I disagree that women don't know men have deep emotions.

I'd agree more if you had said:

"A lot of women do not want guys to have emotions as deep as they have."

Or

"The emotions guys have scare the hell out of a lot of women."

Or

"A lot of women do not care that guys have emotions as deep as they have."

Or

"A lot of women think guys should not have emotions as deep as they have."

Women know guys have deep emotions. Women just don't want to see those deep emotions because they want men to be men, not women with penises. If women can stand to see those deep emotions, they don't want to see them very often. Just sometimes, sparingly. Women also don't care that guys have emotions as deep as they have. They just don't care about men.

We had someone ask about 'opening up' on one of the women's subs. Turned out the dude had told a girl that he fantasized about physically hurting her, because he found out she masturbated. He was shocked and surprised that she didn't want anything to do with him after that...

That was an extreme. Some of the guys who're socially challenged and/or mentally ill gravitate to reddit, because they have trouble communicating irl.

Anyway, I think that opening up does have to be done gradually, and when the time is right.

I get the impression that a lot of the normal guys (unlike the guy from the example) decide to OPEN UP!!! and just dump everything on the woman all at once, and at a bad time for doing it anyway (too early in the relationship/when she has her own shit/etc.)

Also, I've seen guys claim that the woman changed because they opened up, only to admit that it wasn't the opening up but other problems that caused the woman being less warm. One of those causes was expecting the woman to somehow heal them. Another was that after opening up the problems became at catch-all exscuse for any bad behaviour on his part.

You can't take what you got from Ask Men as fact. It is, after all, completely one-sided, and a good deal of these guys will be found in what I've written above.

I think the key the balance. From my experience, a man who is overall confident but has occasional bouts of vulnerability is fine with a woman. But if he acts vulnerable and emotional more often then he acts confident, it will be difficult for most women to deal with that. So in this sense I don't think opening up is necessarily going to automatically end a relationship, but if a man does it too often he risks making what made him initially attractive to her disappear.

i just saw a comment in the main sex subreddit where a woman said something like "women have a million bodily insecurities to deal with while men only have 3 bodily insecurities: height, dick size, and whether or not they have something stuck in their teeth."

Women are the ones enforcing toxic masculinity by the very fact that they themselves don't empathize that a man can have the exact same plethora of feelings she does, but only that he was thought and forced to "overcome" them/repressed them through his education.

It's for them that men keep the straight stoic image after all, you'll find that men "strong" curtains often fall off when he's among bros, and that most gay don't care shit about having a stoic image.

Women have no idea that masculinity is a performance for most men. Not all of it and for some men, it's more of a performance than for others but it's still a performance nonetheless. I think that's where their simplistic view of man's interior life comes from.

I'm speaking as a former idealistic shy guy. I understand what guys are going through. But I was determined to make a change in my life and I did. And it worked and I'm much happier.

No one wants to be in 2nd place, but that's how real life is. Real life for men in the dating scene is 90% rejection or higher. Men who do not deal with reality will have a very bad time dating.

They don't expect to hear about men who feel they don't have a place in the world or who feel like they're not good enough for whatever.

That's just being human. A girl-child who can't support her partner is not someone you want to be with long term. So why waste your time?

It's more that we're not really interested in the rich, vibrant, emotional lives that men that repulse or creep us out may (or may not) have. Keep it to yourself, champ. Women definitely are concerned by the emotions of men in their lives, however.

I don't get it, really you should be training yourself not to have those thoughts at all, you should treat having negative thoughts like that as an undesirable behavior to be eliminated.
