Alright guys, as a lonely man that's been struggling with a lot of different things (just look at my post history) I've been wanting to talk about this issue for sometime but I wasn't sure where to post without instantly being shit on (look at my last post) or where an actual discussion could take place with people that genuinely give a shit. Today F.D Signifier dropped a banger of a video......but I still think he dropped the ball at the end and otherwise weakened a powerful video.

I guess well start with all the things I loved about the video. He correctly identified that "looks-maxing" and self-improvement aren't guaranteed to give you success like so many Redpill asshats on the internet (and pretty much everybody on any dating/social skills sub) scream about. He also correctly identified a point that I think everyone misses in this discussion......nobody knows what they're doing in the first place when it comes to dating.

I've (somehow) had 3x relationships and I can tell you I didn't do anything spectacular to get into them other than being myself and happening across someone that happened to be into me at the moment. Truth be told there's no one magic thing anyone can say that will magically lift millions of lonely guys out of solitude. One guys "just go to the gym" could be another guys "just change your wardrobe." The internet can't know that from a forum or a comment section somewhere, especially when you consider all the nuances of socializing and the fact that there's like 8 billion people on earth.

With all that out of the way, this is the issue I keep running into with people who claim they want to help: they can't go five minutes without accusing you of only wanting sex, and they keep acting like if you're lonely it's your fault because you're consciously or unconsciously a bad person.

Let's start with the only wanting sex thing. Towards the end of the video he goes on to talk about how men treat women like trophies to be earned and that's why they aren't having success and that they should instead focus on finding a hobby and improving their inner selves.

My problem with the hobby part is that it doesn't take into account men that genuinely want friendships with all sexes. Plenty of guys (myself included) want platonic relationships just as much as romantic ones but are unable to get and keep them. In my personal life I took reddits/the internets advice to heart and focused on my friendships and hobbies. Slowly over time I've watched as my friends got into relationships or starting pursuing different careers and over time distanced themselves from me. To be blunt, hobbies are just not a replacement for face to face socializing,
as not all hobbies are social and not everyone at a meetup or hobby is looking to make friends.

Generally speaking, men are seen as predators or criminals in waiting, and it's hard to make friends with new people, especially when you take into consideration the fact that we live in late stage capitalism. We are socially conditioned to turn everything into a competition and in my career (film) I've ran into more haters than potential friends, and more people afraid that I'm going to rob or assualt them rather than friendly people. This leads me to my final point:

Being lonely keeps being seen as some sort of character flaw. Everytime I (or any other man opens up about being lonely on reddit (or really anywhere) we're told it's our faults.

- I opened up about a female friend basically going radio silent when she got a boyfriend and was immediately told that I'm the problem for expecting a friend to care enough about me to at least keep in touch.

- I opened up about how my friend group abandoned me for focusing more on school, instead I'm told it's my fault for "abandoning" my friends and not giving them attention when everytime a man says he's lonely or he wants to improve himself, he's told to focus on his career or work out. (I also want to mention that the friend group situation is way more complex than this paragraph)

- I opened about the bullying and ostracizing I face in my department at school. I'm told that it's my fault because I did something to piss everyone off and I must be an asshole.

All of this assertions that I see thrown not just at myself, but at lonely men all across the internet keeps trying to pin the problem squarely on men as everything is our fault. It reeks of the just-world fallacy or the idea that you must be a bad person if bad things happen to you.

I've come across countless posts from men who are kind, compassionate, and genuinely good people that struggle with dating AND friends. Meanwhile I see guys in person that are truly deplorable with large friend groups and relationships. (Seriously go look at my post history in fox brain about my former conservative coworker)

How is it that some of the most racist, sexist, misogynistic people I've ever seen have large friend groups, girlfriends, wives, children, and community? Meanwhile some of the most intelligent and kind people I've ever met are perpetually single or struggle to make friends.

Why is being lonely always seen as being a perosnal moral failure on the man's part? When a woman says she's lonely people tell her how sweet she is, how smart she is, and how one day she'll have friends and a relationship (if she's single).

If a man is lonely he's told that he's probably a sexist, racist, predator jackass that needs 1 billion hours of therapy, ten thousand different hobbies and that he doesn't deserve to socialize because he's actually a bad person and he should just be alone because he's a pervert.

Is it that hard to admit that maybe being lonely doesn't mean your automatically a bad person?

The video would have been 5/5 instead of 4/5 if he would have just stopped at "just be your best self and don't give up."
