So it seems on here and some subreddits chicks be talking about dudes who are “emotionally unavailable” or “won’t commit” but the reality is that that every guy is like that to some girls and aren’t to others. For example one summer I had a roommate let’s make him Josh. He’s the average fuckboi stereotype frat dude. We’re both interning one summer at a company and one of the female interns like him(Let’s call her Cheryl). We both pickup on this and I ask him later if he’s into her. He’s like no but she’s cute. I knowing this would be stupid just toss a warning at her later that week lowkey telling her he’s a fuckboi watch out. She ignores me and pursues him and low and behold she sleeps with him. He per usual absolutely doesn’t take it serious and barely texts he back.

Later on in the year after the internship he meets another girl who from the beginning couldn’t stop telling me about. The dude goes from fuckboi to simp real quick. Buying her flowers texting her good morning good night. So much so I’m telling him that’s going to make her not like you and to stop showing your cards so early (an advice he ironically told me one time). He turns it down. They start dating. He’s still acting like that all the way into the next summer. We go back to the internship and Cheryl also returned. Except this time she’s seeing him constantly around his new girl. Constantly talking about her. That’s when she really gets depressed.

She got hookup-zoned. Enough for a hookup and nothing more. But that’s the crux.

Just like how some woman will friendzoned dudes and still be capable of dating if they meet the right guy there are guys who will hookup zone girls until they meet “the one girl who’s different”.

Guys have more or less excepted the friendzoned existence but I don’t know if woman have excepted the existence of the hookup zone. It’s not that he won’t settle as a whole. He just won’t settle for you.

TLDR: hookup zone exists. Woman right off dudes as being emotionally unavailable but they’re not emotionally unavailable. They just aren’t settling for you.
