Just wondering if anyone out there has actual data on how many divorced men end up paying alimony and what the average payment/length of time they have to pay are?

RPers spend a great deal of time whipping each other into a panic over "divorce rape", but I have never once seen them link to actual data regarding alimony. All you see are hyped up stories about some celebrity divorce, where is the real data?

(yes I have looked it up, but I wonder how many RPers have actually bothered to)

RP, would it make a difference to you if the actual numbers were higher or lower than what is normally claimed over at TRP? How high do the numbers have to be to make it a significant issue?

BP, how reasonable do the claims from TRP that "divorce rape" is so high it's not worth getting married sound to you? If you wanted to marry would they make you hesitant?
