1. One of the first people I spoke to on Reddit told me that if I were a stay-at-home dad and my wife leaves me, she's leaving me because I'm not financially providing, so I should lose custody of my children and pay child support. ???

  2. I've had like three people ask me, "What do you intend to contribute?" when I say I want alimony to compensate for a lack of male DV shelters, which was bad faith, because they know what women do to earn it, so they should assume I'm willing to do the same, and I am: cooking, cleaning, parenting. I'm only willing to NOT switch on weekends or work a half shift in the afternoons, and/or return to work after the youngest is in kindergarten IF my future wife happens to find me more useful at home or on call, like some do.

  3. The cheesy one, but why do I still have to pay on dates? I am ok with going Dutch instead of me getting a free date, but it's kind of cheap that stay-at-home dad hopefuls get Dutch, men seeking equal partnerships go Dutch, and then stay-at-home mom hopefuls get a 100% paid date.

  4. The serious one: Why does the mother of the child get custody, and I pay support if we break up before the birth? A stay-at-home dad for 2 years gets custody and support; a stay-at-home mom for 2 years also gets custody and support. But a breakup before birth leads to mom *ALSO* getting custody and support, instead of 50% custody and no support.

So the question is: can you name me a rule for stay-at-home fathers that IS different than the rules you have for financially provisioning fathers?
