You’re being hyperbolic. No you can’t retroactively revoke consent, and almost no feminists actually thinks all sex is rape; that’s like saying all Christians are like the Westboro Baptist Church.

In general, to have good consent 1: ask before upping intensity (whoever takes the lead asks)... if you’ve been with a partner for a long time and have had sex multiple times, you should know their body language and don’t have to ask for sex acts you’ve done a lot, but need to ask for something new. 2: watch your partners body language to make sure they’re still enjoying themselves (ie: if they freeze up, stop and ask what’s wrong 3: If someone asks to stop or slow down, stop or slow down 4: don’t have sex with someone who is asleep, drunk (not just tipsy) or otherwise incapacitated

You're being super hyperbolic here. This isn't arcane wizardry or rocket science. I've ""withdrawn consent"" in the middle of sex that I was initially very enthusiastically into. He unintentionally did something in the middle of it that killed my libido and my enthusiasm in an instant, and I was done. I didn't even have to say anything, I just kinda pushed away and he immediately stopped before I could ask, because it was pretty damn obvious that I wanted to stop. Just pay attention to something other than yourself and you'll be fine.

And, I mean... do you actually think that consent should not be withdraw-able? That's ridiculous. There's not a single co-op recreational activity, from tennis to charades to sex, where it's appropriate or indeed legal to force your counterpart to keep participating after they've decided they want to stop.

Fun story. A year back, a story broke out of a medical student who had sex with a girl he met off tinder. During the sex, the student grabbed her breast. The woman claimed that the man repeatedly squeezed her breast during sex despite her telling him to stop it.

In a written judgement reported by the Jersey Evening Post, magistrate Bridget Shaw said: "I am sure that Miss X withdrew consent for Queree to grab her breasts. Queree knew this but continued to do so forcefully, causing the complainant considerable pain. This was an assault.

I think what is confusing to many people is that consent is more of an internal state, and the things you described (verbal consent, non-verbal consent, enthusiastic consent) are just expressions of this internal state. Internally, we have a set of things we are in the mood for, and these things can change depending on many factors. When having sex, it is each person's job to figure out what the other person is in the mood for, and also whether they have stopped being in the mood for this thing, and act accordingly (i.e. stop when their partner has withdrawn consent). When a person has stopped being in the mood for a certain act, it doesn't mean that any previous instances of this act were rape, but it means that continuing it would be rape. For example, when two people are having penetrative sex, and one gets some kind of pain, and therefore doesn't want to continue, it is both people's job to communicate. This can mean that the person who has become uncomfortable says "hey, stop, this hurts", but it can also mean that the other person notices that their partner has become quiet or has a weird facial expression, and so it's their job to ask "is everything okay?". This doesn't make the previous consensual parts of their encounter rape, and it should not be thrown together with feminist extremists who think that all sex is rape.

Consent to a degree is necessary, but not to the extent that people are beginning to say/act like it is.

A lot about sex, just like any other interaction, should be natural. If you don’t like something, say so or show that you don’t like it, or both. It’s not really attractive or sexy to announce everything before you do it either, but if women are okay with that, then don’t fault us for not being sexy or turning you on.

Consent is a made up nothing term. Women don't consent or not consent but they do do something. Like perhaps what they do is acknowledge ex posto-facto if they are happy/satiated/satisfied with the encounter and then because the only words we provide are "consent" they place their real lived experiences inside the only words we provide.
