The ideal western lifestyle these days is young people participating in hookup culture. And it's not just the ideal for actual young people between the ages of 18 and 25. Nowadays "young" can mean up to thirty-fucking-eight and older. It is only reasonable that people should want to live the ideal lifestyle. Especially since I only see that lifestyle getting more popularized and made aspirational in the future.

Besides, even if less well-off women still "need" men hookup culture has ruined that shit as well. Everybody can now see the difference between how women treat sexually attractive men and how they treat the rest. It's no longer possible to trick yourself into believing that being needed in the way you describe is anything but being settled for because you provide resources. Or because some woman is afraid to be alone and isn't afraid to compromise on sexual attraction for some companionship/a family.

I would argue that with men falling increasingly behind in education, the fact that women have little patience for men below their socioeconomic status, and of course with more men having shit SMV/RMV; there is some validity to the notion that there's no place for men in the coming future. Women don't date down, only up, and with jobs beocoming more automated with less reliance on physical labor...just what is men's place in society? We can even breed children in test tubes now and women will have the option of simply going down to the sperm bank and picking out the best Alpha genes.

I just don't see a rosy future for men. It's all bleak/gloomy news.

That's true today. But your title is about the future. It's easy to envision a not-too-distant future where:

Casual sex becomes even more appealing to women (greater sense of safety, lesser possibility of social stigma, easier to find attractive men).
Committed relationships become even less appealing to women (reduced social/financial benefits from marriage, less of a cultural emphasis on needing/wanting a long-term partner, fewer men who qualify as LTR material).
Women become even less economically dependent on men (women continue to overtake men in education, fewer men want to/choose to make their resources available, greater emphasis on being a "(financially) independent woman").

If the majority of men don't have much to offer women sexually, romantically, or financially, why would she settle? Even if she's average (read: overweight but not obese) she'll still be able to get casual sex with a decent-looking guy well into her 30s (if not later). Billy Beta isn't making enough to improve her lifestyle that much -- she's doing fine on money anyway -- and she's not all that interested in a fairytale wedding unless the groom is a real-life Prince Charming. She's perfectly content doing her own thing and only occasionally dipping her toes back into the casual sex/dating pool. If that presents a problem long-term, she's likely not going to realize it until she's well past her prime, and by then Billy Beta is likely out of the game, too.

All of these trends already exist to a significant degree; the only speculative part is assuming they'll continue in their current direction. It may not happen, but it's certainly possible.

I agree. The caricature of the beautiful, wealthy, pampered, promiscuous young woman that TRPs and incels use as a reliable stereotype for millennial women is outrageously inaccurate. They stalk Instagram too much.

This trope is created out of fantasy and envy. She is the woman they want who is living the lifestyle that they wish they had. Obviously, women like this are very rare. Most college aged women can't afford massive fashionable wardrobes, elaborate vacations, or weekly bottomless mimosa brunches with the girls. Most college aged women don't have sugar daddies or a line of suitors. They are by and large normal young people with limited free time and disposal income. Most college aged women aren't getting wasted at frat parties and having loads of anonymous sex with random people. Most young women want boyfriends and husbands.

It's a projection from men who feel left out of hookup culture, and believe that anything less than casual sex on demand from young beautiful women is an injustice. Most of them would have no problem finding girlfriends, but they don't want that.

I thought the "hysteria" about the future of men was based on economic not sexual factors? Like the decline of working class jobs, the fact that more women then men are going to college, and the unemployment rate in regards to young adult males.

Neither gender will need the other anymore. Men wont need women due to artificial wombs and sex bots. Women wont need men due to equal opportunity and the welfare state.

Having said that women will be the ones needing men more. Because they crave emotional connection more due to the way their brains evolved to attain emotional bonds to secure a man to secure themselves. It's also more important to a woman's sexual arousal that the man be excited and into them, whereas the man doesn't care as much about the woman's enthusiasm, just that she is hot. So sex bots wont be as useful for women.

The issue is that men are failing to see the freedom from all of this. It isn't that men don't have a place in future society, it's that we are approaching a period where men are going to be free from women. We are approaching a world where men don't have to marry women. Where they don't have to father their children. Where men don't have to support women and pay for their lives. Where men don't have to give up their lives to protect women. This is freedom. Let the suckers who refuse to adapt to the new world suffer women's company, while the real men enjoy freedom.

Men can choose to be alone, to focus on themselves. And many men are already doing that. Men need to fight for more freedom by fighting against things like child support and alimony. Women want the business world? let them take it. Let them grind away at a soul sucking job day in and day out until they die. They want politics? Let them have it! Let them decide to go into wars, let them decide to spend money on one thing over another when both "things" affect many people's lives. They want sole custody? Let them take it, let them be the career women and the mom, let them raise a generation of dysfunctional kids. Let men be free from it all. Let them go out on walks by the lake at 10 am, let their worries be nothing more than cleaning and cooking for themselves and after themselves. Drive men out of their comfort zone, it's when they are in their best. Removing them from everything that is discovered will allow them to innovate. Let women be the custodial staff and the managers and let men be the innovators.

All a man needs from a woman is her vagina, and we are approaching a point in time where technology will take any supplier bargaining power that women have away from them.

Eh, the fearmongering is overblown, but there is a lot of truth to it. As we have spent more and more time focusing entirely on women's needs in education and the workforce, its obviously limiting the growth of men (there are only a finite amount of spots/"good" jobs, scholarships, etc). Childless millennial women outearn their male counterparts in every major city except Silicon Valley.

Its not so much that there is no place left, its just the hierarchy of life is changing to

Top tier: small amount of men who find their way to the top. This will almost always be men because there is added incentive for men to be more powerful than women (sorry ladies, you like rich guys)
Second tier: mostly women. Some of these women earned their place, many did not though. They are a product of gov't quotas, college quotas, insane amounts of money we throw at women via our tax system, etc. There will be a few men in this tier (taller men, men who echoed every feminist talking point to stay on the good side of court of public opinion, etc), but this tier will be overwhelmingly women.
Third tier: Mostly men. The ones the gov't stopped caring about. The ones that "needed to be resocialized" according to feminists. This tier is getting larger and larger, and men are getting more and more pissed.

The future, as we break down "those evil social constructs" seems to be polygamist type relationships where the top men get all the women, as women would rather share a top man with multiple women than have some physically, mentally, emotionally lesser man all to herself. The problem is she doesnt realize she is that as well due to so many people, the govt, ideologies, all telling her how great she is.

I don't see men being "obsolete" so much in the sexual market as the big problem but more in our general economy. More jobs are being outsourced to cheaper locations overseas or automated, leaving a vacuum where manual labor in agriculture and industry used to be. It's one of the factors that drives the divide between the rich and poor, shrinks the middle class and leaves less qualified people as a whole without "purpose", as our society largely defines it by what work you do. We aren't fighting meat grinder-style wars anymore either which used to consume large parts of the male population before.

I think as a whole society, we will have to face the change of not "needing" the entire population in a 9-5 workforce with many low qualification factory jobs anymore and the positions where we do need them will have to be divided and paid in a way that can feed a family, unless we want to be looking at large scale poverty and possible violence resulting from it.

Wrong. While I first want to say I don't think there will be no place for men in the future, this part of the argument is mind boggling. You are %100 dead wrong about men giving a shit about the socioeconomic status of women when it comes to the dating/hookup/ons/etc scene. I bartended for years in many different bars, I was in the whole college scene for many years. While the guys in the college party scene are mostly mid to upper class, the women are everything from trailer park local yokels to rich princesses. If they are attractive, they will be socially popular. The bar scene is a mix of all classes, save for the fancy bars, which is much more like the college scene. For women, looks are all that matters and there are a lot more scenes for them to get their slut on than college.

Wrong again, most women do. Most women I know meet a guy, sleep with him, "date" for a week or two at a time, break up, date someone else, rinse and repeat. If you are of heathy BMI, your options for "dating" guys, including Chads is nearly limitless. Why is there such high turnover on these women seeking relationships?(IMO) Women date based on how a guy makes them feel emotionally and don't often take into account the rational side of things. Chad's inspire a lot of emotion, because of their physical attractiveness(I feel is #1), game, status, so on. Because of this they feel these guys are special, and they feel special because they have been chosen to "date" him. Chad is more often than not dating her but their heads are too far in the clouds to see that. In the end you end up with women who keep STRing guys, that they feel(emotionally, not exactly rationally) they want LTR's with. They absolutely do want relationships, just with the guys who inspire this level of emotion. As they become less attractive or more self aware, this changes.

With that said, not every women is like this, but I do feel most(especially in the online dating world) women do go through phases like this, as most are in decent shape at some point in their lives and popular among attractive men for some time.

Women will still want those relationships as they get older and get baby rabies, so they take the best they can get. At this point they are driven by emotion in a different way, which can potentially lead to less than happy marriages. I don't think this part will ever change, as I don't think the women of the future will be happy raising a child on their own, for a large number of reasons. So men are safe for the future, as long as we pass legislation banning the manufacturing of Chadbots.

Agree that there is an overemphasis on casual sex (especially on this sub and red pill subs), but the idea that men are becoming less important is not unique to this viewpoint. Hannah Rosin also argued this in her book "The End of Men." (I don't really subscribe to that idea.)

In a world where a guy's job is usually more important for his place in society then a women's, as long as there is increasing equaity where women increasingly are employed at higher levels then men, suicide rates for middle aged men will keep increasing.

I am not advocating men get preference in the job market, but rigt now the school system is more advantageous for women.

As long as society and men themselves value themself for their jobs, men will continue to suffer. Marriages right now are more succesful if the man is makign more then the women.

You put this in terms of sex, but women are less dependent on men. This lowers the value of men and we live in a society where women can expect a man to make more money then them.
