I'm genuinely curious about the partners people choose to marry. Perhaps we're the ones making the wrong choices or perhaps we have our own issues to address. My ex wasn't conventionally attractive, and when I see other parents at my kids' school, I notice a similar pattern. Many of them don't seem like people I'd want to date – they seem mean and, in some cases, are overweight. I wonder if people feel content with their choices. why are men marrying these kind of women! maybe they were different before?

My ex seemed smart and knowing what she wants from life, I thought even if things turn ugly, I would be better being with someone mature and intelligent! turn out the contrary, she was so unreasonable and greedy!
I chose my ex thinking that opting for someone less attractive would avoid potential problems like infidelity and drama. I hoped that by helping her improve her life, she'd appreciate the effort and reciprocate by being a good partner. However, she ended up being unappreciative and even falsely accused me in court, which could have had serious consequences if I hadn't had video recording to prove my innocence.
Now, I'm dating someone who is younger and more carefree, which has been a drama-free experience. She's always kind and makes me feel valued, she's literary like a kid just enjoying the moment and never think about drama and complicated stuff!, even though I bear the brunt of expenses. I'm contemplating whether this kind of relationship will eventually lead to the same issues as before. While I'm not considering marriage and prefer solitude, there may come a time when I'd like her to be a more permanent part of my life.
I'd love to hear from others about their experiences. Have you found yourself settling in relationships, whether it be with someone less attractive, someone who needed fixing, or someone stunningly beautiful? How has that worked out for you?
