How about no scale at all? Is it really that difficult to just say "cute" "very cute" "hot" "gorgeous" "cool" etc? The whole HB shit makes this sub look like a bunch of tools honestly. Wed be better off just dropping most of the pickup lingo because the game has been changing.

Basically this sub should just be for general mens dating talk/advice. The whole pickup subgenre is just a part of that and its been merging with more "mainstream" views lately.

First off, you can lose the attitude about mods and their scripture. That isn't how this subreddit is run, and the users know that.

The HB system is not reddits, it is pre-exisiting and used practically everywhere.

Are you saying mods should remove every post that has HB7 in it somewhere? because that kills like 90% of of the content.

I don't use the HB system myself, however I don't see a good way to force the community to adopt this change without some draconian censorship going on.

We hear this whine about the HB system about once a week. Sometimes the argument is well reasoned, usually not. And none of these arguments are effective, the system lives on.

Remember it's not HB for what a hot babe she is, it's HB for how hot a babe she thinks she is. The reason the system is "top heavy" is that it was created to differentiate 9s and 10s from other women. Higher social worth women are approached differently than others. There's no real point in using it except in that way. If you can't spot a woman's self-perceived value, you better start attuning yourself to it. She broadcasts it to everyone who sees her. If you're not sensitive to her self-perceived value, you locked out of her circle.

Though I have used it, I too think it's redundant. We talk a lot here about approaching women, and the best method is to not put them on a pedestal. But here we are rating them from hot to not.

C'mon. We all understand that there are girls that are prettier than others, but I think the sooner the HB ranking is gone the better. When it is gone I think Seddit will become what it should be: building a relationship with who you want, not what society tells us we should want.

I think the system is fine. Sure it's not the most tasteful, but if you're going to attack this community you have a plethora of better options.

The HB scale lets readers imagine a girl that fits the build and imagine themselves trying to pick her up. I find myself saying "I would not have the balls to do that if I saw a girl like that" or "Yea, I could do that".

Also it substitutes for names. I don't want to read FRs with "the cute girl with leggings and her friend the cute girl with a reddish brown ponytail". Sure we can just give them names for the story but as I said I think attractiveness is important to judge a FR.

Look we're trying to attract high quality women here, and a attractiveness plays the initial part in identifying high quality women.

If you want your system for objective looks to catch on, I'd start including them in your FRs and also maybe asking people how they'd rate the women in their FRs. If enough people agree that the information is relevant then your inquiry will be upvoted and likely answered

Not sure if someone mentioned this already but Mystery himself in his first book said (paraphrase) "no girl is less then a six as that is the minimum their ego will allow". It was a rating system for their own self worth, as hot girls GENERALLY are more self worth when it comes to being used to people hitting on them.

I like the system. I can brag with my friends and everyone be on the same page. Everyone rates attractiveness even married 80 year olds judge teenagers.

I think the HB system is good in retrospect (in field reports e.t.c) because it gives us an idea of how well that girl fits his idea of a perfect girl (IMO there is no such thing as a HB10) but if you are in field its bad because it distracts you from your original goal (increases AA, if she is a '10' then you may be tempted to 'pull out all the stops' and ultimately freak her out), as numerous PUA instructors have said its idolizing the girl or putting the pussy on a pedestal,

I would recommend a percentile score perhaps but only to be used out of field (in FR e.g. i K-closed a 73%),

and while we are on the subject of the state of this subreddit i think it could do with an overhaul,

this sub is supposed to be about pickup but pickup is such a diverse and changing field with many ideologies so if you dont want to use the HB scale then thats fine.

I personally find it quite usefulin assessing the difficulty of an interaction and consequently I keep using it but you do make a valid point when you say that its unquantifiable to that I think the answer should be that all of Pickup is subjective and so is attraction obviously we all have the same generic vectors such as youth and fertility but then there are other cued interests as well such as fetishes Ebony MILFs etc so there wouldnt be a way of standardising a single scale that everyone is going to agree with.

Ergo I propose we all just adapt the terminology to fit our own needs and dont worry about the "validity" of what will always be a flawed system

Me and my friends use an "A and B - system" to rate girls. And this system is only to rate her personality/character. "A"s are cool to talk to are fun to be with, move classy and understand your kind of humour etc (stuff you personally like) . "B"s are, well to keep things short, they are 'Mileys', unclassy girls (stuff you dont like)

We dont really rate looks. In the end appearance only makes you want to approach her, or not. Whether you find someone attractive or not is an easy yes-or-no question. When it's a 'yes' then you go and find out if she's an "A".

The HB scale to all intents and purposes (even though claimed not to be) is a means of judging a girls looks, before personality. How can you 'spot' and HB9 and judge her because of her own self worth and personality before you've even met her.

Until somebody comes up with a drastically different scale there's little need to change the current rating system.

3 digit system: First digit - 1 wouldn't bang, 2 would bang Second digit - 0-9 rating of face (9 the highest) Third digit - 0-9 rating of body. so a 100 is the lowest possible rating and a 299 is the highest. I used to be a lifeguard and this is what me and the other guys used to rate girls/milfs at the pool without the female lifeguards knowing what we were talking about. Called it the "Flow rate" system because if someone asked what we were talking about we'd say "The flow rates of the lazy river" (or slide whatever or surf machine whatever to change it up.)

There's no denying that there is a point to the rating system. As has been pointed out in this thread, it's more about a personality/confidence rating. It is relevant because the way a girl sees herself changes the tools a PUA should use with her. I agree that the HB (Hot babe) title sounds kinda douchey, but so does a lot in this sub. It comes with the culture. I mean I don't even think I would have called a girl a hot babe in highschool! But I digress. The system is there, and it serves a purpose. The title HB may sound stupid, but it's way too big an effort to chance it to something like a Self Worth (SW) scale.
