It’s already widely accepted. “Where have all the good men gone” articles are basically an acknowledgement of hypergamy, but they place the origin of the problem on men failing to live up to women’s standards rather than on the women’s standards themselves. Every time a woman says that a man who is her partner has to enhance her life in some way, she acknowledges hypergamy.

But the trend is more women are working more demanding jobs, and the female breadwinner role is also growing, I think it’s like 30% now. We’ve also had more female grads than males for a little while. So how would this happen in a measurable, objective way if that trend continues

Depends on your worldview though. TRP,although it claims to be amoral, has many of its participants calling for a specific ideology, the same way feminists are ushering in unrestrained hypergamy as the default state for relationships in general

If you are a average to above average dude,this current predicament is sort of good thing for you. Because pussy is yours to the taking as long as you implement TRP principles and women flock towards you like moths to the flame.

Same is true if you are a hypersexual woman with access to men that was never even possible for them in the past.

But.... here's a problem. A LARGE portion of women and men don't want to play this rat race to the bottom. Because they are getting the bad end of the stick in terms of what they want-- women constantly getting pumped and dumped by chads and players, men are startlingly becoming more and more sexless for YEARS at a time nowadays. Hell, its looking like Middle east in some places in terms of male thirst. Which is probably one reason why being a thot is so profitable for many women in recent times.

The inevitable end result is there will be huge counter movement against all this needless suffering so to speak from both genders. Right now, more and more people are already outright moving away from liberalism in many parts of the world due to economic factors such as inequality, and these social problems caused by hypergamy is only going to accelerate this reversal even faster. Atleast in US, democratic party is STILL trying to promote that deeply unpopular SJW identity politics in mainstream platform, and still chasing that "first woman president" title relentlessly, so more men are going to reject this even harder than ever next year.

Add in disasters caused by climate change to this mix and the future looks more and more bleak really.

What? We have known about "female hypergamy" since pretty much forever. It was out politically correct generations which wanted to change the notion, but besides that, everyone knows that you will get dumped / cheaten on with someone better if you don't keep up. That's nothing new.

Well it depends on what you mean by mainstream acceptance.

The term hypergamy as it stands is one borrowed (if not stolen) from India with its caste system. So in a sense the term has acceptance.

Within mainstream academic circles the term could be used when analysing societies which have more rigid social hierarchies (as with the Indian Caste system, or an aristocratic system). It is unclear how useful such a term would be in describing societies with higher levels of social mobility.

This then brings us to thinking generally about mate selection in humans, rather than referencing particular societies.

Herein I would not reference a desire specifically to, through mate selection, climb a social ladder in human females. The reason being it restricts your analysis of general female mate selection to the society's with high degrees of social stratification.

Unless we change the term to mean that women on average will seek out men, as long term sexual partners, who are perceived as being able to reliably provide security and (broadly speaking) economic support for at least as long as the woman is vulnerable due to being very pregnant and or caring for a human child.

Within long term mate selection human females will "instinctively" look for someone who is able to invest highly in children and her. This is due to the extremely long and needy childhood of human beings relative to other species.

This sort of thing is pretty well known and documented... I mean it is a feature of almost all Jane Austen's novels.

I'm not sure this will matter much. It all comes down to survival. These forums and all the conjecture they attract are only here because the basics are covered. Shining a light on female sexual hypergamy and social ramifications are only given meaning because there's a low barrier to entry for survival being guaranteed. If famine, disease, or any other immediate threat to survival were to occur, all this analysis and conjecture would lose its grip in like 30 seconds.

The only real cures for this will be economic.

When a majority of men push back and force changes to family court economic policies for dissolution of relationships. When courts recognize the difference between the wage gap and earnings gap and fully end alimony and set child maintenance amounts to actual childcare costs not lifestyle expectations.

When a majority of economically successful women and men push back against the welfare state and remove automatic welfare payouts to women raising bastard children.

In a far off dystopian future I see something similar to ferengi marriage contracts happening. Where a young women needs to bring sex to balance the equation and old women better have a bankroll saved up to survive or be glad for who takes them.

This isn't going to happen because "hypergamy" is existing sociological jargon which TRP redefined for their own purposes. Plus TRP itself can't even really agree what they mean by "female hypergamy", so it's really just a 4 syllable pseudoscientific word for "anything women do I don't like".

On the other hand, there's at least one female dating/sex person out there soft-selling duel mating strategy, so I think we'll see more of that pushed into the mainstream. A lot of blue pill ideas about dating assume people start to settle down in their early 20, but now that is more like early 30s for most people, everyone's strategy is going to have to change.
