None. None of my IRL friends. Obviously some of my PPD friends.

Mr. Arthur has stories from boarding school, though. Good Lord.

A third was a bit of a sexually-repressed Catholic and relationship-wrecker.

There's something about that religion that tends to cause that D:

I grew up in the '80s, post-Pill, pre-AIDS. None of the girls in my circle were chaste by choice; the only thing that ever held us back was if we weren't pretty enough to attract the attention of the guy we had our eyes on.

Those were some good times!

In your view which is better time for young women, 1980s or 2017? For young men?

I think kids of both genders had it better in my generation, pre-Internet. Nowadays it seems all kids do is stare at screens! We had fun, damnit. We were sex-ing, not sexting. lol

I know one woman with confirmed triple digits who has been married for ten years. I was one of her bridesmaids. I don't know the partner count of any of my other friends, but I'd assume most have slept with less than ten people each. I've had PIV sex with less than ten men myself, which some people in this sub define as chaste and some define as horrible slut territory.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

depends how old you are

[–]SpaceWhiskey🍃 Social Justice Druid 🍂2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess yeah. I'm 32, my friends are similar in age give or take a few years in either direction.

[–]Dominic_Badguy1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What do you mean by confirmed? Did she like keep a record? Tally them all up and put it on a spreadsheet?

[–]SpaceWhiskey🍃 Social Justice Druid 🍂6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

She kept count, yes. She was proud if it and told me about it.

Huh, well good for her.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Out of my close female friends, which consist of six women plus myself (all in our late twenties):

-Two married their first boyfriends in their early twenties (one of these is now divorced - long story - and dating someone else. He's the second guy she's ever slept with.)

-One had only LTRs and is now engaged to a guy she's been with for 6 or 7 years.

-Three (including myself) had some casual sex that usually led to an LTR (all three of us are now happily partnered with guys who started out as hookups/FWBs).

-One was a bona fide slut who slept with nearly every dude in our circle and is now married to and about to have a baby with one of her most frequent hookups from her slut phase.

All but two of us have single digit n's.

Obviously the last girl rode the CC. Depending on your definition, I and the two girls with similar histories may have too. Safe to say the first two girls did not. I have other friends who may or may not have, but I met them in my mid/late twenties when they were already coupled up so I have no insight into their past. (The girls on this list I've known since hs or college.)

(Edited for formatting.)

Edit 2: Forgot about my other slutty friend. Idk what her n count is, I don't think it's terribly high, but she gets in a lot of fuck buddy situations where she and the guy aren't on the same page and lets them go on for way too long.

[–]Atlas_B_Shruggin🔪Yeetus that Feetus🔪5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (46 children) | Copy Link

All of my friends had the same lives as me. Teenage boyfriends (1-24 monthsish) interspersed with hookups, first real bf from like 18-21, period of dating after that breakup, hooking up and STRs trying to find next bf, settling with someone around 23-24 who became their next longest partner, culminating in either marriage or staying together til now, or breaking up around 28-31. Most then went on to marry someone else. Only one I know of became a cat lady

[–]i_have_a_semicolonPurple Pill Woman4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I skipped on the second half of this by recently becoming engaged to the man I rebounded with after the breakup of my 17-20 LTR "first real bf". Had the teenage bfs (3 months and 2 months) hookups, ons, even a FWB. Honestly...who cares. It's a distant memory at this point.

[–]Atlas_B_Shruggin🔪Yeetus that Feetus🔪5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Right, normal east coast dating life.

[–]sunkindonut149Blue Pill Mouse1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is a very different pattern from what many millennials experience here in NYC.

  • 5-10% of the population: High-N people who lose their virginity between ages 16 and 19 and had the teen BF / GF thing going on and partook in the hookup, ons, FWB thing.

  • 50-60% of the population: First dated between age 21-25 and lost their virginity around age 24, high probability of having partaken in 1 of the 3 (hookups, ONS, FWB).

  • 20-30% of the population: Still on "the search" for their first serious BF/GF and are in their late 20s to early 30s which is kind of my age range. Possibly still a virgin though this isn't due to religion or culture.

[–]EntroPeteradical centrist in every way2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That makes no sense, considering the average age of virginity loss is around 17-18 depending on the source.

[–]Atlas_B_Shruggin🔪Yeetus that Feetus🔪6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago* (40 children) | Copy Link

whats sad about a bunch of normal married people who had perfectly normal urban white lives of their generation and are fine?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

It's sad because it suggests nobody would settle down if you didn't get old.

You just cling to whomever is there once you realise your own mortality.

[–]BiggerDthanYouBluetopia5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

It's sad because it suggests nobody would settle down if you didn't get old

Does any teenager or young adult even think about settling down in a positive light? Young people aren't known for planning into the future. They want to live in the now, have fun and not be restricted in their freedom.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I plan into the future and in that regard I'm far more adult than my numeric age. I just find the idea of being around the same person every single day until I die to be absolute hell. I don't properly like more of my friends, they're fun to be with, but 90% of them are so generic they're interchangeable.

[–]EntroPeteradical centrist in every way4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

cough you're the average of your 5 closest friends cough

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Based on this logic we're all the same provided we can't be partitioned into disjoint sets.

[–]EntroPeteradical centrist in every way0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

People with less than 5 friends exist, those could cut off the loose ends. Also this wasn't the most serious comment in the world.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

If I am the average of my 5 closest friends and each one of those 5 friends is the average of their 5 closest friends then everyone in the group is the same and since the groups over lap this applies to each of the other groups which intersects my group therefore disjoint cases aside. We are all the same.

[–]Atlas_B_Shruggin🔪Yeetus that Feetus🔪1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How did what I wrote suggest that?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Obviously there will be an element of my own views and subjective experience incorporated into my reading of what you wrote, but the fact is, male or female most people start going to shit around the age of 30 which is when most of these people had this great revelation they've found the one.

If humans stayed young forever and were just able to continually focus on their career or party or whatever makes them happy, people would either have continuous serial monogamy or continuous promiscuity.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

that's pretty much how it works, really. Lots of women I knew from college who didn't find their husbands in college, if they married, just married the guy they were dating at the time they decided it was time to settle down.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

it's sad but this is what happens.

I guess that depends on how you define cock carousel. I'm going to interpret it as multiple ONSs. Percentage wise I would estimate 15% have done so at some point in their lives. I have not, mainly because I've virtually never been single and sexually active.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

been single AND sexually active.

hmmm how does that work?

[–]shoup88Report me bitch5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You can fuck someone without being in a committed relationship. That's how that works.

I'm engaged to my one and only sex partner, so I've never been sexually active and single.

[–]LyaninaBlue Pill7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Define CC? If we mean high double-digits, new guy every month, 0%.

If we say an average of two new guys a year counts (some ONS and STRs and FWBs and LTRs), 25%. Or, you know, 2 women. One (24) has been off it with a boyfriend for over a year, the other (22) has a fuck-buddy thing going on now and I expect she'll have a new partner by the time the year is over.

I haven't.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Define CC?

Having casual sex from 20-30, while trying to "hook" the guy you're having sex with into a LTR.

[–]LyaninaBlue Pill0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Eh, then I'll get back to you when my friend group hits 30. I only have one friend over 30 and she certainly didn't. She's also very happily LTRd with another of my friends; I roomed with them for 2 years and they are so good together it's impressive.

Even the women I mentioned as having ridden the CC were not trying to hook the casual sex guys for LTRs. They had some deliberately casual flings ("He is hot, but dumb as a brick," or rebound sex after a breakup, or just "I'm young and should have fun"), and some relationships.

I can understand going on dates and having sex with the person you're dating before exclusivity and hoping to get a relationship from that, but even the women I know who like a bunch of casual sex don't treat it as a way to get a relationship.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Eh, then I'll get back to you when my friend group hits 30. I only have one friend over 30

I SPECIFICALLY said from 20-30, not over 30.

She's also very happily LTRd with another of my friends

Well of COURSE she's claiming she's happy. She's over 30. That cant be taken seriously. Dont try to excuse people's flaws just because they're your friends.

Even the women I mentioned as having ridden the CC were not trying to hook the casual sex guys for LTRs.

I'm sure they werent.

[–]LyaninaBlue Pill2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You said between 20-30. Most of my friends have not hit 30 yet so I can't say what they did between 20-30.

Well of COURSE she's claiming she's happy. She's over 30. That cant be taken seriously.

Boy you are funny.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You said between 20-30. Most of my friends have not hit 30 yet so I can't say what they did between 20-30.

Are you daft? If someone's between 20-30, regardless of their age, you CAN say what they've done between 20-30. If you're 25, you can say what you've done from 20-25.

Or is this just an attempt at deflecting?

Boy you are funny.

Except it's not a laughing matter. It's EXTREMELY common for people to rationalize and romanticize flaws about them. A woman's fat? Well, that's just because all the guys around her "dont have the equipment for her". Is her beta provider husband asking if she's happy, and she doesnt want to risk rocking the boat, of COURSE she'll say she's happy. If her friends are asking if she's happy in her marriage, of COURSE she'll say she is.

[–]LyaninaBlue Pill2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Or is this just an attempt at deflecting?

Nah, I initially read it as you meaning it being a continuous thing, throughout the entire decade. My original answer still applies anyway, so what do I need to deflect for?

I lived with this woman's boyfriend for a year, then with them both as a couple for another year. I never asked if they (not just her!) were happy. It's obvious. They work together, they live together, they are passionate about similar things, they have known each other for years. You don't know anything about them; you just decided because she is over 30 she's probably lying about being happy.

I really have no reason to care what you think about them. They are my friends, were my roommates until a few weeks ago, and believe me or not, they're both pretty brilliant. They have some complaints about life, but their relationship is not one of them.

A woman's fat? Well, that's just because all the guys around her "dont have the equipment for her".

Where the fuck are you pulling this from.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They work together, they live together, they are passionate about similar things, they have known each other for years.

See, the problem is that doesnt tell me anything. I cant objectively gauge their happiness from this. I can only make educated guesses.

you just decided because she is over 30 she's probably lying about being happy.

Statistically speaking, that's the most probably option.

I really have no reason to care what you think about them.

How immature. This has nothing to do about "caring". This is a discussion. You make your point, and I make mine.

they're both pretty brilliant

I'm sure they are. You're definitely not just saying that because they're your friends.

A woman's fat? Well, that's just because all the guys around her "dont have the equipment for her".

Where the fuck are you pulling this from.

http://imgur.com/a/iMw9H

It's EXTREMELY common for insecure fat women. And I say women, because I can only think of one occasion where men do this kind of thing.

Guy standards where you're writing code at 3 AM for some game mod that nobody will ever even play

[–]LittleknownfactsVaguely Uncivil Comment0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

But girls aren't guys, why do you think guy standards would apply?

[–]theiamsamuraiRavishment Realist2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You can't call someone a nerd if they're not really a nerd. Nerds should determine standards for what people should constitute as being a nerd, not women.

[–]LittleknownfactsVaguely Uncivil Comment0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Funny, you don't throw around that argument when people come around here talking about lady-lawyers, lady-cops, or woman-doctors.

[–]theiamsamuraiRavishment Realist2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

When have I ever said that there are no women lawyers or doctors? Boards of qualified professionals who write standardized tests and provide licensure to new professionals determine what the profession entails and who is or isn't a professional of said designation. Random women non-nerds calling non-nerdy guys nerdy is the complete opposite.

There are very few genuine women nerds, and they tend to not be attracted to guys at the same nerdiness level as them. They still want guys who are cooler and more socially apt than they are, and call them nerds to make themselves feel better about the cognitive dissonance of going after bros and players with options.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

My best friend rode the CC hard for about 2 years when she was 18, after she got out of her first LTR (who she lost her virginity to). She writes as a hobby and basically fucked a lot of guys for the story/drama of it, at least it seemed that way to me at the time. We had a huge falling out over it and I cut her off for most of the 2 years, which broke my heart in a way, but I couldn't respect her anymore. It felt that every time we hung out, all she would talk about was the latest episode. I mean, it was bad. Like, 4 guys at once kinda bad. And each guy was a "chapter" in the novel.

I guess she grew out of it but I'm always doubtful of anyone ever really growing out of anything without serious work/commitment to change. She spent about 4 years moving through short-term LTR's. Then she met a really wonderful guy randomly at a music festival; they're married now, and live in a magical treehouse/forest together with lots of animals and a huge garden. He knows about it all. I think it destroyed him a little bit when he found out but he already loved her by then and probably pretends otherwise now. I'm just waiting for her to tell me that she's pregnant. She's very Motherly and has been harping on about that ache in her body to have children for the last few years now.

I only know two women who slut it up, and I'd only call one of them my friend. The rest of my lady friends snagged their LTR in undergrad, married around 25/26, and started popping out babies around 28-30 years old.

I'm a low N count good girl, all my friend's are low N count good girls except for that one who started slutting it up after her 14 year relationship with her boyfriend since high school fell apart.

We're all attractive, college educated, employed, middle to upper middle class women raised in two parent households in suburbia. I grew up with these women, knew them since we we're kids. No instagram party girls, but we'd low-key party with our boyfriends (future husbands).

[–]DemonConsulting4" Dragon1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

None of them and I didn't either. All of my friends are introverted nerds or religious with the most "slutty" one having had a FWB "relationship" for a week with a guy she had a crush on in high school. Her N = 3 because of that, the rest being LTRs including her current one. The rest have an N of 0 - 2, most being in an LTR/ engaged/married with their first or second for years now.

I've never been into the party scene and my entire social cycle is outside it as well so while I witnessed the hookup culture with other girls, I never actually experienced it myself.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't know many details about the sexual history of my friends to be honest, but then again I never really had "close" friends, just people I occasionally hung out with.

As about me, well I suppose it depends on how you define the cock carousel. I never liked casual sex, I tried it once and decided it wasn't for me. I have slept with 5 men including my current partner.

[–]lurflyDevil's Advocate1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The sluttiest friend I had was a girl I knew in my college dorm who went after guys for sport. She never slept with them, aside from a very select few. But she gave and received oral. She would literally pick a target and get herself an in then go for it. She had me play wing girl a few times so I've seen it, wouldn't have believed it otherwise.

All of my close friends are around 10 or less with 90% of partners being from committed relationships. Personally, I never did the cc thing. I have 3 partners from 3-4 year committed relationships, 1 from a 6 month "fling" and 1 umm awkward thing.

I think most men expect to slut it up at the same time as girls early 20/college age, but men's prime slutting age is around 30s. But either their college ambitions left them feeling failed and bittered or with an LTR, so many miss the opportunity.

People who are deeply involved in the pillosphere sometimes forget they are a small minority. Most women don't want to be involved with someone with such regressive attitudes.

[–]darksoldierkPurple Pill1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You think that an attitude where people expect their SO's to make good logical decisions is regressive? Well that's interesting. By that logic, we should all be justified in behaving based solely on our emotions and behaving in any other way is simply regressive.

Men do have the right to have standards regardless of whether or not those standards are liked by women in much the same way that women do have the right to have standards regardless of whether or not those standards are liked by men. Women who aren't attracted to short men, for example, are not called regressive, and that is not even a choice for a man.

Men have as many sex partners as they want and they don't have to be called such an offensive word. In fact, they're highly praised for having many sex partners.

You calling sexually active women "sluts" comes from the premise that women who have many sex partners are less valuable for a relationship than the ones who doesn't. And that, my friend, is a very shitty argument.

I'm prepared to bet money that most men who are so concerned about women's sexual pasts haven't gotten laid much. If that suggests that they are threatened, so be it. You guys are forgetting that most guys in the real world aren't obsessed with women's n count, and most women don't want to date guys that are.

[–]darksoldierkPurple Pill0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

I think that you are significantly underestimating the number of men that care about the woman's sexual history. You also appear to think that quantity>quality. the guys who don't care are likely also the guys who don't have standards since they know their smv isn't high enough for them get laid if they had standards. Having standards is what differentiates the prostitute from the girl you want. Sexual history is an extremely important factor in deciding your standards.

[–]lerellen0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago* (8 children) | Copy Link

Well there's someone for everyone isn't there? I'm cool with both camps. I wonder how this works irl, though; do you expect women to lay out their sexual history, or do you do some sleuthing? Most guys I know don't care much about it. Maybe these issues are regional, or maybe one's political environment is a factor; I know that pill guys tend to be right wing. My question though, is why are you so concerned, is it truly that you feel that 'sluts' are unhinged, or do you measure up. Anyway, I wasn't aware we were talking about prostitution. Are you equating sluts with prostitution?

[–]darksoldierkPurple Pill0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

the concern is whether or not she will leave, take my children and my money. If she has had a lot of partners, it indicates that that is the lifestyle she enjoys, which increases my risk. I make decisions based on the information available since I can't predict the future. As far as how to go about it, it isn't really a taboo subject. it takes some skill on my part, I have to convince her that I don't really care and get her to open up. Or I can wait and keep myself at a distance emotionally.

[–]lerellen0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

You're with someone you don't trust and to whom you have to lie? (covertly) Why are you considering marriage to her? I'm supposing you think that knowing her sexual history will alleviate your fears, but I know of no research that proves this. I think you should be honest with her about your fears; I would want to know if my husband to be was this mistrustful of women.

[–]darksoldierkPurple Pill0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

You're with someone you don't trust and to whom you have to lie? (covertly)

yep, but that's how relationships are for men. It doesn't matter who you are with, as long as the law allows them to take more from you than they deserve, you can't trust them.

Why are you considering marriage to her?

Common law rules are very similar to marriage rules where I live. It basically doesn't matter if you have a piece of paper that says you are married, all you have to do is live together for a year without breaks and she can take everything simply because she has a vagina.

I'm supposing you think that knowing her sexual history will alleviate your fears, but I know of no research that proves this.

And you are right, without a doubt. But, at least in my eyes, a relationship is like a financial investment. You see, with finances, you can't know if the stock is going up or down, there is just no way. There are too many factors. All you can do is try to understand the company, understand it's history, understand it's trends and it's goals and once you do, you make a decision based on the information available. If you follow the information and lose, then you have nothing to be ashamed of, nothing to feel bad for. You did all you can do and it was truly out of your hands. But if you don't even make an effort to understand and simply say "there is no way to predict what happens, so I'm just gunna invest my life savings in this one company and hope for the best" then you are an idiot.

; I would want to know if my husband to be was this mistrustful of women.

He probably is or will be. You need to realize that the law is forcing him to give you everything. That mistrust isn't caused by your husband to be, it's caused by the law and by you. If he takes a chance on you while knowing your history and your risk (assuming you were promiscuous or have a myriad of other personality traits that make you 'high risk'), then he is an idiot. And if you stay with him and treat him right, then he'd simply be a lucky idiot. Either way, the bias in law today degrades women. It paints women as incapable of being trusted unless a very high set of standards are achieved.

[–]lerellen0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

I know that you are right about the way men are treated in the family courts. And I know what i would do because I've been there. My first husband and I divorced when our daughter was 3; for 2 years I asked for no child support or any other money. I could afford it, and he needed to go back to school. He has a degree in business and he just couldn't be a businessman (it's a long story). After that, I only got the minimum child support from him. We couldn't stay married but we still were close; I don't understand women who seem to want to ruin men's lives. We were great co parents because we were friends. I believe I daughter greatly benefited from it.

What's to be done? The court situation is destroying relationships between men and women and their children; the manosphere has been up in arms about it for years, yet has anyone challenged the court system? Not that I know of. i wonder why.

[–]darksoldierkPurple Pill0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No one can challenge it because that is the world we live in. Men don't have a voice, or rather, men's voices are ignored. Why? Because in order to make the system equal, rights have to be taken away from women. So, here is what has to happen, and here is what is happening. Men have to retract. They have to increase their standards. They have to make impossible for women because only when it is impossible for women will women attempt to make the changes in our society. As I said, men's voices don't even matter when it comes to wanting to be a father. They are literally ignored. Society dictates when a man can and can't be a father. You want the child but she wants to abort? Oh, looks like you can't be a father! You and the mother had a falling out and divorced? Oh, looks like you can't be a father! The woman cheated on you and didn't tell you that the child you believed was yours isn't? Oh too bad, looks like you have to be a father! Men literally aren't given the ability to choose their parenthood, they have no voices. They are treated like machines, like objects whose purpose is to financially support women, to physically protect women, to serve women. They are forced to give up their money, their jobs, their lives simply to make women feel better. That is what men are in our society, they are less than scum. They have no value. They aren't allowed to have a value.

So, you treated your ex well, Good for you. If you tell me you slept with 100 men but you also tell me about your ex, and assuming both are true, I probably would trust you. It's a little fucked up that all a woman has to do to be trust worthy is prove that isn't out to ruin another person's life, and it's more fucked up how few women have been able to prove that.

What part of that is so unrealistic?

There are plenty of people who don't use reddit, and many of them hang out with one another. It's not hard to imagine a handful of close friends, none of whom are on here.

And even if they know someone who uses reddit, that person might only "use" it in the sense that they browse for memes and news. And even if they comment, there's an excellent chance they aren't commenting here. There are only 12,000 subscribers to PPD, and an exponentially smaller number of active commenters.

Just one of my friends had extensive casual sex that I know of.

She went to school at a maritime academy, so there were way more men than women. But she only did that for one or two years, and since then she's been in one LTR for about 3.

[–]pinkgoldrose0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I have only one friend who takes dating casually and says she doesn't want to have kids in the future. She dates guys without defining the relationship and moves on if someone else comes up.

In college the "sluttiest" girl I knew was all talk and no sex. She told everyone she was bisexual and talked about her vibrator. She was a big flirt, but she didn't actually sleep with anybody. She went around aggressively looking for guys in different programs. It worked because she found herself a boyfriend and I would say it was the best boyfriend anyone found.

The actual sluttiest girl I knew in college was in a friends with benefits situation with an older guy (phd student praying on freshmen girls) where she was in love with him and he wasn't. She kept sleeping with him whenever he showed up even though he told her he didn't want to date her. Maybe she slept with another guy at some point.

Everyone else was/is either single or in LTRs.

Most of my friends were/are in several long term relationships with some gaps in between where they dated casually, which has been my pattern as well. Most of my closest friends are married or in solid LTRs now, including the slutty ones.

And how many is "several"?

2 to 4 on average I'd say

~10-20%. A couple friends were huge sluts, the rest didn't seem to have sex outside of dating or relationships.

I did not and do not, as I have been in one relationship or another since I was 15.

outside of dating or relationships.

and how often did these happen?

Idk it varies pretty widely. Some had relationships that would last 1-2 years, others couldn't manage to lockdown a long term boyfriend but would hook up with the guy they were dating. On average, they probably had 1-3 new partners a year in college (the non-slutty ones).

My really slutty roomate hooked up with over 30 guys in less than a year after ending her LTR. Another good friend hooked up with a similar number during her first year of college. Neither were particularly attractive. There is a huge variance.
