You forgot giving men financial abortions rights.
[–]NohoTwoPointOh 244 points245 points246 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Or outright abandonment rights as American women have.

Not one bit. A man cannot "abandon" under penalty of jail.
[–]TheMasterSword60 38 points39 points40 points 6 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link
I think child support should be opt-in. It's the only way to stop the abuse.

Then the state would end up paying instead.
[–]TheMasterSword60 29 points30 points31 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yup. They do already to a large extent. It's better if it's paid for via our taxes instead of destroying a man's life.
[–]Demonspawn 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
Then the voters get to decide if they want to continue all the benefits to single mothers.
[–]pastel-forest 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
Well if not supporting the mothers, do you think children should at least deserve healthcare, education and housing etc?
[–]Demonspawn 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
Why not? Let's give them all of those things if the mother can't supply them. And we'll do so by placing the kids in foster/adoption care and the mother in jail for failing to support her children.
And before you turn your nose at how "evil" that is, the above is basically what we do to non-custodial fathers today.
[–]pastel-forest 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
If the woman is looking after the child it makes sense that she would not have time to work to provide for the child. In cases where the parent is out of work, they do not go to jail. Sentences are only handed out for people that willfully ignore court orders, despite having the resources to pay for child support.

Well she should have though of that before she had sex, no? Damnit, there I go treating women as equally as we treat men today.

Bullshit. Lurk more and learn reality does not meet your "just world fallacy".

Is there an example of someone going to jail because they can't pay? Curious to know more.
[–]Demonspawn 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's a fair enough question. Here's an example.
As I described in the Times-Dispatch, parents also sometimes get jailed for not paying child support that they are simply unable to pay. In theory, the inability to pay is a defense to being jailed, but noncustodial parents facing jail typically do not have a lawyer or understand the rules of evidence. Courts often fail to accord them even the minimal due-process safeguards mandated by the Supreme Court’s decision in Turner v. Rogers. Some court rulings have cited a father’s failure to pay for an appeal bond as a basis for not hearing his appeal of his incarceration, even though a parent who is too broke to pay child support will also be too broke to afford the cost of an appeal bond. That can put low-income parents in a Catch-22 situation. [Emphasis mine] When parents are jailed due to their inability to pay excessive child support obligations, their relatives may have to empty their pockets to pay off the arrears, to get their family member out of jail. It can look a lot like holding someone for ransom. A South Carolina judge called this the “magic fountain”—jail a person who couldn’t pay his child support, and, as if by magic, the money may appear, courtesy of desperate relatives. In 2002, Murray Steinberg, a member of Virginia’s child-support guideline review panel, told me that a majority of parents jailed in Virginia over child-support were black, even though blacks were only a minority of those ordered to pay child support. This may reflect the fact that black people tend to have fewer prosperous relatives to help pay their arrearages to get them out of jail, and their families tend to have less inherited wealth. Steinberg also described how excessive child-support obligations were driving African-American men into the black market.

Dave folly from kids in the hall. After his sitcom finished he couldn’t afford to pay the 30000$ a month in support that was judged when made big $. He tried to get it lowered because he didn’t make 30,000 a month. Court said your ability to pay does not negate you onus to pay, he now lives in exile since if he returns home they will arrest and jail him.
[–]Sarm11111 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Here is the thing. Women have every all the rights when determining if they want a baby. They have multiple options including, abortion, adoption, keep it, or abandon it at a hospital or fire hall (old law that was used to save a baby as a last resort, with no accountability. Men have, don’t have sex. That’s the only right we have for having a baby or not. If a man does not want to be a father and expressed it before a pregnancy why can they be forced to be a parent. Can we force women to have babies, no of course not, but it’s ok for men.In today’s strong independent women who believe in equality and accountability then the choice of parenthood should go both ways. You can kill it without ever contacting the father, you can give away a child without giving the father an option to raise their own child. On top of that they can put anyones name on the birth certificate and hold force that man to pay child support. But up to 30% of fathers are raising kids that are not theirs. And even if they find out the child is not his he must still pay support. There is an example where a man had a DNA test proving the child wasn’t his but still pay. Hey then lost his house in the divorce and the real father moved in with the mother and his kid. Unbelievably the poor simp had to still pay for the house and the kid while the biological father was raising his own kid on the others dime.
If you can’t afford to raise a baby on your own that you kept despite the mans clear wishes to not be a parent then it’s a child abuse case for knowingly having a baby you can’t raise? If I buy a car I can’t afford they will take it away,
Dave Folly from kids in the hall had been divorced while he was making good coin on news radio. 30000 a month child support. Well his show ended and his income dropped considerably and didn’t make 30000 a month let alone be able to pay it. Judge said, your ability to pay does not affect your responsibility to pay. He has been in exile for years and can’t go to back to Canada or hey will be arrested and jailed.
Somehow women call the status quo as equality. For many men it equates to indentured servitude or in another word, made slave.
Oh, and enforcing court orders is notoriously one sided. I’ve seen tons of women violate court orders and are never enforced.
To quote the grate Dave Chappelle, my money my choice.

I would say no. The childbirth is the woman's choice because it is her body. Supporting the child financially is the choice of each parent.

Schrodinger's fetus, both human and inhuman depending on whether you want to imprison the murderer or murder it yourself.

Very debatable. Many pro-choices who still prioritize bodily choice concede that those hours away from birth are likely children, or at least persons. Its just that its still okay to kill them.
I'm surprised more pro-choicers are not more frustrated that most third-trimester abortions are illegal.
[–]CeruIian1 points 6 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. Personally I support abortions well past the first trimester because I don’t believe that constitutes a complete and independent human being. But abortions literally right before birth is absurd to me unless there is a medical exception. At that point the baby could be removed by c section and survive.
[–]TheWheatOne 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
They downvoted because most "pro-choicers" don't like the thought that they are actually have to prioritize bodily choice over life with personhood. Its less about giving choice of bodily privacy and rights and more about anti-personhood to those entities they feel unworthy of it.
If some hypothetical situation happened where a full innocent human child who could think and feel (Lets say they are 6 years old), was forced by a risky act to be inside another person (who made the risk) for many months, I doubt pro-choicers would live up to their name and allow the child to be killed by the bodily rights and choices of the person holding the child inside them.
In normal situations, given the entity inside is virtually fully formed hours away from birth, with little difference from a baby with a birth certificate outside, suddenly their stance of being pro-choice is eroded should the pregnant want to kill the unborn, yet they still want the label. If someone is for disallowing choice at any point of the pregnancy, then they are at least to some degree, pro-life.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No, not debatable at all. Words have specific meanings. You don't abort a child, that is literally murder.

33 year old grandfather here. Daughter is suicidally depressed, had a baby at 14. Mother poisoned our relationship all her life as she raised her across the country. I get to pay child support and have since 22. Daughter is miserable, grandson is neglected, but hey, it’s “her body, her choice”. And it was her that desperately urged me to not use condoms; we did anyway 4/5 times the night I lost my virginity and became a father the day after I turned 17. But sure.. go women.

Step in the wrong direction. We're always going to have unwanted pregnancies; people are collectively too stupid for us not to. But the "solution" of killing children in utero is among the least ethical.
Abortion is evil. End of the discussion. Any female that aborts a child is a murderer.

This is one thing that irks me a little bit on this sub: 'women want'. You're talking about SJW feminists, not women as a whole. In fact, I believe personally that Men's Rights as a whole would be far more accepted by women if you stopped painting all women the same color...
[–]TylerReddit7 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]MajesticRobot 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah but the solution isn't too do the same wrong thing, but lead by a example.
If you see something that another group does as wrong and then say I do it because they do it is not an excuse to do it but a sign it should be done otherwise.
[–]cld8 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Some feminists are pushing for women to be included in the draft because they know that this is one inequality that the general public can understand and it gives MRAs a credible argument. So by including women in the draft, they would be able to say "see, women don't get any legal privileges anymore". And of course they know that the likelihood of a draft is minuscule and if it happened, the military would probably put women in non-combat roles anyway.
[–]crystalmerchant 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I don't follow... If I refuse the draft I am denied the ability to vote?
[–]Demonspawn 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Failure to sign up for selective service is a felony. In most states, a felony removes suffrage.
[–]cld8 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
In theory, failure to register for the draft is a felony, and being convicted of a felony can result in denial of the right to vote. It's rare for anyone to actually be prosecuted for this, but it's possible. Failure to register for the draft also removes other benefits like federal financial aid for college.
[–]XanderBhaneboar 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I have a friend who was fucked over by this. He was even told by a doctor that he shouldn't sign up for it since he took ADHD medication and the doctor said they wouldn't take him, so he listened to his doctor and never signed up. I tried to help him sign up for community college and he can't get FAFSA. We tried filling out the form that says he's exempt from the draft, they didn't accept his form. It's bullshit. No one should have to sign up for the draft.
[–]corranhorn57 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don’t think you’ll be thrown in prison, but it is a legal requirement and not signing up is against the law for men. Typical punishment is denying the right to vote as well as no federal loans for college.
[–]Alistair_TheAlvarian 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes, and any other federal aid.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]GreenishYellowPurple 36 points37 points38 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Failure to register can lead to up to 5 years in jail and/or a $250,000 fine. Being registered is also a requirement for financial aid, federal grants and loans, federal employment, and eligibility for citizenship if you're an immigrant. Failing to register before turning 26 may make the person permanently ineligible for the above.
Also, some states require registration in order to get a drivers license, state employment, or educational benefits from the state

There hasn't been a 'draft' in over 40 years. The US army currently has enough numbers and reserve soldiers so that if even war were declared, they wouldn't force anyone, man or woman, to go to war if they are not already a member of the army/military.
Nobody in the last 40 years has been made to sign up to the draft to be eligible to vote.
As much as a I support men's rights, It's a common argument but one that really is redundant/obsulete and should stop being used.
[–]cld8 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Just because there hasn't been a draft in 40 years doesn't mean there couldn't be another one. There have only been a few drafts in the last century, and they were spaced out several decades apart. It's unlikely but not impossible.
[–]SharedRegime 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
ugh.... mate.... https://www.usa.gov/selective-service
If you are required to register and you don’t, you will not be eligible for federal student aid, federal job training, or a federal job. You may be prosecuted and face a fine of up to $250,000 and/or jail time of up to five years. If you’re an immigrant to the U.S., you will not be eligible for citizenship.
Almost all men age 18-25 who are U.S. citizens or are immigrants living in the U.S. are required to be registered with Selective Service. U.S. law calls for citizens to register within 30 days of turning 18 and immigrants to register within 30 days of arriving in the U.S.
Proving you wrong took 5 seconds.
That being said, we wont need a draft due to the other things you said but yeah men are absolutely required to sign up when they turn 18 if they dont fall under any of the disability requirements for exception.
It is not redundant or irrelevant because women still are not required to sign up but men are. Thats not equal is it not? Or are you saying that women are not equal to men?

You see this HEAVILY ingrained in Black Americans. They are taught that no matter what bad thing happens in their life its because theyre black and no other reason. You got that D on your report card cause your teachers a racist not because you didnt do your homework and you got all Ds on your tests. Nah, not that at all. Its cause of that uncle tom/racist teacher.
Its such a pity because they go through life thinking theyre always gonna be held back by their skin color and having that type of self hate i dont know how anyone could live with it. Women go through the same thing. Theyre taught from birth "Youll always have it harder cause youre a woman." Well when you constantly tell someone theyll never succeed, how can you be upset when they dont? How can you be upset when they give up and turn to crime and gangs or selling their titty pics to gross ass simps online?
You cant be surprised when your child fails when you constantly tell your child theyre going to because of something as arbitrary as a physical feature. Cause when they get to learning about MLK, theyll be a little confused as to his message.

Not sure how any of this comment correlated with anything that was said. The chain was talking about how men are now becoming unequal, in the strive for equality (which it should actually be equity, not equality but a lot of people don’t know the difference).
You seemed to ignore all that and go to: Women still have all these problems, and men just don’t like to face the rejection of women not condoning to such problems. There are most definitely important points for third wave feminism, that I support. Such as the great imbalance between men and women in third world countries.
Nonetheless, in the 1st world the scale of such problems seems to be not as great. There is domestic abuse and sexual harassment, but that is not fixed on one gender. These two problems can also be inflicted upon men. One of the biggest societal ideologies that men are facing is: being ignored. The focus on women’s problems in today’s society is huge, men also face the same problems; but we get marginalised. Making a huge break in the general well being of men. Tell me how that’s equity, equality, fair or just?

When "they" are literally taught to think of nothing else, "they" refers to feminists once again. Not all women are feminists, and not all feminists are women.
Oh yeah: you were never "forced to act like Stepford wives". That is another lie feminism sold you on.
Also, most policy makers being men is meaningless if they have to pander to feminists to get elected. Men have an outgroup bias favoring women, and women have an ingroup bias favoring women. Championing women's issues gets you votes.
Finally, lose the emojis. What are you, twelve?

Yeah man, totally! That whole time hundreds of years when they couldn’t vote was in their head man! Or when they couldn’t run in the Boston Marathon until 1972. That’s all in their minds bro! They’ve never been oppressed man! How dare they think that!! Or the fact that only 23% of the house and senate seats are occupied by women! That’s just bc they have those tiny women brains dog, totally!

That whole time hundreds of years when they couldn’t vote was in their head man!
Men who didn't own property and refused to consent to fighting for their kingdom/country in the army were denied the oppertunity to vote, too.
Or when they couldn’t run in the Boston Marathon until 1972.
Not all men were built to break records in Marathons either, what's your point?
Or the fact that only 23% of the house and senate seats are occupied by women!
Who do you think a politician serves during their term? Their constituents. which is comprised of men AND women. Women can vote now, right? So they do, based on who reflects their values and policy opinions.
Those powerful men do not automatically serve the common man first and foremost. Look at all the programs, laws and support for women in various circumstances. Do you see any for men's concerns? Is there now an Office for Men's Issues as there is for Women's Issues? No?
There's your answer.
That’s all in their minds bro! They’ve never been oppressed man! That’s just bc they have those tiny women brains dog, totally!
Woah man, you like totally blow me away with your straw-man argument skills, bro! Don't quit your day job, dog!

“Men who didn't own property and refused to consent to fighting for their kingdom/country in the army were denied the oppertunity to vote, too.”
I’m not sure when that was, but even if it was during the same time period, the point is they were born with the human right to vote, regardless of later choices or circumstances. They had the choice bc they were born with a penis.
“Not all men were built to break records in Marathons either, what's your point?”
Again, the point is they had the choice! The could decide to run even if they weren’t built to break records. Your argument makes me think you have arguments on why women were “built” to wash dishes.
“Who do you think a politician serves during their term? Their constituents. which is comprised of men AND women. Women can vote now, right? So they do, based on who reflects their values and policy opinions.”
So, following your logic, the reason why there isn’t a large minority population in government or c-suites of businesses is because American American and other minority population love white people? Not because of slavery, indentured servitude, Jim Crowe, racism, etc etc.
The reason why a lot of women haven’t been elected or put into positions of power is because there aren’t a lot of women in positions of power. It’s a reciprocal process. I 100% guarantee you don’t believe in this, but it’s all based on long term systematic oppression; years and years of rules and regulations preventing people from doing the same things as others bc of their skin color or the genitalia they were born with.
... right back at yah diggity dog!! Solid retorts there.
[–]orcscorper 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
What "hundreds of years", you dolt? Name me two complete centuries where men could vote in any country you choose, while women could not.
Nobody got to vote for their leaders anywhere for 99% of human history, but ignorant feminists like yourself imagine men were voting for centuries before women were finally given suffrage. Read a fucking book.
[–]lucasjackson87 -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Well since the idea of democracy is still relatively new, and newer democratic countries have realized relatively quickly the importance of allowing women to vote, I have to admit it was hard to find countries with that 100 year gap but I was able to snag a few recognizable ones.
English Parliament began in 1215, didn’t let women into Parliament until 1919.
US first general election was in 1788, women weren’t allowed to vote until 1919.
Frances first democratic election was in 1791, women didn’t have the right to vote in France until 1944.
And, before you make a big ol’ huff and a puff saying things like “those people were noble landowners!” or “those were rich congressmen!” or “penises beats vagina!” let me tell you—I don’t give a fuck. They were all men and women didn’t have the slightest chance to participate because it was AGAINST THE LAW. A law that men enacted and enforced.
Never mind the fact that they either legally could not own land (not until 1839 in the US) or, because of hundreds of years of a traditional “role” culture that designated women as “child bearers” and “homestayers”—not to mention in the 18th and 19th century men often legally absorbed any inheritance left to their wife; oh wait, shit, I just did mention it—even if women could vote then, they would be up against a way harder battle than any male.
And on a side note, you pudgy little dolt you, I like how you latched on to this argument because the other two you made were completely horse shit. I don’t know what books you’ve been reading but I think your time would be better spent using them as extra TP during this pandemic.
✌️
[–]orcscorper 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I like how you latched on to this argument because the other two you made were completely horse shit.
What other two arguments were horse shit? I didn't make any. I replied to one of your arguments because the other two were horse shit. Not being able to compete in a single foot race is not oppression, and 23% of U.S. House and Senate seats are occupied by women because they don't run for office as much as men.
It's been shown that when when women run, women win. It's not oppression to not get a job you didn't apply for, and I don't give a fuck what perceived inequality might make women who want the job feel like they can't compete. The weak-willed should stay out of political races, because it doesn't get any easier once you're in.
[–]lucasjackson87 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Not being able to compete in a mass race of people because you are a female is oppression. I don’t think you know the definition of oppression. Add a dictionary to that pile of books you don’t read.
Women don’t run as much because they are still battling the residual affects of years and years of traditional control and systemic oppression. There will be more women in politics, just as in some day women will make the same amount of money as men. I’m sure you’ll love that.
It just takes time to reverse hundreds of years of backwards behavior. If don’t see it or fail to reason with it it’s because you struggle to have empathy in other people, which is your problem.
“I don't give a fuck what perceived inequality might make women who want the job feel like they can't compete. The weak-willed should stay out of political races, because it doesn't get any easier once you're in.”
This just reinforces the fact you lack the ability to see the world from someone else’s point of view, or simply be open to the idea of asking why something is the way it currently is. You see it all one dimensionally. You think women aren’t in politics because they are too weak, or scared, or just don’t want to be in it.
Oppression is the inequitable use of authority, law, or physical force to prevent others from being free or equal.
There you go! Now you can that $10 and go buy yourself a dirty magazine.
[–]orcscorper 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yet, a single sporting event being open to one gender only is oppression in your view. Women could have organized a Boston Ladies' Marathon before they were allowed to run in the big one. No authority, law or physical force was being used to keep them from being free or equal. Women also aren't allowed to run in the Kentucky Derby; they need horses. Not oppression.
I read the dictionary as a child, but I got bored and skipped to the end. Zymurgy did it.
[–]lucasjackson87 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Not allowing someone to do something that they physical can do and excel at because they were born with different genitalia is oppression.
And women were prevented from running by all three: there were rules saying they couldn’t, both the Boston Athletic Association and the Amateur Athletic Association banned them from running in races with men, AND in the race Joe Semple attempted to physically drag the first women racer in the Boston Marathon off the track.
Also, women have raced in the Kentucky Derby: Mary Hirsch in ‘37, Shelley Riley got 2nd in ‘92 and Kathy Ritvo in 2011.
...or were you struggling to make some sort of argument saying women aren’t allowed to race with horses in the Kentucky derby bc it is raced with horses? Women can’t race in the Indy 500 either, make sure you put that in your holster for the next time you want to puke your bigotry to another redditor.
God you’re thick. This clearly is all about who gets the last words, so give me your worst and let’s be done with this fermented argument of shit.
[–]orcscorper 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You actually looked up female Kentucky Derby jockeys because I joked about women not being allowed to run in the Derby because they have to ride horses? Get a fucking life already, or at least a clue.
The autism is strong in this one.
Also, your ramblings about rules and associations barring women from competing against men in a single race (well, competing is a strong word when gnome of them ever finish in the top fifty) failed to address the fact that women could have created their own marathon at any time and prevented men from running in it. Not oppression.

Gender does not matter. People who put in work and creativity create things that matter.

I realy dont het why companies want female CEOs just for having female CEOs. If your female CEO is a CEO because she worked her way up, good for her and the company. If she's a CEO just because the unequality known as "equality", no ones winning.

Yeah, I had a female CEO in my previous job. She was fucking amazing. Like a hamster on coffee, she couldn't sit still for a second, talked twice as fast as anyone else (though always about relevant things), and she single-handedly took the company from teetering on bankruptcy to doubling the number of employees to 200 in two years.
I never once heard her talk about patriarchy or complain about being held down as a woman, though. She just did stuff.

[–][deleted] 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
[–]Demonspawn 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
That's the problem. Equality is impossible and seeking it is detrimental to men and society. So we have to start looking for other solutions.
Hrm, natural gender roles seems to have a track record of working for thousands of years.....

[–]Demonspawn 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I never said equality is detrimental, just it is not possible.
I believe it is detrimental. Under equality, men become "Persons" and women become "Persons (plus reproduction)". Additionally, the environment competition between men and women, rather than one of complementary roles, destroys the foundations of society which make it work in the first place.
That's a funny way of spelling special treatment, feminists.

If we are to allow abortions, men should also have the chance to give up on his fatherhood and be freed from child support. He should be able to file this within 1 year from the time he was notified of the child or its conception.
Men should also not be forced to pay child support when he learns the children is not his. The current law mandates the men to do this if he has spent enough time with the children "for the sake of the kids". No. It should be the lying bitch's responsibility and men should be able to abandon them.
I always say maybe when I see as many female construction workers, etc, doing as good of a job as men, then we can talk.
Today men even cook and clean better than women. Without being mothers and wives, their value is decreasing dramatically in my view.
Females in front line combat and a draft...although then the military would be hindered greatly.
“They won’t let females fight in combat blah blah” yeah because they’ve tested it out and women can’t hang with the men when it comes to things like carrying a wounded soldier into safety and hauling equipment among other non-physical strength faults.

Well yeah. Imagine if someone had a sandwich and you were hungry so you asked for an equal share. Then the person says, oh, you want the whole sandwich experience, huh? Then gives you feces.
Or imagine when people of color asked for rights and to be treated as citizens, and the country says, Oh, okay, well you can be citizens but you have to enlist as that’s what citizens do. That would be a vile and manipulative idea of equality.
Figured I could explain to my fellow men who seem to be too preoccupied with other people’s plates that someone asking for equal rights isn’t an awful thing, and feeling justified to give someone else shit rights is an inhuman thing to do.
This is nothing but playing victim and using it to try to justify talking down to women and trying to say, “I’m oppressed too, boohoo.” Instead, fix the fucking problems we have and let other people get the rights they want. It’s not hard to not be an asshole.

Intersectionality
Intersectionality is a theoretical framework for understanding how aspects of one's social and political identities (gender, race, class, sexuality, ability, etc.) might combine to create unique modes of discrimination. It aims to broaden the agenda of the first waves of feminism, which largely focused on the experiences of white, middle-class women. The broad agenda means that intersectionality is used to find combinations of injustices that are felt by members of society. For example, a black woman might face discrimination from a company that is not distinctly due to her race (because the company does not discriminate against black men) nor her gender (because the company does not discriminate against white women), but by a unique combination of the two.

Plenty of evidence on this sub if you look for it. England is literally trying to end prison sentencing for women.
Women should not be sent to prison and should instead serve community sentences, according to a new report by the Women's Justice Taskforce.
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-13666066
[–]CharityStreamTA -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
They're actually looking at ending sentencing for both men and women.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-46847162
Also, looking at the data it appears that women are more likely to be in for non violent crime, the majority of which is theft rather than more serious crime. An example of the differences is that TV licence evasion accounted for 36% of all prosecutions for women, but only 6% for men.
[–]WMASCC 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
when taking the 2 articles together it palys out like this:
men sentenced to 6 months or under get no prison. while all women do not go to prison at all. sure sounds like equality to me.
[–]CharityStreamTA 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Why on earth would you take both articles together?
The first article is almost a decade old, being from 2011 and it has resulted in the policies from the second article being pushed.
Taking both articles together gives you.
An initial push to end women's sentancing.
This push then results in an equal policy suggestion that affects both men and women.
Where's the problem there?

I wish they would shut up They will not shut up. They have no reason to. The more they complain about being oppressed, the more the government and cucks/simps/whatever will hurry to provide for them. they're brainwashed into an immaterial, ongoing existential crisis. it's programming. they won't shut up because they've been trained to know nothing else. And of course they know that the likelihood of a draft is minuscule and if it happened, the military would probably put women in non-combat roles anyway. I never once heard her talk about patriarchy or complain about being held down as a woman, though. She just did stuff. Ah okay. Tbh, your comment actually looked like what a feminist bitch would say.

Yeah like typical brigades.
This is an echo chamber of insecurities.
I like how this hitting r/all is not indicative of anything, but the handful of comments you cherry picked from this thread conveniently is.
Can you argue a point without having to make it personal?
Women are not out there to 'get you' (as in 'men'). Period.
You know when people criticize "feminism" they don't mean "all women everywhere".....since you needed that clarified.

and I never post here, so what?
LOL! I love how you spent the past few posts trying to claim you're a regular user here and just flat out admit you're lying, you're not very good at this.
if you really think upvotes matter as an indicator of validity, apparently you are not the brightest bulb in the box.
I know exactly how you brigaders operate because I managed to interrogate a few of you before and you were dumb enough to tell me everything. The only reason you even found this sub is usually because it popped up onto /r/All and you got triggered by the fact that people were openly criticising feminism on a growing subreddit. I point out the fact that this topic was upvoted because you people only ever pick topics like this to post on. Love you accusing me of not being bright when you didn't even get the point I was making.
So being the moron you are you decided to hop in with zero knowledge of the sub and for some reason pretend you know everything about MRAs ( More likely you did a google search and read a biased Vox article ) and that you were a long term user here and trying to spread a smear campaign that the sub is filled with incels and women hating when it obviously isn't.
The two big questions I have now is where do you people actually come from? Because it's obvious you're not posting with main accounts and then why do you even bother doing this when literally everyone even casual onlookers are onto your shit now and I'm going to find out who you are eventually the more you decide to post here?
I'm curious, what exactly do you think you're going to achieve? If your goal to try and convince the admins and pressure them into banning the sub by writing tons of fake shit here? If so that would make sense.
Edit: So I had a chat with the guy and we debated in private and it turns out he's not a brigader or anything but a lurker, I've edited the post at the end to reflect that and clarify some things.

this is another incel-infected woman-hate sub.

People like you are honestly scumbags that you can't see your own rank hypocrisy. You think it's oh so horrible to put others down and call for civility then decide it's totally okay to accuse people you've never met of being incels and women haters.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised you're brigading for this sub and trying to recruit for MensLib given your attitude, actually given how much you're lying you're probably posting with an alt-account and your main is with that sub.

I don't give a shit about empowerment or self-comfort, I give a shit about equal rights and feminism stands in the way of that. Criticism, is not 'putting others down' and you honestly come across as an incredibly naive and ignorant person if you think that criticising a movement that actively lobbies to take away men's rights and regularly bashes men isn't acceptable behaviour.
I guess I was wrong about you, you're not malicious, you just don't know where you are.

Why would the first thing we do is combat female violence and support male victims when 60% of domestic violence victims are female?

[–]Lethn 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago* (24 children) | Copy Link
I love this argument people like you bring across that we should just ignore male victims because there are less of them, that's not how it works, you do realise that 40% is still a big amount right? Even your own article is actually highlighting the problems men face as domestic violence victims, did you even read it?
[–]lucasjackson87 -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link
Nope, not saying that at all. I’m saying why would that be the first thing you ask when there are statistically less male victims than female?
I mean you list some pretty good points but that stat in your list is completely one-sided, which is the problems. You also don’t mention the fact that income is still not equal between male and female. Or the fact that women face far more sexual harassment on a daily bases then men.
If you truly want equal rights for both men and women? You want a world where you no longer feel threatened? Than you would admit to the fact that you’re a perpetrator as much as a victim; whether it’s intentional or not. Instead it sounds like you’re making it “us vs then” which just emboldens the bigotry each side is being accused of.
But fuck it, keep it up. Ignore the facts and keep with your agenda. Don’t ask anything of the men in this world, since you’re all clearly the only victims. I’m sure it’ll workout for all parties involved.
[–]Lethn 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link
You also don’t mention the fact that income is still not equal between male and female.
Did you just seriously reference the completely debunked pay gap and wage gap as an excuse to ignore male victims of domestic violence?
Or the fact that women face far more sexual harassment on a daily bases then men.
If you are seriously going to rant about the debunked 1 in 4 statistic you just lost all credibility but I'd be interested in seeing your source if only to satisfy my morbid curiosity.
Than you would admit to the fact that you’re a perpetrator as much as a victim; whether it’s intentional or not.
Oh great, another degenerate cultist who wants me to embrace the feminist religion in order to be saved from my toxic masculinity, fuck off, you do not get to accuse me of shit like that, ever. No amount of ideological fanaticism on your part will make it okay to go around randomly accusing men of causing harm to women so I repeat, you can fuck off.
But fuck it, keep it up. Ignore the facts and keep with your agenda. Don’t ask anything of the men in this world, since you’re all clearly the only victims.
Lets ignore genuine male domestic violence victims who get beaten up by their wives and girlfriends because women are bigger victims than men! Great logic there! No no stupid male, it doesn't matter that there are men out there who have gotten stabbed or beaten over the head and then they are the ones arrested when the police show up at the door because they don't take male domestic violence seriously thanks to people like you! No, let's just ignore it because women are the bigger victims even when they're not.
You are the one here ignoring the facts and you did it even with an article that points out the problems that male victims of domestic violence exclusively face. You are the one being the bigot here especially with the way you've already accused me of being a 'perpetrator' with zero evidence you annoying cunt.
[–]lucasjackson87 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link
Never said ignore it man, and your giant rant is further proving my point. You’re making this a one-sided war when there’s issues on both sides. The fact that you’re leveraging violence against men as an argument to the fact that more women are abused by men is a perfect example. I’m not saying ignoring it but by posting something that says women need to acknowledge that men are being abused as a requirement for them to want equality is bushing the fact that more women are abused in the US and globally completely under the table.
I challenge you to have have empathy for both sides, but it sounds like you’ve already downed half the cool-aid. In which case I don’t think there’s any fact that I can provide that will change your closed-minded opinion that men are the only victims here.
[–]Lethn 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
I love how you call for empathy and understanding on both sides then proceed to claim that I have to admit that I'm a perpetrator purely because I was born a man. This is why people hate feminists and refuse to have anything to do with them.
[–]lucasjackson87 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Currently feminist organizations are lobbying to remove all prison sentences for nonviolent women only, have successfully killed all attempts at shared custody reform, have created laws that treat men as the only gender capable of domestic violence and have done precisely fuck all on the draft.
So tell me, how do you know the majority of feminists don't think this way when all their organizations are saying the opposite. And even if they do what does it matter if their actions are totally different?

The point of this meme is to paint feminists as some logically inconsistent and disingenuous entity (when that's ironic coming from supporters of this sub). The reason I called it a strawman is because it's a generalization with no factual standing.

Congratulations, you found an article published by a site that talks about prison reform in general, focusing on women.
" Penal Reform International (PRI), in partnership with the Prison Reform Trust (PRT), has published a guide for prison and probation staff to help them understand how prison life can affect a person’s mental health, with a focus on women. The guide aims to break down the stigma and discrimination attached to poor mental health, especially for women in prison. "
I'm sure there's no way there's other groups out there looking to remove non-violent criminals from prisons for men too? Oh wait.
https://www.prisonpolicy.org/reports/pie2020.html
And congrats, you posted articles from a publication dedicated to helping battered women. Really telling, if you think the subset of services designed to help abused individuals represents the larger population as a whole.

No one who identified themselves as feminist has ever said anything like this. Bunch of whiny babies. Just like the feminist you complain about.
[–]Lethn 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Feminists have exclusively only ever opposed the draft for women, they don't give two shits about men otherwise they would have lobbied for it to be abolished entirely. The only reason they're even considering it now is because it's potentially going to get pushed through the government and take them down with men.
[–]semicharmed10010 -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Why aren’t men’s activist groups lobbying to end the draft? All they do is cry about it to stick it to so-called feminist and go on about their day.
But men’s activist groups really don’t care about men’s rights, do they? But that’s a whole other topic.
You're basing your whole opinion of MRAs on one thread, you know nothing.
[–]RockFourFour 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Why aren’t men’s activist groups lobbying to end the draft?
The NCFM (a men's activist group) has brought a lawsuit on the federal level, and won, to have selective service/the draft declared unconstitutional due to gender discrimination. It's still up in the air what this means:
-the ruling could be struck down at a higher level
-women could be forced to register
-selective service and the draft could be eliminated entirely.
