Men can propagate misandry and other anti-male attitudes in a number of ways.

*Any time a man attacks another man for not meeting some sort of masculine ideal: height, penis size, muscular build, libido, number of sexual partners, etc.

*Any time a man attacks another man for meeting the above criteria.

*When discussing men’s issues, framing the situation as “men are the problem” instead of zooming in to the cause of the problems that men face and why they happen. Menslib does this quite a bit.

*When discussing men who are chronically alone or sexually starved, framing those men as if they must be bad people because a women’s judge of character is iron clad and they only reward the most worthy men with love and sex.

*continuing to defend abusive women when the evidence points to the man being the victim in a violent situation.

*Reacting with hostility and derision when a man complains about an injustice.

*This is the biggest and most common one of them all: simply not giving a shit about the well being of other men.

Complete disregard or even antipathy for other men unless they share some feature in common. This is something I’ve noticed about us as a gender that is both depressing and fascinating at the same time and I’m 99% sure it is rooted in our animal instincts.

Most men seem to have an aversion to grouping together and helping each other based on sex. It isn’t just something we don’t think of, men will actually show disinterest, disgust and even outright anger at the idea of a group dedicated to helping men based on gender alone. You have to instead “disguise” it as helping men from a certain race, certain city or certain organization. It’s like we will accept the flimsiest cover as long as there is plausible deniability that you’re trying to help men as a whole.

I don’t know if this is exactly misandry as much as it is an insane and irrational tribalism that bypasses higher thought in a lot of people.

Using the word incel in any context except to describe someone who self-identifies as an incel.

The word has been weaponised (especially by women on social media) to shame men, but other men also do it to an extent. Being called an incel when you aren't one sucks, and I'm still not sure if guys hate it because it implies they're a social outcast or that they can't get laid, but either way it's just used to invalidate a guys opinion based on completely misandristic virtues.

Shaming the sexuality of other, often more awkward men. Saying: every man is responsible for preventing (sexual) violence against women. They should stop other men, as if every men moves around in violent male circles. Saying ‘we men are responsible for we are the perpetrators’. Shaming other men for ‘toxic masculinity’ when they like traditional men’s things. In general the whole goodmenproject and men’s lib thing: the classic throwing other men under the bus to please women, but sneakier because under a ‘liberated’ cover.

White-knighting: Many men subscribe to misandrist ideas in order to get attention (or at least try to) from a (usually feminist) woman.

The urges of white knights to be perceived as "desirable" or "virtuous" by (usually feminist) women, makes them replicate ideas based on inherently misandrist ideological terms like "patriarchy" or sexist biased concepts like "women are always victims, men are always perpetrators"

I think it pretty much boils down to one simple thing: white knighting. Any time a man puts down other men, its most likely because he's trying to raise his own status in respect to the men he's putting down, thus currying favor with women. "I'm one of the good ones." #1 of your examples definitely fits into this category, although they are expressed in different ways. The grandpa conservative-types phrase it as more of a "all men are beasts" type of thing and your modern woke ally feminist phrases it more as "watch out for the incels and neckbeards". I suppose #2 belongs more firmly to conservatives, but I wouldn't be surprised if many male feminists were secretly thinking that as well. They are only pretending to be woke. Either way, both the overly sensitive male feminist* and the cocksure jock who bullies nerds* fit into this archetype.

It's hard to think about examples that don't involve women because the desire for sex and companionship is such an important part of life that influences so many things we do. Especially when talking about men because sexual success is used as a measuring stick for a man's value. Men are expected to do 100% of the pursuing so of course most of what most men do is going to somehow be about women. For many men, its their main goal in life and how they internalize their own self worth. For better or for worse. I don't think many women let alone most feminists understand what it feels to run an internal monologue of "how will this affect how the opposite sex sees me" for every single action they take.

The funny thing I've noticed is that if you take the even the most toxic "bro" mentality guy in the world and catch him alone, more often then not they'll drop the act and be super friendly with even the most non-traditional type of guys. As soon as women walk into the room though, suddenly its a different ball game, and everything is about jockeying for advantage.

To me this proves that if men existed in a vacuum without women, we could get along very civilly. Its the presence of women that is a problem. Not because women themselves are a problem, but because society hands all the power to women in determining a man's value.

Men are very competitive with each other and tear each other down. It makes sense since the male role has always been to compete with other men for limited resources so that we can provide for a family. But resources aren’t as limited as they once were

Not to be a pedant, but is this a sound concept if it is based on vague notions of propagating and reinforcing? I don’t think there is generalized misogyny or a patriarchy. I think those first examples are just straight up, stand alone acts of sexism against women.

The examples here of misandry seem to mostly be the same - straight up acts of anti-male sexism. but in relation to some larger environment or institutions of misandry, where we are pinning down a dynamic? Well, I am confused as to whether they are cause, effect, or just nothing systemic - simply drifting, meaningless, flurries of sexism.

Maybe something like the military draft would be more structural, generalized misandry?
