I had a "discussion" not too long ago about the double standard in Hollywood, where male actors in action movies were expected to work out for months upon months, and then deprive themselves of water so that they looked the best they could for their shirtless scene, whereas women being sexualized in any capacity was seen as an egregious overstep of the patriarchy.

I pointed out that the arguments against my statement were going to dismiss what men go through and instead bring up how "bad" women have it, which was met with multiple "rebuttals" of people dismissing what men go through, then focusing on how "bad" women have it.

They failed to see the irony.

When I was 12 there was a lady who worked in a corner shop right up from the highschool I went to. Boys from the school would go in there and she was always saying things like "I got a job for you at my house". Things like mowing lawns, cleaning out gutters etc, even then it was obvious what she was doing, it was well known she was paying for these chores in sex but there was no outrage. This is why I believe the actual rape statistics are skewed. I looked at the data, most rape cases have no conclusive evidence to directly point to a perpetrator. Outside of social stigmas, there is no way rape statistics can be reported accurately. So a man even speaking up has an even lower likelihood of getting someone convicted vs a woman.

When I was in college a gf asked me to come with her to a “Take Back The Night” rally because she was thinking about talking about her sexual assault. We do talk about being raped, it just doesn't usually end well.

The first time set me back about a decade in my healing process, the second time I took my time and found a therapist I trust with my life and only then after working with her for years opened up to her about it and have been working on it ever since. At first she was like why did you hide this from me for literary almost a decade if anything she seemed mad and made one remark that hiding this from her was wasting her time and not helping me(which is totally true and valid I just had to know I could trust her not to do a repeat of therapist #1 on me, that would have literally broken me for good), so I told her how it went the first time I opened up to a therapist about it and then she went from being mad at me for not telling her to wanting to have the first therapists license pulled, it was the first time I have seen her show real emotion during a session in 9 years and she was pissed off to level 1000. Turns out that wasn't necessary as the first therapist had already moved back to the UK, turns out I wasn't the only one she did what she did to and others did lodge formal complaints(i was in no way in a stable enough mental state myself at the time or I also would have lodged a complaint as well, I'm glad there are stronger men than me out there to do so) and she ran back to the UK instead of facing any repercussions for her harmful actions here in my country.

And I don't even want to think about my one interaction with the police over this matter, let's just go with they shouldn't have badges and literally refused to do their jobs although it was much much much worse than that. Its just not something I can relive right now so ill leave it at that.

It is the same and the only difference is that men and women are conditioned to react differently from unwanted touching from the opposite sex. Women are specifically raised to see unwanted touching by men as traumatic and something to respond to with hatred, anger and violence. It is an extreme response that is inherently rooted in misandry, and a woman being touched that way would not respond so aggressively when touched by other women.

Men are raised to see unwanted touching by women as harmless, something to feel lucky about and something they're expected to just accept/take freely. This is also an extreme response, and it is inherently rooted in both a scarcity mindset for men(because most men do not get that much female attention) and a systematic adoration for women. Men will still often react aggressively when touched by other men, because they see it as aggression themselves.

All of these responses are taught. They are all a product of how we systematically and culturally value women over men. These responses also clearly have more to do with who is doing the touching than the touching itself. If we lived in a world where it was deemed acceptable for white people to touch whoever they want but not okay for black people to touch anyone, this would be understood as an evidence of racism.

Part of being a woman should be about standing up for yourself to. If it goes one way, it should go both ways.

A dog should be able to defend itself against someone that is abusing them, regardless of their disavantages and should not be put down for it. After all, if you don't wanna be bit, don't antagonize the one with sharp teeth.

If men aren't taken seriously by sexual harrassment then woman shouldn't either, point blank.

I am so sick of the "women are always weak and fragile and men are always emotionally and physically strong" not only stereotyping but straight up forcing this stereotype. It's a widely accepted support of abusing yourself while making yourself vulnerable on both ends. Because men have to put up with woman doing this because of the VERY idiotic "men can't hit woman" rule (or otherwise defend themselves again antics like sexual harrassment) while women are looked as more accepted in harrassing because they are "weak" and "vurnerable" and a man can "tolerate it", which is sickeningly dumb.

A woman who has been sexually harrassed and had to get help in order to deal with the harrassment CAN NOT sit there and say someone can't do the same because they are a man. Both women and men should be able to not only fight in whatever way possible against these kinds of things regardless of the opponents gender, but should also be more supported in seeking help.

I am a woman with a few disabilities, including arthritis, but I would not be suing a man for slapping my face or pushing me away when I am the one grinding him. Not just because of legal reasons but because I deserved it. I was the one harrassing him, and he shouldn't be hated for it for it would be a dumb thing for me to do, regardless of weather or not I have disabilities.

Men deserve fairness in terms of gender.

To be fair, I've been sexualy harassed by both men and women. With the women it was generally funny or flattering, annoying at best, but with the men it was uncomfortable at best and at the worst outright traumatizing.

So while it should be wrong for women to do, it's definitely much more dangerous for them if they're the target. To them every situation is like dropping the soap in a prison shower, while for men it's more like being a guard in said prison.
