Since he didn't do it publicly, gonna echo the words of [BRO_NAME]:
"Apparently it's international men's day today. Shouts out to my bros who are dealing with dude stuff, [MY_NAME] who actually posts a lot to encourage others to think about dude stuff, to my dad [BROS_DAD_NAME] who taught me about being a man, and to all the dudes who are trying to figure out how to be a man and dealing with some social patterns that devalue their masculinity.
Dudes, there are some serious, hard core things we have to deal with, and western society often tells us that being troubled by those things is a sign of weakness. It's not. If you're dealing with depression or feeling like you don't have anything to offer the world, remember who built the empires of civilization and protected their families. If you feel trapped between maleness and the expectations of your society, know that there are places where men act correctly like men and aren't condemned for it; look for those places. If you're in a bad situation where you're trapped by social convention about men being violent... well, admittedly there isn't a lot of social safety net; just get out however you can. Walk and leave it behind, it's not your fault, don't let words stop you. Just go. Find a new place.
Being a dude is an excellent thing, not a shameful thing."

Fellow men, the world we live in is a challenging one. Through a pendulum effect, groupthink overreactions, false statistics, and some selfish activists, we are surrounded by traps and pitfalls. The family itself is threatened since many men are not interested in braving the potential dangers of marriage. Children are often being raised with no male influence, or worse, taught (indoctrinated) that men are by default horrible people.
When I think about my friend whose father worked himself to death, literally, to pay for court fees while his ex-wife made perjury and harassment an art form, and then about my own father who didn't even see a point in fighting to be a bigger part of my life, it crushes my heart. (No blame on you, Mom, it was a society thing)
I think today it's important not to lose hope. There are people out there, men and women both, who see this and who fight to correct it. We are a community, the Brotherhood of Man, and the only way for us to correct sexism of ANY kind is to stand together and speak from a loud, rational place. Sexism in any form is wrong, be it Turkish women no longer having balconies to enjoy some fresh air or American men being afraid to date in University lest they should become the target of an unsuspected and unfounded rapist witch-hunt.
Let's all redouble our efforts to raise awareness, to educate ourselves, and to stand up for those who are too afraid or too defeated to find their voice.
Let's keep ‪#‎InternationalMensDay‬ in our hearts and remember the ideals of equality and love that we all aspire for.

This day needs to be way more mainstream. I think we all need to understand the importance of speaking up for our fellow men. We are always seen at the top of the power pyramid but I think people are looking in a small lense. Most of us are barely getting by and struggling with many issues. We need to make this something people are talking about.
