Honestly, I don’t see a problem with the guy paying for dates. I did this all the time with my (ex) gf but it definitely becomes a problem if the girls start demanding you pay for the dates.

That's fine if you and she are both in a similar situation w.r.t. funds, like dating in college.

But when I got a job and was really serious about dating, most of the girls I dated made a fifth or less of what I made. This was a feature, not a bug; the women I dated were interested in having a family and had chosen occupations that gave them that flexibility.

If you believe that it's okay to have gender roles, and one partner is gearing up to support a family while the other partner is gearing up to be the primary caregiver, there's nothing wrong with the breadwinner paying for dates.

My husband and I met when we were both in our late 30s. So until then I had been independent, paying my own mortgage and other bills. Now that we’re married, I still pay all my (our) bills like the mortgage and electric, mainly because I do make more $ than him. But he helps out by paying for all the other stuff like groceries and if I need help he will give it, all I have to do is ask. What he doesn’t spend on bills, he puts in our savings for a future home we’re planning on. And because of this, our relationship isn’t stressed and everyone is happy.

So ya, equality. It’s extremely important in a healthy relationship.

I can happily report in the past four months I’ve had women pay for my food and I got laid in the same day. I have no idea how I pulled it off but I did.

Idk, i just enjoy inviting people and paying for them. Like if i have money, i gladly pay for drinks to my friends and partner. I dont need a partner to split the dime with me 50/50, i need somebody who enjoys spending money with me. Maybe this should read "boys go get a real job making some real money so your girl doesn't have to pay for things that are your responsibility". Men have been providing for women since the dawn of time. Almost all activities and products cost more for women - getting your hair cut, beauty products, etc.

For example, it takes 30 mins and $10 to get my hair cut. I do this on a Saturday afternoon and spend the next 2.5 hrs doing contract work. I net $240. My girl will spend upwards of 3 hrs and $60+ at the salon. That's a net of $-60. I have made $350 more than her today due to the huge disparity in time/money spent on male/female hair maintenance. Why would I ever expect her to pay 50/50 of anything when she needs to spend so much on herself?
