Korean guys in Korea use this trick all the time. I've been on dates with multiple guys where on the second or third date they present me with gifts (I've gotten 24K gold necklaces, diamond rings, offers to pay my bills, and Prada shoes (lol, so that's why you randomly asked my shoe size on the first date). It's almost always followed by inquiries of where I live, or if they can "stay the night" because "I live far and it's a burden to travel, and I paid for dinner and two dates". They will also blame you for everything they did. This is strongly related to what happened to me and sounds a bit like it. The lady is made to seem like a fool. I was drugged multiple times and then he made it seem like it was my fault that I was in his company when I wasn't even able to move. I didn't even know this guy, but he was following me.
