Wow. Are you sure this post isn't a parody?

[–]GingerJack76 125 points126 points127 points 9 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

It certainly seems like it's fake...But then again, Steve Shives did come out and admit he'd rather make friends with people who will shut down those he disagrees with.

[–]ZenPyx 17 points18 points19 points 9 years ago* (10 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I don't think it's real, they've tagged themselves as "#rad fem" which I think is an antisjw word

Edit: Apparently it isn't an antisjw word. Don't kill the speculation guys

[–]ThelemaAndLouise 16 points17 points18 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

You've never encountered a real life self identified radfem?

[–]ZenPyx 10 points11 points12 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

No? I thought that was a word used to disassociate "actual" feminists from the nutcases

[–]ThelemaAndLouise 10 points11 points12 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Unfortunately no. Radfems are the ones who openly want to burn shit to the ground.

[–]ZenPyx 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Fucks sake, I've been using that word. Back in my day, we just called them Feminazis, before antifa came along

[–]DrDarkMD 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Antifa has been around like 30years by now.

[–]ZenPyx 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

OK, before antifa went completely mental

[–]Key_Lime 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They were always mental, but now they actually feel empowered to act upon their delusions.

[–]Greg_W_Allan 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Look up the RadFem Hub and the agent orange files. Australian radical feminists are at least well enough organised to be holding annual conferences.

[–]Mitthrawnuruodo1337 9 points10 points11 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nope. You must be young, I'm guessing? That's a term they call themselves, and have since the sixties.

[–]JestyerAverageJoe 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Radical feminism is real, and it's what you probably think of when you think of feminism.

[–]Ithelda 7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Even if it is, I've seen similar ideas shared when I was a feminist

[–]tetraourogallus 51 points52 points53 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Feminists love speaking for all women, feminism is the by far strongest enforcer of gender roles there is, just their own idea of what a woman should be like.

[–]Key_Lime 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just like how a lot of liberals are super racist and sexist. I'm not trying to drag politics into this, but typically the groups that focus on 'issues' the most seem more likely to enforce predisposed roles or stereotypes.

[–]JebberJabber -1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That was somewhat true of the second wavers, my generation.
The third wave came in from about 1990, they are all about individual choice and deconstructing gender roles.

Radical feminists typically don't get on board with all of the 3rd wave stuff. TERF means Trans-Exclusionary Rad Fem.

Rad fems are kind of rare and best not approached, I don't have anything to do with them.

[+]DangZagnut points 9 years ago* [recovered] (8 children) | Copy Link

Way ahead of you baby cakes. I've been lying to women and pretending to value their opinions for years.

[–]waves-of-the-water 16 points17 points18 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Shit like this is why people won't take us seriously

[–]BigOldNerd 9 points10 points11 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

It was just a standard fire alarm. You use them when someone you disagree with tries to speak.

[–]waves-of-the-water 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Then it wouldn't be a fire alarm

[–]BigOldNerd 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think you are confused. Here's the training video

[–]Th3BlackLotus 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hugh? Is that you?

[–]chambertlo 20 points21 points22 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How about I don't talk to you or acknowledge you at all? Saves me the fucking trouble of dealing with your shit.

[–]xsp4rrow 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And this is why introverts exist

[–]WoodChucking 19 points20 points21 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, then you should put on your big girl panties and grow the hell up.

[–]Daemonicus 176 points177 points178 points 9 years ago (27 children) | Copy Link

Can people seriously stop posting shit from Tumblr, or any other social media site?

This is the equivalent of someone claiming they're the victim of death threats, and homophobia when a 12 year old says "I hope you die, faggot" playing COD.

[–]SantaOrange 38 points39 points40 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree. However it's remarkable how little difference there is between Tumblrinas and academic feminists. The latter group simply uses fancier language.

[–]Lethn 60 points61 points62 points 9 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

No because I'm sick of the idea that people should stay silent about this kind of stupidity and aggression towards free speech. You don't like people talking about this? Go some place else, perhaps to a heavily moderated safe space. These are people who genuinely make up reasons to either jail people and assault them for simply having a disagreement and it should be treated as such.

[–]Daemonicus 14 points15 points16 points 9 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

No because I'm sick of the idea that people should stay silent about this kind of stupidity and aggression towards free speech.

This is Tumblr. The place where people think they're oppressed because someone doesn't recognize their Dragonkin nature... Think about that for a second. Seriously. These are the people you're trying to defend yourself from?

You don't like people talking about this? Go some place else, perhaps to a heavily moderated safe space.

Attacking these people is like getting mad at an autistic child for having a temper tantrum. Not only does it make no sense, but it's detrimental to everyone involved.

These are people who genuinely make up reasons to either jail people and assault them for simply having a disagreement and it should be treated as such.

Should I also get mad when a 12 year old tells me he fucked my mom when I headshot him? Should I go to the authorities and file a complaint against him? Should I confront my mother, and ask her why she has been having sex with an underage person?

They can make up whatever the fuck they want to make up. Attack the people in academics, and politics. Not these morons.

[–]wristcontrol 9 points10 points11 points 9 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Attacking these people is like getting mad at an autistic child for having a temper tantrum. Not only does it make no sense, but it's detrimental to everyone involved.

This is exactly the attitude that has allowed them to be in a position of power in today's society. While people like you shy away from confrontation, they continue eroding our rights away until there's nothing left.

[–]ThelemaAndLouise 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But Tumblr is porn. It's absurd to get upset about pornographers. Pornography is a symptom.

[–]Daemonicus 7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

People who complain on Tumblr have no power... That's why they complain on Tumblr.

You're another one that has failed to actually properly read my comment. I said: "Attack the people in academics, and politics. Not these morons."

Why are you trying so hard to make it seem like people on Tumblr are a target worthy of attention? Efforts should be made to combat politicians, and actual activists that regurgitate lies, and spread misinformation.

[–]dicaparly 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Because this shit started in places like tumblr. Its this infantile, petty bullshit that gave the ideology its platform and led to the new wave rising in politics and academia. Without this petty, stupid shit, academics would still be batshit crazy, but it would be confined to their cult and not be this massive movement of thousand upon thousands of angry, loud, bitchy tiddlers marching through the streets.

[–]ThelemaAndLouise 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It absolutely did not start in places like Tumblr. It started in feminist movements in the 70s.

[–]Elvick 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Some of these long time feminists who are opponents of today's main stream feminism, were around during the shift to what we have today. The Sommers type.

I remember watching an interview with one who actually talked about it. Erin Pizzey talks about her seeing the start of what we've got today too in an online interview. There's so many it's hard to remember which ones say what.

I can't believe there's people that think this shit started on tumblr. This started before tumblr was even a thing.

[–]Daemonicus 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because this shit started in places like tumblr.

No it didn't.

Its this infantile, petty bullshit that gave the ideology its platform and led to the new wave rising in politics and academia.

Wrong. Tumblr is an outlet for confused teenagers, and college kids. These people have had their worldview rocked by bullshit, and they have fallen into the deep end of the pool without learning how to swim.

Without this petty, stupid shit, academics would still be batshit crazy, but it would be confined to their cult and not be this massive movement of thousand upon thousands of angry, loud, bitchy tiddlers marching through the streets.

The Feminists/losers/outcasts in academia are the ones that made Tumblr what it is, not the other way around.

[–]Key_Lime 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Why not both? Tumblr can be mocked and derided as an easy joke. If you want to argue with an 'academic' type, you use a different approach.

[–]Daemonicus 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Easy jokes don't really belong on this sub, and it makes the sub look worse. While you are using it as an easy target, it makes this sub an easy target for people to point to. It's petty.

[–]Lethn 14 points15 points16 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I don't see why I can't go after both, they all deserved to be mocked.

[–]Daemonicus 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Because it's infantile, and only serves as something for others to mock about the MRM.

You can't complain about outside people misrepresenting the movement when they point to outliers, when you're doing something similar. If you want people to take this group seriously, then you need to act in a more serious manner. You need to be able to understand nuance, and apply it properly.

[–]Lethn 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I'll apply nuance where appropriate, you're just posting the exact same shit feminists do when they come over to lecture other people. The real irony here is that when MRAs or people who are agreeing with them do something serious they protest, often violently.

Which is why I have absolutely no problem calling these people what they are, do I have to point out the red pill movie protests that are happening recently?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iI6wExvChaA

[–]Daemonicus 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

How does this Tumblr post have anything to do with that video?

You're flat out ignoring what I'm saying. At no point did I say there was no overlap. At no point did I say you shouldn't criticise the people in that video.

In fact, I'm pretty sure I said to criticise people like that. But a Tumblr post doesn't belong on this sub.

If I called you a faggot, are you going to make a post about it here, saying that an MRA is proving Toxic Masculinity exists?

[–]superhobo666 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How does this Tumblr post have anything to do with that video?

Because it's an example of a societal contempt/dismissal towards men, just like the protests to TRP.

[–]Elvick -1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So random tweets are examples of societal oppression and dismissal of women too then?

It's tumblr dude, just ignore it. Plenty of people know that tumblr is a joke. The rest either don't know tumblr is a thing/don't visit it or are the toxic userbase that makes it the joke it is.

[–]BullyJack -2 points-1 points0 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The reeeeeee in the mra movement is growing. I feel what you're saying. I'm better than that pretty shit I don't like. I don't engage in that shit. You're good.

[–]Terminal-Psychosis 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This type of this is fitting for /sjwhate or even /cringeanarchy,

but it doesn't fit here.

[–]DezypherTheDez 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A randoms opinion that posts on tumblr shouldnt represent nor matter. At least it doesnt mean shit to me.

[–]KevnBlack 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Jeez tell me about it. I was having an argument with a girl acquaintance the other day about this "wage gap" and her evidence was, verbatim, "If you go on Tumblr you can see all the women who say it's true".

[–]Source_or_gtfo 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Trawling the internet to find ridiculous statements from non-notable people doesn't prove or help anything, it's just a circlejerk. Everyone knows there are horrible misandrists out there, many of whom identify as feminists. 1 or 2% of the population could be like this and we'd have enough material to fill a sub. The plural of anecdotes is not data.

[–]Swiss_Cheese9797 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm with this guy. We're focusing too much on the 11 year old feminists on instagram as much as they're focussing on the 12 year old /redpillers.

[–]Gnometard 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That's what they told me about the social justice crowd... look at bill nye

[–]Daemonicus 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And look at what happened to Bill Nye. Even long time supporters have shit all over his new show. He's become a joke.

You combat that by pointing out the flaws, and the extremism. You don't take easy shots at easy targets. Tumblr isn't a platform that people care about. They literally have no power to do anything.

Are you going to starting fighting with your grandma on Facebook every time she posts a chain letter? This is the same thing.

[–]McFeely_Smackup 11 points12 points13 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"I'm scared of rape" is the Feminist version of a Harry Potter spell that fixes anything you broke.

[–]Not_Just_Any_Lurker 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I feel like "I'm scared of being accused of rape" is the mra version of the feminist spell that doesn't fix shit.

[–]Classicpass 11 points12 points13 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Allevil669 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]JoeBender1 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is a PSA to all women.

When a man performs a sex act on you that you didn't consent to, you need to pretend to consent. Because when I, a non-raping male, hear false rape accusations, I get scared. The amount of false rape accusations in this world means you are trying to intimidate us. And if you continue to report rapists because you arrogantly believe that you are doing the right thing, it is a slippery slope to misandry and abuse of the legal system as a weapon against all men.

/parody

[–]majortom22 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What's sad is you can't at all tell satire from the real thing anymore. This is so bad it has to be a parody of itself.....or....just as likely is that yes they're really this bad.

[–]wigglenipple 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because women are just so fragile that they would rather have you placate them then treat them like a person. Fuck, man. This is more limiting than any opposing opinion could be.

[–]RunawayGrain 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Someone should have replied "No you're wrong."

[–]Lucretius 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

...when a woman hears "No, you're wrong." we get scared.

This is insane... literally insane... as in clinically unwell. One can tell that this is dysfunction by the fact that it is preventing the author from engaging in normal non-threatening activities... such as polite discourse. (Saying "No, you're wrong." IS polite discourse. The author might have be more justified in feeling threatened if she were objecting to statements like "Bitch, you're fucking wrong!"... I apologize for the crudity but it was necessary to demonstrate the difference between polite discourse and something that might actually cause fear in a sane individual). Fear, when not appropriate, is called paranoia it is a real clinical condition that can be life threatening!

I submit, that by constructing the myth of western modern rape culture, feminists are enabling psychological conditions that threaten the well-being and possibly the very lives of the people they supposedly are interested in protecting.

[–]McCowan- 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No way this is real.

[–]ecksdeeeXD 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]TheDongerNeedsFood 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I actually stopped talking to my best friend because he was dating a girl who was the personification of a radical feminist. She would post things like this and would try to back them up when you would challenge her on it. She also told you to read a book when she knew you were winning an argument. So people like this do exist.

[–]TheDrunkenMagi 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is why we have the wage gap. If women can't learn to rise up to challenges, they will never develop the skills they need to achieve equality to men.

And if you haven't taught your children to fight through fear by the time they are adults, you have murdered them. The human species has no need for fainting goats.

Woman: The Holocaust was a big lie, which is a shame, because Jewish people surely deserve to be exterminated like the insects they are. The superior Aryan race shall prevail!
