I actually encountered that term on reddit. There is definitely talk in my work circles in healthcare about the suicide epidemic that has been happening since 2020, and acknowledgement that men die by suicide more often (CDC data). Truth is though, mental health seems to be on a negative trend since 2020 across many demographics.

But the "male loneliness epidemic" seems to be one of those pop psychology terms that generates a lot of discourse on Twitter and other social media sites. Less a psyop and more gets a lot of attention and is then artificially inflated by algorithms that focus on getting people's attention.

I’ve literally had men on this subreddit tell me I should feel sorry for men saying horrible things about women because they’re just lonely…

But also isn’t the whole red pill treatise “dating apps are stacked against us because of the 80/20 rule”? You’re telling me all these men are obsessed with how women are unfair to men in dating but that doesn’t come from a place of loneliness?

Yes. It is a term coined by moral enterpreneurs to create a moral panic amd to grift.

There is a general lonelyness epidemic that is enabled and fueled by corporations, as they want you to continue using their product instead of just interacting with people irl.

Men are not more lonely than women. There is a general loneliness epidemic and governments are onto it. "male " specific loneliness is a manosphere thing to get some moral/societal leverage by dipping into health issues etc.

Essentially it's incels wanting to get help because being lonely is now a health and social concern, rather than just their lack of sex and ability to find a girlfriend.

It definitely exists and is a problem, guys don’t go around openly admitting they’re lonely though as it’s embarrassing/shameful and the ones that do often get less than sympathetic responses. I myself struggle with it and go to therapy for it.

Naw id have to disagree, its used whenever its necessary to make a point mostly, matter fact I did so myself recently. Of course other topics are created from it for sure but it comes in handy at times. So both sexes use it for sure but dunking is likely the primary reason I see women bring it up. Although I've seen them also use it to make a point and to dunk on men at the same time, lol.
