My narcissist ex once told me about how he used to chat to girls online. It was not important to get a positive reaction, but ANY reaction. He flat out TOLD ME that he insulted women in the first message and when they replied what is wrong with him and why he would write that, he would manage to turn the conversation around into a more positive tone. A woman giving him ANY attention, even negative attention was better than being ignored. (A moment of silence for my former stupid af pickme self who did not dump his manipulative ass then and there.)

The reason why we get so much hate for ghosting is that we refuse to give them attention and power over us. We refuse to give them ammunition to manipulate other victims. Block and delete sets you free and gives you the possibility to care more important things than the mindgames of scrotes.

Keep that in mind when you're about to send that long message. Block and delete. Reach out to a friend and save that thoughtfulness and effort for someone who deserves it.
