When people are hurting they tend to be really shitty at discussing their pain in a way that garners empathy. There really is no such thing as a safe space if you are consuming internet content. If witnessing people be unempathetic to your pain or disagree with your stance makes you more upset the only semi safe decision is to avoid the internet.

All you have to do is make a few bad clicks and you will be bombarded with content that will piss you off. If people can't learn to figure out that it's a perception issue we are fucking cooked.

This is how i view it personally OP...

You can't really be lonely if you don't want to be in 2026. It's almost impossible to be so weird and repulsive and extreme that you repel EVERYONE. Even the craziest incel loons find discords full of other men like them and share AI porn, memes or whatever.

You can look for a meetup group, take up a sport or hobby and meet the same regulars there every week, invite your coworker out for a drink or lunch or whatever... if you even have one friend you're pretty golden. Why? Because he can introduce you to his friends, who can introduce you to theirs.. people can and have rebuilt their entire network by doing just like this after moving to a new city.

What I think is interesting about men is we can be simultaneously lonely, and not. I feel lonely at some deep spiritual level because nature designed men to feel psychic malaise whenever we're not regularly fucking a woman that at least pretends to desire us back. But socially, I'm not lonely, I'm surrounded by friends and family or coworkers I've known for years who are at least quasi-friends most of the time.

I think the reason the male loneliness phenomenon is not taken seriously by women is they don't experience this same malaise. They've never had to evolve it. The percentage of the female population who are both capable of breeding (ie, not too morbidly obese/old to even carry a pregnancy to term) AND are in serious danger of never having a male approach them again is slight. There's no selection pressure on women to feel lonely in absence of a male lover, because a male lover is always no more than a few weeks or months away from just popping into her life randomly.

Women will probably never really understand men on this subject and it's going to be constant talking past each other in perpetuity.

I huge issue is men themselves can’t even articulate what this loneliness is, it told to get friends and find hobbies and what not they’ll say “but it’s romantic loneliness we mean that can’t be satiated with friends!”

And when told “ok but you have to become attractive for a partner to want you and you’re not just entitled to a romantic partner” they say “but we never said we’re entitled! Why you always say that? We meant lonely in general”

This just makes male loneliness sound like an issue no one can really fix but men among themselves, either befriend one another or work on yourself to find a partner.

I’d argue that women have a whole lot more romantic loneliness than they will tell you. It’s just easier to suppress these things with all the opposite sex validation they receive that most men do not.

The reality is that there's just a loneliness epidemic in general, women statistically are just as lonely as men. They just use the "male loneliness" as a way to divide. Loneliness in general has gone up but it makes sense. People have to work long hours, commute, come home and do chores. They don't have time for dating and friends. Then you add electronics, TV, gaming, social media, etc etc. That's what people do with their time now.

Sure the internet certainly impacts the culture (we can see that the younger generations tend to be less social etc). But there’s also another aspect which is, historically because of how societies looked, a man basically only needed to provide income and/or safety to be seen as a suitable mate.

Whereas now, society is more safe and women have their own income. Which means (especially if you subscribe to the idea that "women a never ending flow of options to choose from") - modern men have to provide something else, perhaps be interesting people. Confidence is pretty much universal, but other things like psychologically stimulating and passionate as well.

That’s sets you up for success even without going into looks.

I find that it’s joked about or weaponized when men are acting particularly shitty. Like I saw an Instagram reel that was a compilation of male podcasters saying atrociously evil shit about women, and the top comments were mostly “men aren’t lonely enough!”
