Finally a story about a woman leaving the loser! Hopefully she kicks him out and focus on getting therapy to help with her mental health. I had to unsubscribed to all the relationships and dating sibreddits earlier because they were driving me crazy with how many women were asking for advice but won't listen to anyone but the men telling them to "communicate." I got my first hate message too, calling me a misogynist and troll lol. All for telling a woman to leave her boyfriend.

Good for her. Being a nurse is hard work. Its emotionally and physically taxing. You can harden yourself to some things, but child deaths are generally not something nurses can just block out. Something about children dying is different. I cant imagine how devastating that is for her. I hope she speaks to someone about her loss.

Wow. I mean, I get money is tight and quitting a job could be financially devastating. But you encourage your partner to seek counseling, and if possible transfer to an area of nursing that doesn't require care of children. There's a LOT of options besides, "grow up and get over it."

The fact he knows she's saved money up to leave him if he goes off on her is very telling.

I have a friend who did end of life care and no longer does for this exact reason. Folks who don’t understand how traumatic watching so many people die, naturally or not, probably need some deep psych evals.

I’m proud of her, as well. Nurses are very special kinds of folk and I can’t imagine how hard it is to be ok when you aren’t.

The comments on that post are so infuriating. So many comments saying she's in the wrong for "suddenly quitting her job and not telling her husband" and that she needs to communicate with him even more ofc and even saw one comment that claimed that by quitting her job (DUE TO BEING TRAUMATIZED) "she showed him as much respect as he showed her it needs to be a unilateral decision etc".

Holy fuck. I cannot. I am so glad she left him and hope it stays that way. Why do people give this advice, almost exclusively to women? To stay and communicate till this brick wall of disrespect and lack of emotions? Why? It's so soul draining and useless what the hell.

The lack of empathy for women in these situations is SCARY. What the fuck.

Seriously: fuck this guy. I volunteer in a hospital and get a mild anxiety reaction whenever a code blue or rapid response alert goes out hospital-wide. What the nurses do day in and day out is certainly beyond my ability to do or deal with and if one day they can't anymore, their spouse should be backing them up 100%.

Nursing is a tough job and not everyone is cut out for it but that's perfectly ok!!! I bet his job isn't even half as tough as hers. He should be supportive and encouraging instead of making her feel like a failure. I'm happy the incident lead to her freedom!
