I've been lurking here for about 2 months and this is going to force me to speak up on this topic. I also found this subreddit through /r/AskReddit from a comment saying that it's nothing but mysogenic comments and how to pick up girls. The amount negative press alone made me question how bad it really was, so I decided to read the posts here.

Coming in with an open mind, what I found was that the hatred people spew about this place stems from their own bitterness, insecurity and failure to be what you guys strive for. There is so much supporting evidence for Red Pill Theory, so much that you would have to mentally delude yourself not to accept it. This subreddit is by far the most misunderstood subreddit I have seen in the eyes of the reddit populace. The metaphor of the red pill is perfect.

Everything a person reads, on paper or online, cannot be taken literally. However, the ones bashing this subreddit are doing that and misinterpreting and taking things out of context. Yes, some comments here are very negative when taken out of context, but that can be said about any comment on any topic. Add the circle jerk tendencies of reddit and the outcome is TRP being #2 worst subreddit.

I remember reading that TRP is different for each person, and wholeheartedly agree. I'm not the most alpha person out there, but I'm not a pussy either. What I take from here more than anything else is that followers of TRP are focused on self-improvement, don't devalue themselves, and project that sense of improvement and positivity to those around them. I'm still learning the ideology of TRP, but I feel that the most important aspect is to continually improve one's frame, and everything else will come to you... sometimes literally.

I ended up here when someone told me it was amazing that I took tragedy as well as I did, and didn't turn out like those Red Pill guys. Curiosity handled the rest. This is an important and unique place, and everyone is individually responsible for what they absorb, apply, and teach others.

It's God dammed fantastic. I appreciate the hell out of what is being done here on the whole.

I think many people look to this sub and see the macho/alpha/guido/pickup artist type, but I really don't think that's what it is. I think there are two types of people on the sub: neckbeards disillusioned with women and the friendzone wishing they could take what they want, and the people that practically write fanfiction of redpill topics that feed the rest of them.

IMO, this sub by and large reflects the anger and bitterness stage of coming to grips with the red pill, and as such is obviously going to have an undesirable image, especially with a fairly constant influx of new users who are unexperienced, so to speak, or un-zen about it.

The blogs in the "Good links" section, among others, represent a much more level headed, mature, experienced, adult perspective versus the more rash, angry, "adolescent" tendencies, if you will, that populate the sub. (Except Return of Kings, they're pretty clickbaity and seemingly much less concerned with the quality of their content)

My indoctrination was a bit reversed. Came from heartiste and roosh, r/theredpill is how I started taking reddit serious in the first place. I now can't believe there is so much hate for what's taught here. There is no bashing of other subs here at all but people just want to make the men here seem like assholes. It's almost comparable to the guy that's the player in a social circle. Women might talk about him and shame him but eventually end up all sleeping with him, in some cases after they know he's been with their friends prior. They shame the redpill in circle jerk fashion but are subconsciously looking for these qualities in real life, sometimes upset that the person they're with doesn't have them.

One of the reasons I love this sub is that it's actually one of the most civil out there. I disagree with a good 40% of the stuff I read on here (the constant 'alpha'/'beta' stuff never resonates to me) but I know that if I put forward a well-reasoned, polite counterargument, I'll get a well-reasoned, polite counterargument in return. Y'know, a time-honoured method of how intelligent men debate each other.
