Because it is clear to me men's rights is more about equality then feminism. The #MeToo movement made me support this group even more... especially since Johnny Depp case.

I think feminism tears down men. I think it's a tragedy that we no longer value masculinity and all the wonderful things it brings. Men are wonderful and valuable.

For the women who actually see us and take it seriously if us men got raped or hurt in any other ways thank you. As a man who personally got raped by a previous ex, that support truly means the world to me and loads of other men who been in similar journeys as me.

I think it’s the same thing with women who support equal rights for men. Just because they are female doesn’t mean they believe women should be advantaged and men disadvantaged. Many women aren’t feminist.

I consider myself an equalist, I'm in women's rights subs, and men's,

I like and want my rights, and if I want rights for me, the logical thing is to want them for others.

I like my brothers and my guy friends, I want rights for them.

I want to protect my rights to my body,

I want to protect their rights. If they ever have kids or get divorced, I want them to have equal rights in that situation.

I want my feelings and emotions respected, I want theirs respected too.

I want them to have the right to their masculinity without being confined by its expectations that can sometimes negatively effect men, ( like cry, express emotions, have issues socializing, not being seen as creepy for just going and their day)

Just as I want the same with my femininity.

Same way I don’t want to be crapped on for just being a woman, I don’t want them crapped on for existing as men.

My husband is a combat veteran, I have a young son, and I am a therapist. I see how different systems and individuals impact these people I care about. I have sad and lonely male clients with no support who have endured disgusting abuse from their families of origin, romantic partners, or other trusted people. I want the world to be better and that means I need to look at the other side and what their life experiences are. I am very grateful to this sub for helping me see so many other points of view

I believe in egalitarianism. I frequent these spaces because I've witnessed far too many instances of women lying about abuse and rape, and I deeply dislike the surrounding discourse. I moved into DV/IPV mental health work believing it would hold all abusers accountable, but quickly learned that men are victimized at a level where their status as victims is routinely dismissed, questioned, or outright stripped from them. The lack of understanding, patience, and empathy is sickening. Their vilification - particularly in situations where they are the victims of abuse - pushed me to become more involved in correcting these imbalances, even if it's only my contribution at a single nonprofit.

I watched a crazy Haitian 21yo try to destroy my little brothers life by getting pregnant and demanding money, a car, ect. She used the unborn child to physically and mentally abuse him. She isolated my brother and made him hate my siblings and his half white biology. Told him he was below her for not knowing his black heritage. We were all half related orphans and stuck together btw. She said so many outrageous things about how he was supposed to do XYZ because he was a man, like he wasn’t allowed to talk to me because that was incest to just have relationships with other familial women. That he needed to give her his location non stop and he was to always check in. She wouldn’t do anything for herself. Just basically watched this girl treat my brother like a passport and an ATM till he was crashing out and wanting to die. Well I had enough and she wasn’t taking him to ultra sounds ect. The time line didn’t add up. The baby was probably coming along before they met. Completely destroyed him for nothing. Now I’m pro men’s rights.

I support men’s rights because I’ve watched our legal system and society repeatedly fail men while simultaneously demonizing them. There’s a massive double standard that people refuse to acknowledge where men are expected to be disposable and accountable, yet receive very little in return.

I’ve seen how male victims of abuse and SA are minimized or outright disbelieved. I’ve seen close friends get destroyed financially and legally by false dv & rape accusations while being told that questioning the woman is “misogyny.” feminism has drifted so far from equality and into full blown misandry and hate speech.

I am a trans woman. I am not going to make this a long sob story, but I am so deeply traumatized by the things forced on me because of who I was assumed to be when I had little say to be anything besides what was forced upon me (including/especially by women). And I know many men who have been victimized, traumatized, and died who are silenced if not outright erased at all stages of their suffering.

I am outraged by what I have witnessed. I know there is little I can do, I'm just one weirdo. But I am going to stay outraged. And I stay close to the people who have been good to me, including men. There are men in my life who I am fiercely supportive/protective towards. And there are men who I do not even know, but when I hear what is done to them, on battlefields, in prisons, in their own homes, I just want to scream.

I refuse to hate anyone based on their gender. I think a revenge mindset to historical oppression is counter productive, simple minded, and lazy.

My social media algorithms are constantly trying to brainwash me into disliking all men and it’s just not happening. I’m glad I broke away from all that and stopped self identifying as a victim. Misogyny is still a prevalent issue especially in non western countries but we need to care about the rights of all people if we want the world to be a more peaceful place. Misandrist mindsets will just create more misogynists by ostracising & isolating men.

I hate sexism. I’m pro equality/more so equity. I do however no longer identify as a sole feminist due to what has happened to that community (things that I can see with my own eyes). I care about others as human beings, regardless of their gender. Social conditioning and gender norms negatively impact both men & women. And we live in a time of horrific double standards in the west.

I see husbands take great care of their wives and children. I believe men are inherently good and I appreciate that.

I think we should all support the men in our lives more.

My dad's kids from his first marriage were stolen from him. He had them when he was 17-18 and dropped out of school to take care of them- and he worked several blue collar jobs to keep them afloat with absolutely no support from his family whatsoever. Their mom fled to another state and served him with papers, got remarried, and then pretty much bankrupted him with child support that she didn't need. And then she lied to them about him and why they broke up (she cheated on him.) Eventually he got remarried and fought for visitation rights. He's not a perfect dad by any means but he certainly deserved to be able to see his kids all that time. I know for a fact that other women are doing this to their ex husbands, so that's why I'm here.

There are lots of little things but the main one was,

On a trip away with a bunch of friends/coworkers, one guys wife started beating him, infront of his coworkers and his kids. By the way their kids were reacting, it was 'normal' for them and happened all the time.

It was brutal, I dont feel right detailing specifics but, it went for ages, and there were lots of moments where I realized, a few different things that relate to mens rights.

And I've been strongly pro-dv-shelters-for-men and related resources and recognition ever since.

Still it took me a long time after that to get fully into it, and I believed a lot of feminist myths for too long afterwards too. For a long time I believed he was an outlier, an example of the "rare" male victim.

I thought I knew a lot of outliers.

At the Johnny Depp trial, the dv 'expert' for AH was so bias, and so qualified/reputable in the field that I took a closer look at the 'evidence' of domestic violence being gendered, the more bias and manipulation and badly done studies I found.

Although I'm a long way removed now, it all really comes back to a time when I was unable to help a friend who needed it.

For me it’s simple, I grew up with a father, with brothers, with uncles, with cousins, friends. I’ve seen men work, succeed, fail, persevere. Women too, work together, fall apart, find their way. You have to let things play out without the drama.

Most of the quarrels stem from low brainpower women who love drama, refuse accountability and expect everything on a silver platter. Guess where that gets you…?

We’re all in this together, and we’re better for it. It makes me sick to my stomach when I see conversations about sides and biases and nonsense problems, and the support it receives because women prefer to back each other’s disgusting behaviour instead of holding themselves and each other accountable, like men do.

There were a few responses that I saw, like "I have a son" or "I have a brother", and they reminded me of how many men got insulted for saying the equivalent in the early days of mainstream feminism.

"You need to know the woman before you care?", and things of that nature. Notice how that response hasn't come to you. Ultimately there was a demand that all women be seen and protected, and I do ultimately hope that those of you who only care about it for someone specific, eventually extend the lens. There are plenty people hurting because no one cares about them.

Similar to many of the women above. I am curious and seek greater understanding of the problems facing people.

My work/life path has taken me through a law career which has shown me the worst in people humanity, into DV/ trauma areas, and I’m now studying and pivoting career paths again- because I am jaded.

I don’t think that pitting genders against each other is helpful, I don’t think that any gender as a collective is responsible for all of the shit things that individuals do. I like men, I love men, I see them as people- perfect and flawed (like most). I maybe naively believe that the majority of people are inherently good, but there are obvious outliers, that because of a combination of life factors some struggle more, and there are a smaller percentage of pure evil existing on both sides.

I am not deluded to think that women are perfect, wonderful or inherently needing protection, I live in the world- see how people interact.

I am extremely concerned about the role of the internet, social media, algorithms and AI, and how it pushes agendas, building more addicted and radicalised groups of angry, bitter and isolated people.

I think that there are ways that social conditioning promotes and supports men and women , and also the way it ruins them.

I don’t think that these topics are easy- but I dont think blind hate and non critical thinking helps.

I'm a feminist, and I do believe that a lot of us genuinely don't want what happened to women, happening to men. When I first heard people beginning to say "all men (insert something bad)" it made me feel very uneasy, and i was immediately scared that people I love, and men in general, were going to be struck in the crossfire.

Don't get me wrong, I know a lot of women (myself included) that have been hurt by men (and women), just like i know a lot of men who have been hurt by women (and men).

I believe we're first and foremost all humans and should treat each other as such. When I first learned about feminism, it was a mouvement about making life easier for both men and women and I want to help stir it that way and won't stop thinking of myself as a feminist just because some people took that and changed it for the worst and just spew misandry. Just like I won't stop MRA to fight their fight just because some push it to the extreme and spew misogyny.

I don't believe misandrists are (edit : typo) feminist, just like I don't believe misogynists to be MRA.

I'm here because I have 2 brothers and maybe a son one day, and Let's just say im glad im female because I would not want to go through what you guys do. I actually think men have it worse, at least where I live. I fear for my brother a lot, especially because shes moving out soon I really don't want anything bad to happen to him. Having cramps for 2-3 days a month is the only thing I ever have to worry about. Not accusations, or unrealistic expectations, or the mental health issues, or crime suspicions, or ANYTHING.

BUT. I don't comment because YOU GUYS on this sub people are insane. But ofc thats because this is reddit, Redditors be whack. People on every sub is insane, which is why I lurk...

Because I believe in equality and human dignity and rights, and while men and women have differences we all deserve the same basic human rights, dignity and help. Even if I didn't have men in my life (uncles, nephews, cousins, an amazing husband) I would fight for men to have the same resources, help etc. As women. I also believe that while I can loudly voice to help women and get our needs met, I can do the same at the same time for men

Because I am a feminist (at least looking at the textbook definition of feminism) and not a misandrist; meaning I support equal human rights regardless of the gender. I still believe women are at a disadvantage in certain ways in our society; but I believe men face disadvantages in other ways. I suppose minimal quotas based on the amount of women vs men in a specific field for job hires in order to prevent one gender from being clearly disadvantaged is something to maybe consider but I do not agree with policies advantaging one gender over the other or with government scholarships for women only. There are also other issues (notably, men's mental health, isolation and societal expectations) that need to be addressed. I also think talking against men or women as a gender is counter productive to the gender equality cause and only feeds the gender war/resentment. Therefore, I think certain posts bashing women on this sub (or others) or the way bashing men is so widely accepted in this society are stupid and useless to the cause of men's/women's rights. However, I understand the source of that resentment and fall victim of it too sometimes. Humans are biologically and socially wired to be shallow both romantically and socially. But it's really shitty to be reduced to what you look like or your status instead of who you are as a person. This, along with all the extremist views we are constantly fed on social media negative past experiences and facing gender inequalities all make it very easy to build resentment for the other gender. But in the end, we just all want the same thing, so we should just work together toward the same goal: being treated equally regardless of who we are.

Feminist, but I have three brothers and three nephews. We don't need to make any group "the other" based just on gender, race or any other variable we don't control. I've seen the same emotions, frustrations, longing in my male family members and friends that I see in myself and other women.

There's one man in the fringes of my social circle who is flailing right now. His wife left him, he changed jobs, and after a long marriage, he doesn't quite know how to relate. It's the same very human experience that my female friends and I have experienced.

Feminism doesn’t have to be a bad thing for men. By definition, feminism and misandry are two different things. The problem is that misandrists call themselves feminists and feminists refuse to acknowledge it and sometimes they support it. It’s hard to tell the difference these days…
