I have a friend who likes really nice experiences. When we were younger, I frequently had to say, “That place is out of my budget.” We’d then figure out somewhere else. This is standard when one can’t afford something. 🤷🏻‍♀️

He needs to cut his losses now, not think that he can somehow charm her now and she won’t care about his financial situation later. And I’m not saying that money is everything; I don’t believe that. People just need to be honest about whether they can meet people’s expectations, and don’t try to force it (like this dude) if they can’t.

Wishy-washy weak sauce bullshit. First, if it’s not a date, why can’t you speak up? Is it because it IS a date, in the secret sneaky Nice Guy style, and you don’t want to torpedo your chances? If he’d had the balls to just ask her on a date and actually plan it, he wouldn’t be dealing with this.

I hate this stupid concept of the first date of you scoping out a potential partner so don't go above and beyond. FIRSG IMPRESSIONS MATTER.

I completely understand if he can't afford a expensive resturant, and yes he could negotiate a new venue but the advice he is receive for this 'good Samaritans' is appalling!

But there are plenty of great restaurants that's are affordable and have great decor and food. Also, I hate that they are convincing him that she's after a free meal, if she has a higher income than him (like they are suggesting) why would she need to get freebie off of him if she can afford it already? Lol, your wallet isn't that important and she isn't after your money if she is clearly the one who can afford to dine at the venue and you can't.
