, drink milk and lot's of physical activity. Men grow until at least 21! Even if you're not that tall, don't fret about it. As long as you're not insecure about it, you should have no problem.

-Weight loss has lots of myths and rumors. My personal recommendation is /r/keto. Keto is basically a diet in which you reduce daily Carbohydrate intake to less than 50 grams. Carbohydrates release insulin into your body which are inhibitors for weight loss. So a lack of carbohydrates means less insulin, which means a lot easier time losing weight. Eat real food such as meat, vegetables and fruits.

-Cardio&Weightlifting

Cardio is essential to keeping a strong healthy heart, and keeping your weight in check(don't just eat less, that's just detrimental to your body). Weightlifting tones your body and muscles and makes you much stronger and sharper. 4-5 days a week of cardio&weightlifting is enough for most people. Remember, consistency always triumphs intensity!

Face:

Most guys think that if you weren't born pretty, you can't be attractive looking. WRONG. First and foremost, eat LOTS of fruits. Just eat 2 apples a day. That will cover you in proficient vitamin C and will clear away most skin and facial problems. Things like acne are not necessarily related to your diet, however, it does help to eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. A primarily meat diet is fine and dandy and all, but your skin probably won't look the best. As for vegetables, I too am a picky eater, but try to get in as much greens as possible. I used to have great skin, then i started getting oily and breakouts on my skin. Which was easily solved by changing my diet to a much more fruit and vegetable focused diet.

Make Up: No you are not gay if you use make up

Ok, first and foremost, not only gay guys use make up, ok. Plenty of straight guys use it as well. Don't think this stuff is only for women ok. Plenty of public figures, salespeople, male models(like me) use make up daily. Second, a lot of guys suffer from skin problems and use things that damage their skin. Consult a dermatologist if you have a skin problem and are considering using makeup to cover blemishes or imperfections. Second, I personally recommend BB cream. BB cream is essentially an all-in-one cream, which consists of moisturizer, primer, sun-screen, skin-treatment, concealer, and foundation. All-in-one. For the price of one vial. Is it a miracle cream? No. But it saves you a lot of money and it's relatively cheap too. For most guys, you don't need a lot of it to look decent. Check out this video in case you are interested.

For those of you guys out there that are concerned about your skin or facial imperfections, BB cream is one of the best alternatives out there compared to expensive treatment sets. It's really cheap too(mine cost around $25 and i've been using it for months), and there is also an expensive version called CC cream which is really really nice.

Clothes:

If you want some advice from fellow male hipsters head on over to /r/malefashion now.

I personally find clothes to be the most expensive yet least time consuming. I don't know if it's because i usually shop for clothes at costco but that's just me. Anyway here's the thing about clothes coming from a male model.

The key to dressing nice, is to be slightly better dressed than average. Slightly? That's right. Slightly. If everyone's dressed casual and you have a suit and tie on, that's a big red flag, unless you had an interview or something afterwards. If you're going out to the local bar with your friends, and you have a blazer and the whole pimp suit going on that's a big no-no. If you're going to go to a coffee shop with a girl, and you have an ostrich coat on, that's a big no-no(unless you live in Russia in the winter). This does not mean that the printed shirt with "coca-cola" you've had since 5th grade will cut it for a date. The key is to be slightly better dressed than average. If it's a formal event, and you have a very suave tux jacket with a nice lapel, that's good fashion sense.

Price=/=Attractiveness

Fit=Attractiveness

Just because something is expensive does NOT mean it's worth buying for your wardrobe. Not to bash on high fashion, but the number of guys that make laugh hysterically while wearing their overpriced clothes is unreal. Basically, don't be this guy(no offense to the guy he's being paid to wear it probably)

The key here is cheap and fitting. That's it. I hate it when snobby girls who don't know a thing about fashion complain about how "cheap" H&M or GAP is. Clothes shouldn't matter what their brand is, or how much they cost. The key to fashion is how clothes are reflected on the person that wears them. Generally, if you don't have money to piss around, then stick to rational costs. However, keep this principle in mind:

It's better to have 1 great suit, then 10 poor suits.

Don't just buy from one brand either, mix and match, and create your own fashion style. =) Don't mind me while i go shop for clothes at costco....

Nails:

Ok hopefully by this point of time, most of you guys have stopped biting your nails ( I still do...i can't quit it...). But regardless, some of you guys work in rough environments which can deter the quality of your nails. It's generally recommended to keep your nails short and manicured(especially if you're working in sales). Even if you don't have the luxury of getting manicures, get them trimmed at the very least, you should be able to cut your own nails.

Shoes: So overlooked.

Shoes are actually more important than you think. I've had so many girls that compliment me for wearing something other than sneakers or vans. Please, Please, get yourself some decent pair of shoes (does not have to be pricey at all, just enough to get the look that you at least take care of yourself. It's alright if they're cheap, it's just i've seen too many times guys wear shoes that are equivalent of ugly as this:

My personal recommendation: Callitspring.com (Check out their clearance&sales sections) they have great prices and shoes come pretty decent quality for the price.

Hair:

Ok we're near the end of our make over list. I used to get a $6 haircut. + Tip that'd be 7. My dad wouldn't agree to pay any more than that. Then i moved out and went to a real salon and now pay around 35$+$10tip=$45 for my cut(keep in mind i live in Los Angeles where the average is $25). I cut my hair every 6-7 weeks. Now i'm not saying that all of you guys out there should pay $40+ for a decent haircut. However, it does make quite the difference. A real salon is probably going to charge anywhere around that price,(probably even more in New York City).

Don't take my word for it. Next time, just try out a professional hair stylist, and see the difference for yourself.

Watch:Optional, but definitely a +

Now with our smartphones we don't really have a need for watches. Yet there are so many women out there that are swooned by a guy with a watch. A watch is a timepiece of not only memorabilia, but also presents itself of responsibility, maturity, and dependability. A watch isn't necessarily required, but it never hurts to have one.

Oral Hygiene: Guys, please...

There's a really good tooth paste that you should buy, called Crest Whitening and Baking Soda. It's approximately 2 vials for $5 where I live, and works wonders. Just brush up often, 3 minutes minimum. Also, have you ever had to talk to someone with really bad breadth? Imagine how that girl feels when you're up in her face. Always have a mint strip gum handy. ALWAYS.

Perfume: Once again, optional but definitely a +++

At the very least don't stink. You're already above attractive if you smell decent. If you smell amazing, then you've already won her over mostly. Girls will almost always compliment a guy that smells nice, because so many guys don't take it upon themselves to make other people comfortable around them. A guy that takes care of himself in this department will always be open to invitation from the ladies. There's a lot of great brands of perfume and cologne out there, i personally recommend this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Yves-Saint-Laurent-Toilette-3-3-Ounces/dp/B0012RYDWG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1415516490&sr=8-1&keywords=yves+by+saint+laurent

Ok gents. It's a long process to gaming women, but if you're both mentally and physically prepared, you will have a mindset of invulnerability that will help you overcome your fears, your insecurities. As RSD Tyler put it, "It's not hard to act like James Bond, when you are James Bond."

Note: Getting a lot hate on the diet & fitness regiment area. Keep in mind that everything on this guide is subjective. Subjective as in, it worked for me, and it might work for you, or it might not, because some things work better for others. These are mere personal recommendations for a number of reasons, and while some of you may be into hardcore bodybuilding or such, it is not realistic to have that kind of same expectation of dedication for everyone. So I derived these recommendations from an easily approachable frame of mind

Keto is a diet that I advocate due to its simplicity(as in you don't have to have too much background knowledge to start off with) and the fact that once you get over the initial period of weakness (usually within the first two to four weeks), it's one of the most effective and simple diets out there that actually work. I'm not advocating this for every guy, as a lot of guys want to build muscle while losing fat, which is a completely different topic than what I am trying to address.

Now on the topic of physical fitness and weightlifting, I could go more in depth about this if I wanted to, but I resisted the urge because :

1.these kinds of debates always lead to countless arguing (as shown here already by numerous individuals)

2.Not all training regiments are equal, and not all people are qualified to talk about it the same

  1. What works for you doesn't work for everyone

So please keep the discussion constructive and somewhat objective to the main topic. We don't need any more keyboard warriors leaking from the bodybuiliding forums here.
