There's a subreddit where women recommend porn videos to other women. Most members are straight, and the mods are diligent about keeping it a woman-only posting space. Based on my years of lurking, here are some observations:

Lesbian porn is posted a few times a month, garnering upvotes and positive comments.
Women talk about enjoying the vibe (more respectful, less gross) and the focus on women's pleasure.
Women talk positively about the female actors' bodies, how they're having fun, and the dynamic between them

In short, some percentage of straight women can build a connection to lesbian porn and its depiction of female pleasure, without ever actually wanting to have sex with a woman irl.

I can't speak for all women here, but personally, and I have the intuition it's the case of many other women, I don't watch porn to see hot guies. Hot guies don't specifically turn me on by themselves.

When I do watch porn, I'm looking for stuff being done to a woman that she enjoys and/or seeing a sexual tension/intimacy that turns me on.

This will happen a lot more in lesbian videos from more alternative or less high budget studios. I vastly prefer it when it's men I see performing, but it's rarer to have nice porn where a guy is licking pussy/fingerplaying with intention.

Rather than scrolling hours, maybe a lot of women just directly go to lesbian porn?

Honestly porn consumption habits have only a loose relationship to sexual attraction and identity. There are too many other variables at play.

Porn exists strictly in the realm of fantasy which can operate by different rules from actual sexual interaction. It is produced content so viewers are limited to content that exists and is accessible. Simultaneously, they can exclude any specific acts or dynamics that the viewer wants (either by specifically seeking appropriate content or by skipping through elements they don’t like).

There can be so many reasons why lesbian porn might be appealing to women who are a Kinsey 0. But also, not every woman who experiences some attraction to women actually identifies as lesbian or bisexual, so it makes sense that there would be a portion of the pornhub-viewing female population that inhabit the Kinsey 1-3 space but wouldn’t consider themselves bisexual for a variety of reasons.

Also, for the record, women who view porn on pornhub are only a portion of the total female population, by which I don’t mean that the majority of women don’t consume sexual content and media, but a much more comprehensive review of sexual media usage would be needed to get a better view of what female erotic content consumption looks like. M/M pairings form a key element of erotic fiction communities, as an example.

Lesbian porn is filmed by men for men. I am really curious where Pornhub gets that statistic. I would imagine there is at least some skew related to things like female viewers numbering somewhat low (I'm not sure video porn is the female standard for porn viewing), trans women being surveyed as women (which would explain the high transgender viewership), etc.

I'm not really a porn consumer. But, if I had to be, I'd go lesbian for the most part. This is simply because MM has no sensuality really. It just looks like fucking and not pleasant fucking at that. It also is, generically, icky to me.

MF is arguably the best when it's ideal and there's real sensuality, chemistry, foreplay, and female pleasure is genuine and none of it seems performative...but that's rare to find.
