"Let's take a family picture!" she says after the preschool graduation (lol a preschool graduation jfc),

We aren't a family. Did you forget that you broke our home apart. Do you know how many times I've had to listen to both kids cry that they just wished mommy and daddy were married. Cried that they don't understand why they're different from all the other kids. How in the absolute fuck am I supposed to answer that?! I sure as hell can't tell them the truth because that's looked down on for "bad mouthing the other parent."

You want me to keep perpetuating a false reality where we're a family...except...mommmy and daddy do not live together. Mommy 100% does not give a fuck about daddy. It's all performative and I'm just supposed to act like this is all ok? I'm supposed to feed my kids nonsense because "KiDs ArE rEsiLliAnT!"

Remember that divorced parenting class certificate we had to get? The one that was filled with stats about how much worse it is for children of divorce across all categories. I'm supposed to pretend like our kids will be the exception...none of this will affect them....because...."kIdS aRe ReSiLliAnT!"

"I'm organizing a family day for the company and it's something we can do together." IN-FUCKING-SANITY!

The Lion, The Witch, and the audacity of this...

You honestly think I want to come and pretend like "It's all good." in front of your coworkers and Boss that you, at minimum, had an emotional affair with. You know...the dude you told me was known for being a Flirt but don't worry. I honestly can't tell which is worse - 1) you've got good intentions and can't understand why I would absolutely not be excited about attending a "Family Day" you are organizing. 2) you're doing this intentionally just to humiliate me.

The worst part...I don't hate you. I hate myself so much for all the red-flags I ignored. I will be tied to you forever and I only have myself to blame.
