I absolutely despise false accusations, but there is more to this. He had a history of physically assaulting women, had been kicked off the Penn State team, projections had dropped him to 3rd round or below before he was charged, and was indicted on second-degree felony sexual assault. Indictment shows that there was definitely enough evidence for him to be charged. I despise false accusations, but "not guilty" does not show malicious intent.

He was never considered to be the top pick in the draft in 2016, he had down year his last year in college. 1st round was even a stretch at the time. If he eneterd the draft a year earlier he would have easily been a first round pick and theoretically might have avoided that whole situation

afaik the only way he will get any kind of redemption or restitution will be if he can prove it affects his future ex-wife too.

In this point, he'd have to prove he would get married and elevate some random woman to great wealth (through his blood sweat and tears) and by him not having that wealth makes this random woman suffer b/c she missed out on taking his wealth.

Then once this news gets out that a woman lost out on money the world will band together, march and protest for at least her getting the restitution while somehow still leaving him to pay for alimony.

People will just think, “oh, isn’t he the guy who raped someone? How did he get out of prison so quickly?” This is sad and disgusting.

People like to downplay the importance of false rape accusations against men, but I think false accusations occur a lot more often than a lot of people like to believe they do. Sure, the statistical percentage of false rape accusations to real ones may be low, but think about this: How many of these false accusations never make it far enough to go to court, but still ruin someone’s reputation? Then the person who was accused tries to defend themselves and they end up just getting shunned and shutting down, thinking their feelings are invalid. I suppose the same argument could be made for real rape accusations, but if it’s a real rape case, it’s much more likely to go to court.

False allegations like this are already illegal but they're never prosecuted because the DA will lose their next election if they bring charges against a woman for this, and they know it. If he's got the money he can sue her ass off in civil court but she likely doesn't have anything worth taking and can just dodge any liens, etc by leeching off others forever.

If the false accusation was not accidental / misinterpretation, but in fact intentionally false he should be able to go after the accuser ... civilly ... for about $25 million USD ... and would likely well win it. But ... good luck on collecting it. Also, with intentional false accuser, DA should be able to and go after that person - there generally are criminal penalties for that. And hopefully the statute of limitations clock doesn't start ticking when the accusation was made, but rather when it became clear that the accusations were intentionally false. So ... filing false police reports? Perjury? I didn't follow the case/reports, so I don't know what the evidence is/isn't ... but knowingly and intentionally making false statements, that's generally filing false police report(s) and/or libel/slander - criminal and/or civilly against which action can be taken.

Most accusations are true - great ... listen, generally believe, etc.

Unfortunately too, a non-trivial percentage (about 10%?) are false. So, do some reasonable due diligence - don't presume all accusations are true and correct - genuinely, or (also happens) mistakenly made, ... or that they aren't in fact intentionally false ... check 'em out. And matters not the gender of the accuser and accused. Check 'em out, don't presume too much. Benefit of the doubt is one thing, but blindly following/believing - and without reasonable due diligence to attempt to check/verify - that's quite another.

And too, unfortunately, a lot of cases it just may not be feasible to determine. ... he/she said "vs." she/he said ... no other witnesses, no or nearly no other evidence ... a lot of the time it may not be feasible to determine. And not guilty isn't the same as proven innocent / exonerated ... a lot of the time it can only be determined to somewhere between those extremes. But yes, ... false accusations - there should be (and often are) quite significant penalties/consequences against that - as there well ought be.
