We all know the stats that women swipe right on a very small percentage of men on dating apps, and whilst likes are usually funnelled to the "best" male profiles, what's evident is that a lot of women only really swipe on guys who fit their exact type.

However, when it comes to relationships that start offline a lot of women end up dating the guys in close proximity to them i.e. through their friend groups, friends of friends, work and so on. It's hard to believe that these guys are all part of the women's tiny proportion of subjectively attractive men.

So this begs the question, are women simply much more likely to give a wider selection of men a chance when they meet organically, or are dating apps self selecting for the pickiest women. (Or Both).
