Can’t really picture my husband fighting anyone physically. I think pigs would fly first. I have dated men in the past who could but that was not something I cared about or was attracted to past being 21..

if im being honest i like a man who has the ability to fight and could theoretically defend himself and me if necessary. and i do tend to like men who carry, which is an interesting pairing considering how non confrontational i am myself.

but it’s not something i specifically seek out.

what’s just as, if not more important tho alongside that is that he’s not the type to be itching for a fight. i like a man that has the ability to defend, but isn’t trying to start trouble.

Second: I suppose it's an added benefit that my husband could fight if needed but a more attractive and desirable quality is the fact that he doesn't start fights or seek out physical altercations. He uses his words to resolve conflicts, like a mature adult.

If I had to choose, I'd rather my husband be weak than be prone to fighting. I have no interest in spending time with someone who decides primarily with their amygdala instead of their prefrontal cortex. Men who think violence is the best approach typically don't know how to handle their emotions well, don't have the skills to address conflicts without resorting to the physical, and are more likely to struggle to manage disagreements with a spouse or child in a healthy way.

My husband can fight (in a non professional capacity) but it's not a trait I looked for or that I value all that much, I'd much prefer it if he could cook.

I never seeked that in a man, but my fiance can definitely fight if the situation called for it. He was in a military, so he's very physically competent.

I feel like my husband will probably hide behind me by instinct if a fighting situation comes up before he remembers he's stronger than me. He's a very gentle and soft person. He optimized his build for the modern/civilization biome so didn't put much points into combat.

Not really something I consider in relationships, I tend to go for calmer people in general as I hate confrontation anyway. For me, I dont want someone who's hot-headed and getting into scraps. I can't imagine my partner fighting unless it was an extreme situation.

My partner has been in fights and has the ability to win them. Here’s the thing though; some guy who constantly picks fights with everyone for no reason would annoy the shit out of me. That shows immaturity and an inability to tame emotions which is embarrassing after adolescence. But I mean I would like someone who I know has an ABILITY to be able to fight back somewhat. Because if we are in a situation where we have to fight, I don’t think we should be relying on my ability.

I’m 5’5 and not too big so I weigh half than half of what some guys could weigh. And I probably have half their muscle mass. He doesn’t have to be Arnie, but sexual dimorphism is a bitch and makes me weak against lots of people.

I also find it cute when guys talk about fighting to protect the honour of their friends and family. My partner is an older brother and got in a few scuffles for his brother’s good names. Gives me a bit of a chuckle about his boyhood. Men and women are different, most men get into a lot more fights as a gender, it’s something I’ve come to learn.

I’ve dated dudes that have done the whole “he’s looking at you” Schtick and it’s honestly a little tacky, why are you looking for a fight?

If you’re like on a wrestling team or learning a martial art though that’s a cool hobby to have. It’s weird if you’re looking for a fight. 👍

I’m not attracted to men prone to or interested in violence in the modern day. Society in general benefits hugely from the common belief that violence isn’t necessary and we can use our words. That’s why any unnecessary violence is illegal. People get hurt or die. I’d like my partner to be someone that makes me feel safe and others around them safe.

yes, because martial arts is one of my hobbies, but I don’t like guys who fight unless it’s turkish oil wrestling. Getting in fights is not good to me. It puts me in danger. Crossfire is a thing. Louis lane is constantly in peril and I don’t have any plot armor.

My boyfriend is physically huge so probably looks a bit intimidating, but he has never been in a fight in his life, and I'm glad that's the case.

We live in a very safe city, there is no need to fight or get into altercations. You can pretty much walk home by yourself at 3am as a girl and nothing will happen to you.

I think guys who get into fights are primitive and it makes me cringe.

No, because we are not in a cultural place where that holds value any longer.

Trends in what people look for change some within generations like I doubt my Mother looked for a kind man who would be a good father as men just went to work and where not that involved.

Fighting is not relevant in today's society so its unlikely anyone even thinks about it.

Have you tried opening your eyes and having a good look around before opening your mouth, it's highly recommended.
