The really short story. Today was mediation. We started at 9:30am. The opposing party, the ex-wife showed up at 10:30 with no explanation. They gave an unreasonable high proposal. We countered with an unreasonably low offer. It's a negotiation, after all. The mediator came back and said they said it wasn't good enough and try again. We said we won't negotiate against ourselves, so get them to give a counter. 5 minutes later the mediator comes back to tell us that their response was "we'll see you in court" and they turned off zoom and left. It's a long term marriage, they want half my salary in alimony until both of us are retired. In court it is a possibility.
