I read about this! A shelter put this ad out to get more attention for a dog in need of a home. They got tons of calls from confused men, but the dog did get adopted!

I mean, men were faced with independent wolves and they’re the ones who bred wolves into the pack-animal, hierarchical “man’s best friend” dog that we have today. A lot of breeds treat you well if they think you’re above them and poorly if they think they can dominate you. That a dog is -broadly - their idea of the perfect companion says more about men than it does about dogs.
