Generally MEN will think being a man whore is a good thing and will encourage other men to be that way, women generally will think it’s bad thing (even though men don’t seem to know this).

Obviously there is individual preference. Some people don’t care at all. People who are not promiscuous themselves tend to want a less promiscuous partner.

It’s more like there’s no shame for them from men. Women don’t necessarily shame them,more like smart women would be weary that they would be players and not make good partners. Women who don’t know better might try to change them into partners. But no stigma exists

Women don’t want to be with men who’ve been with too many partners. Men who seek these women won’t tell them about their extensive sexual history. You as a man may know because you’re their friend, but they definitely aren’t bragging like this in front of the women they pursue.

Also, men who pursue a lot of women typically have good social skills and know exactly what to say, due to experience and that’s why they are successful and seen as desirable. Not because women know they’re man whores. There’s a difference.

The only women i’ve seen who “slut shame” are women with internalized misogyny who seek validation from men, or religious women. Most of the time it’s men saying “we don’t want women with a lot of sexual partners” which is way more common. This idea that women do it more isn’t really that factual. I’d be 100% more comfortable telling women about my sexual past than men, even if i have a low n count. Men are very quick to judge and categorize a woman for the smallest thing… this sub is a proof of it.

I think if we go according to societal standards and gender norms, then yes men are whore makers. Because women’s sexuality has always been heavily criticized, contained and shamed throughout history and defined them at the same time. It definitely just stems from sexism more than anything. Both men and women can be whores and highly promiscuous and research shows that it can both affect us in very similar ways. One group is just more scrutinized than the other because historically speaking, their value and humanity was boiled down to their sexuality. Men were inventors, scientists, conquerers, women were… giving birth & taking care of children. That’s really all it boils down to.

From what I have seen in the dating pool, some man whores are seen as fun fuck buddies as many also have decent fun social circles and good social skills and charisma that helps get them friends and girls. But they are usually not seen as trustworthy long term partners. I have met man whores in my own social circles and not once have I ever heard a girl say she wanted to have his children. Party with him? Yes. Fuck him, yes. Actually share a life and children with him? Never once heard it.

Well women are not living in males bodies and generally are under different rules. So they have no idea what it takes to have the traits they desire. For example confidence only comes from repeated actions. That means the confidence ones are generally the man sluts. You may say you don't like man whores but they inadvertently choose them.

There’s no way that the male average N count is lesser than or greater than the female N count in heterosexual pairings and equal numbers of men and women. The issue is the distribution and the standard deviation of the N count.

If anecdotal evidence is believed chad is the super whore and if there are all these sexless men then the n count of women pales in comparison to the top men.

For example let’s say there’s 10 guys and 10 girls.

Chad is sleeping with 7 of the women and brad is sleeping with 5. Another three are sleeping with 1 each.

On the flip side we have One girl sleeping with chad brad and one guy, a few more sleeping with brad and chad, and a few more sleeping with chad or brad.

In this scenario the average n count is 1.5. But there’s a bunch of guys with n = 0 while most women are about the average. We have the top buys having them crazy n counts in this scenario.

Obviously this is a small theoretical example but I feel like it’s similar to the model out there.

Men can be man whores, but they have to have a ridiculously high N that the majority of women would actually be turned off hearing what it is. Most women don't care if a man has a very high N, though, so actual man whores are rare. It's men that judge women's N count much more than women judge men's N count. All most women care about, at least in the west, is that the man who she is interested in has treated his past sexual partners well.

Women make other judgments about men's sexual history, though. For instance, if a woman finds out that a man has seen prostitutes regularly, it will usually turn her off.

Someone using the word man whore automatically defeats your argument. It’s not used in a nice way. If a woman calls a guy a man whore, she’s not having sex with him and certainly not dating him.

Also, for me at least, the word man whore isn’t even totally about how many women he’s been with. That phrase carries association of objectifying women, likely lying to them, playing them, generally disrespecting them, etc.

There are certainly man whores and women certainly care. The word in itself is evidence of thay

It's just a glib saying that pokes fun with the "flip the script" tropes of post modern feminism.

"Man whore" just means a man who sleeps around a lot but he can't really be a whore unless he's gay because male sex has no monetary value. Women can get it for free any time they desire.

As such, men cannot monetize their sexuality in the way women can (a female privilege, to be sure) so they cannot be man-whores.

It's just a way for whores to feel better about themselves because "men do it too".

A man who is sexually successful shouldn't be called a whore because his "n-count" is the result of him attaining a high enough value to be deemed fuckable by many women.

Women do not need to be high value to be whores they just have to post an ad in the paper.

It's 99.9% politics and social influence. At my college people who managed to sleep around while maintaining enough clout and leaving relatively few messes in their wake were not labeled like this. They were "free spirits" or "comfortable with their sexuality."

I think we probably all have different definitions of “man whore” and the point at which a man’s sexual history goes from: easygoing about sex and made the women he’s been around feel the same way - to a skeezy sex-addict type you really don’t want to get close to…

Most women definitely don’t want to have babies with guys that seem to centre their lives on having sex with as many different women as possible (especially if it seems a lot of it was from drinking/drugs and was likely unsafe). But most women will give men more leeway about their sexual history if they really like him - it’s not likely to be a dealbreaker if you like everything else about him and he’s been open and accountable over his past but he’s slept with a higher number of women than some arbitrary number in your head. The way many men are truly unable to get past a certain number for a woman, just shows that it has little to do with the actual woman, and is more in his own head.

Whores and sluts are two different types of women; and the difference isn't in n-count, but in mindset. Sluts are indiscriminate, while whores are preemptively transactional. The reasoning behind why sluts are non-transactional are all over the place, none which can be solely pinned on men - from nymphomania to boredom to 'raw desire' whatever you want to call it, it'll vary from woman to woman and men in general have less discernment for the reasons because the slut is indiscriminate relative to most women, but that's not super important.

Whores are simply businesswomen made by the market and maintained by market; the buyers just happen to be mostly men. Whores may be "products" of this, but I don't see the relevance to standard monogamous dating or "hook-up culture", because while a lot of women may have a transactional view of relationships, they do not have the institutionalized identity of the whore (or sex worker).

There are also sexually liberated women that are not in the business of marketing sex nor indiscriminate which is why they drive sexual selectiveness so high, because they have neither of these mindsets, but a mindset of freedom and I think this is the women most men come into contact with way more than sluts and whores on a more general level, and they aren't just "made" by men, but made by a combination of things and maintained by the men that give them positive rewards.

I see this post about "Man whores" and I don't think anything really exists in an interesting way to discuss around it. "Man whore' just seems laughably oxymoronic because the very informal definition of a man-whore is an indiscriminate sexually loose man having his way with tons of women. He is not interested in transactions, just getting his rocks off. The only way I can see some kind of man-whore being fun to talk about is some kind of off the books male Gigalo, and a lot are involved with gay male clients and older women.

The only reason male promiscuity and female promiscuity is viewed differently is good old fashioned sexism. That’s a view that’s alive and well in some circles ig, I’ve never seen it in mine and I’m 32 and live in a major city. People just literally don’t even think about it, unless someone regardless of gender has slept with so many people it becomes a red flag for their mental health. And this is coming from a woman with a very low count, so I have no doubt that when people were drunk and gossipy they would have felt comfortable sharing that opinion w me if they held it. And I’m not even gen z. Some of the stuff on this sub is straight out of a history book.

I have a triple digit n-count now. I don’t think many women see it as a positive and some a slightly negative especially the lower n-count girls that I consider good for a LTR. At minimum they see it as a yellow flag or something to be weary about.

Women can tell when you’re good with women and n-count doesn’t really tie into that. When you walk into a room and move and talk with confidence and have great style, that’s what’s attractive. Not fucking lots of girls.
