I can't really think of anything I'd want to ask that I don't already know the answer to or haven't already been told. Hmm.. maybe "What's the one thing you want most out of me that I don't give you enough and what's the one thing I do that you appreciate the most?" Then I'd really know what to do that makes them the happiest.

Ooof. You know there are things I’m curious about, but if I haven’t already asked I really don’t want to know. And if I haven’t believed whatever smoke he’s blowing up my ass, (like you are still as attractive as the day we met) there is nothing to be gained from hearing the truth. I don’t ask “does my ass look big in this” because I want the truth.

I don’t suspect he has ever cheated, I know he is sincere when he says he loves me….we communicate pretty well on most things. Why take a good marriage and kick the beehive?

I will say if would make my life easier if he would just tell me what he wants for dinner, because all I ever get is “whatever you want”.

It’s apt because we’ve discussed getting counselling before getting married. But I want as realistically as is possible to have a resentment free marriage.

We haven’t had an argument since but 5 years ago early in our relationship (we were friends first) we got into the most insane fight. We said some real horrible shit to eachother. I’ve forgiven him. He took it to hell and I took it to below hell if that’s even possible that day. I’d ask him if he’s still hurt/ feels any lingering resentment.

Nah, I wouldnt ask anything. Or rather, I already ask everything I want to know and that that their answers are honest. Or rather-rather, I trust that they are mostly honest and that anything they withhold is done in the best interest of our partnership.

So, do you mind if I turn it around and say the questions I genuinely do not want to ask and don’t want to risk hearing the truth?

Do you feel like you settled for me? Are you only with me because I was tolerable and you didn’t want to risk being alone? Do you actually really like the way I look, or do you just say nice things every now and then to make me feel better?

But I also know in my heart that those are all bad useless insecurity depression brain thoughts, not real things worth exploring or investigating. I don’t ask them because I know they’re toxic questions my brain made up to make me feel bad, not realistic things I should worry about. His actions are the real answers that tell me the answers and what matters. I should be content with what I can observe, not with worrying about unobservable inner mental “truths” like those.
