If you think that's bad; this case has been going for 6 years, 6 years Johnny has had his life dragged to the mud, lost projects because of her lies, tarnished his image and his family's, his children probably suffered a lot because of it as well, he suffered physical abuse, emotional abuse and detox abuse, he locked himself in the bathroom to avoid her, he took hot showers to calm the side effects of detox because she wouldn't give him his meds, ALL of that and he didn't retaliate which is what she wanted. And now in this trial that lasts 6 weeks he finally gets the opportunity to speak what's on his mind, after being gaslighted for 6 years by Amber AND the media.

Now think about your average man trapped in an abusive relationship who isn't Johnny Depp, who doesn't have millions for the best lawyers, who doesn't have his abuser admitting everything on tape, who doesn't have all of his exes and the public defending him, who doesn't have tons of evidence miraculously recorded...Johnny has all of that and it still has taken 6 whole years for a CHANCE that he can get a bit of justice, and I say a bit because this is a defamation trial, not a criminal one, he didn't sue her for abuse so she isn't gonna spend any time in jail. Even if he wins his reputation suffered a massive blow, he lost work and roles, his children are permanently damaged by it and the abuser is still employed by Warner Bros, L'Oréal and is an ambassador for UN Women.

I don't want to be that person, but flip the genders! If this was the other way around and a man had admitted to doing even slightly close to what AH has admitted to doing, this trial would be over in a single hearing, let alone 7 weeks.

The psychologist report that noted AH gets off on getting violent when JD tries to walk away should be enough to shut this whole case down in JD's favour because it sure as hell would have been all a judge needed to hear if genders were reversed.

I am hopefull about the Johnny Depp case if he wins. This can be a landmark for the Mens rights movement. Johnny Depp is not known as a wussy. He has a badboy reputation. If even he can become victim of violence, it opens the gate to societal understanding of violence against men. Military men, construction workers, lawyers,... men who are known to be strong and succesfull also have to deal with domestic violence perpetrated by sometimes very petite women. If this is finally understood we could start to protect men.

Hopefully judges and juries will start to convict women, while society may start to put questionmarks next to the 'believe all women' hystery.

I couldn’t figure out why I’ve been so hooked on watching this court case, when otherwise I generally view ‘entertainment news’ as a waste of time. I realise that this case is about more than just Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, it’s a chance for all the men who have dealt with similarly abusive women to finally get the justice they deserve. I’ve known so many guys who’ve had an abusive partner who got away with it simply because they were a woman. IMO it’s a huge reason why marriage and birth rates are at all time lows. Men simply just don’t trust the system anymore, and there’s too much to lose from tying the knot.

I really hope the jury makes the right call, yet I’m still pessimistic. Too many women have made false, unscrutinised and unexamined accusations that have successfully ruined men’s lives and I’ve seen it with my own eyes.

Unfortunately, within the legal system, men's outcome is far less optimistic. But Johnny is doing the right thing and standing up and fighting back. But he will need A LOT of evidence to things to go his way. Morally, society is often more "empathetic" towards women's abuse than men's. I was falsely accused too! By my baby momma who solely just wanted to gain custody over our 5 year old daughter after I threatened to get full custody my self. And keep in mind I done nothing wrong the last weeks prior to this she just blocked me and I figure she didn't want to talk to me anymore, BUT according to the guy she said that I have been stalking, harassing her and threatening her for 4 months.. Even though I came and rescued her from some creepo dude 2 weeks prior..

So yea this shit happens, it happened to me and I was dumbfounded by this. I literally couldn't believe that this was happening and didnt think the judge would of even taken it seriously after hearing my side of the story.. but guess what I was never able to tell my side of the story. The courts were in her favour and never wanted to hear my side of the story. I tried sending in the evidence and they rejected it saying that it has to be done a certain way. Which I did but then it would get rejected again telling me to also do this, and that. They kept doing this till 2 weeks was up and then the ppo was permanent.

I gotten a ppo from my ex baby mamma over false accusations plus lies, and I was never allowed to tell my side of the story!

I feel for him, but its sooo hard to watch the videos with him stuttering or pausing during sentences. I find I dont want to be around people like that and will try to get away from the conversation as quickly as possible. As an actor I would have hoped his lawyers gave him some advice on how to influence jury members and not annoy them. This is a potentially annoying one or more members of the jury, making their time there less enjoyable and could potentially cause a subconscious bias against him.
If someone was deciding my fate or in favor/against me, I would be thinking about presenting myself favorably to them both in the case and as a person in general.

Based on the evidence in this trial and the events that happened up to this point, both have evidence* of abusing each other. The whole relationship was toxic so it shouldn't be a team anyone. Depp issues with substance abuse and Heard's abusive and manipulative nature was not good for each other and had both of them taking shots at each other. This case definitely didn't open up any eyes. We can't accept Depp as this victim since he also was the abuser. Just going off the facts reviewed in the case and made public. Now this could change when we get more of Heard's side of things and their witnesses but so far, both are wrong here.
