How is helping people with mental illness have anything in relation to oppression against women. These protesters make me sick to my core, one of the worst displays of human indecency I have ever seen. How could they even called themselves SJWs or ERPs if they pull shit like this. If the situation was for anyone else than these people would back it, but once you make it about those most likely to kill themselves, you shut it down because it is designed for men. I remember this event. What’s sad is the part this video left out: Where the poor gentleman who’s friends committed suicide had a pretty young woman screaming the most vial and heinous insults to his face as he stoically took it all in. If any Man said even a quarter of what she said, Gandhi would’ve knocked him out! But because she was a woman, he just had to take it. I hope she later saw just how morally bankrupt she was in that moment and changed, or else I hope there’s a special place in hell for her.

Hi guys, I am encouraging reasonable resistance to this nonsense, This is sick. I posted to r/feminism but it's awaiting approval. Spread the word, use your voice, your allowed. don't spam but if there is a page you think may take this and consider it, consider a crosspost. If you see something a guy wouldn't get away with, point it out. Many will ignore you. But be patient, be calm, be disciplined.

I posted this in the hopes some of you might get the courage to do the same. Because we are society and we need to address it. Women went through this, the blueprint is there. Try to be patient and reasonable. Be decent yourself and ask for equality. I may have missed the mark somewhere, and plenty will argue my point.

But start the conversation from a reasonable and stable and decent point of view.

You asked how to help. Remember equality. Don't overcorrect. Don't Judge. Don't seek to punish. Aim for true north.

Equality

We need to restore balance, calmly.

When you address people, consider they could lack awareness, be overprotective, abused, they may have an undiagnosed condition like ADHD that has destroyed their life time and again. Address the need for balance clearly but don't attack. Don't question what you know nothing about. Be clear and honest. Be supportive to reasonable statements, recognize peoples input if you support it. it helps them and that matters.

The Feminist movement has toxic elements like most groups do. We do ourselves no favors by lowering our standards and behaving aggressively

I've experienced on two occasions, that people whom were close to me committed suicide. One who were 19, and another one who was 43.

And I feel absolutely disgusted by this. How can someone actually be wanting to shut down an important event such as this.

As someone who struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts on a daily basis, this hits way too close to home. The fact that someone actually saw an event dedicated to spreading awareness for men struggling with serious mental health issues and saw it as some kind of personal attack is sickening. How narcissistic do you have to be in order to take something like this and make it about yourself? It's no wonder the suicide rate for men is so high, we're constantly told to stfu and "man up" even by those claiming to be against traditional gender roles.

This event was a speech by Warren Farrell at the University of Toronto. Suicide was just one of the topics he was covering, he was also covering a range of other topics where men face discrimination from homelessness to educational attainment. But it was not a suicide awareness event as such and labelling it as a suicide awareness event when it wasn't just leaves the very valid point that the feminists here were outrageously unreasonable open to deflection.

Why don't we talk about this event too? We're all so busy being outraged at feminists that we're not even trying to discuss the event. Who organized it? Will there be more? Where can I find out more?

In this subreddit there is always a lot of talk about helping men, but in practice you always end up just complaining about feminists. I can't stand feminism either, but complaining like children won't make it go away, what you have to do is organize events like the one in the video and promote them.

As a man, I spend a lot of time bringing up mens issues. Notably our mental health, suicide rates, and the way we're unfairly treated in the legal system compared to our female counterparts.
