This applies to anything really. Whether it's wanting someone wait/be ready for you when it comes to sex commitnent, emotional intimacy...People have different time frames and different ways of processing the progression (or lack there of) regarding a relationship.

Some people want to engage in certain things faster than others. Just cause they don't want to wait for you to get ready and do everything your way doesn't mean they never like you or never had good intentions. Just means, they have different goals, different timeframes and rank priorities differently than you.

Sure people can and often do comprisize but you really can't fault people for not being as patient or as ready as you are for certain things. It's just incompatibility.

Even if everything else is great, if every time I want to move left, my partner wants to move right or only wants to move at all; it's gonna be a problem.

There's not need to pathologize or vilify people for not following your lead or not being able to reach compromise with you on how to proceed with the relationship.

This goes for men and women. Keep looking for people who are in sync with you and if you can't find any; keep reevaluating your approach to dating, what your non-negotiable actually are, what are you willing to compromise on.

Anything beyond that, you're probably just forcing things. Your forcing your agenda is no better than the other person forcing theirs either.
