This is indicative of a very common psychological game we play with ourselves. The person has a problem, and there is a proposed solution. He can either run with the solution and see what happens, or argue against the solution. By arguing against it (and all other proposed solutions) he convinces himself that there is nothing he can do to fix the problem, and is therefor without blame.

Many people would rather have a shitty life they can't be blame for than live in a world where they can improve their lots but bear ultimate responsibility for their lives.

For the record and the naysayers, I'm about to enter into a relationship with a beautiful, intelligent girl that I have loads in common with. I kept her around by employing pickup tactics. Nothing fake or not genuine, but employable tactics. Namely, letting her know exactly how I feel (being direct), not changing who I am around her, and showing her that I'm a high value man.

On a related note, what if i actually am boring?

I have some issues on my own part, that i realize is all on me and that i'm working on (mostly a crushing level of insecurity), but i have a feeling that even putting that aside i'm just boring.

the usual response is something like "get a hobby" and "don't be afraid to do new things". Thing is i have plenty of hobbies, but most of them aren't exactly stuff to do/talk about when taking a girl out, and i'm always up for new stuff, but maybe not the greatest at coming up with stuff.

What do i do if i'm just plain boring?

I understand your sentiment, but for a time there was a bunch of seduction robots who never deviated from their "material" like a stand up comic who doesn't adjust his set for hecklers. They replaced lack of personality with this disjointed AMOG type routine. Sometimes it works, but mostly it just reeks of insecure guy going through a quarter-life crisis with a fedora and week-old tattoos.

Seduction and attraction are concepts meant to be permeable and mutable. I don't interpret a lot of what is written here as the gospel, I just try to apply what is universally attractive to women into the personality I already have (which honestly is attractive, maybe not applied for maximum effect though).

In other words, the opposite end of the spectrum is just as sad. Don't worry about other people. Do you.

So many guys forget to find ways to make things adapt well with who they are individually. When they try the things they read/hear, it doesn't feel like them at all, and it shows when they try it with others as well. This causes them to reject it because it "doesn't work." The real reason is that they didn't allow themselves to transform to a point where these qualities/characteristics are now a comfortable, natural part of them. Happens way too often, and not just for seduction.

I'll admit, when I first heard of Seddit, and read through some self posts that's kind of the way I felt. That this was just a place for guys to learn how to get chicks. A "Playbook" if you will, like Barney Stinson.

However, now. I love it. While there's still those posts and people with that focus, to get laid, there's so much to learn from each other about self acceptance and being the awesome self you really are behind all that fear and self doubt.

Don't hate on guys trying to get some ass, maybe that's what they need at the point in their lives. Doesn't mean that's all thats there.

Meaning comes from your goals, your passion, your life purpose, the things that you care about and dedicate yourself to. If you want to find a real connection, place your true purpose in the center of your life and then invite another person to share and celebrate that with you.

i needed this, i am not going to lie, i do have phases like this where i think exactly that way and end up not approaching women at all, it just acts as a barrier. When this happens, what i do is try to get back into the mindset of "having fun" and taking it lightly, this way i dont wonk overly hard to make the conversation successful and trick myself into actually taking to girls.

This subreddit helps you to have sexual relationships with women. Sexual relationships are the surest way to move to something with more meaning, i.e. a long-term relationship.

What you DO with a sexual relationship with a woman is up to you. You can choose to have meaningless one-night stands with tons of women, or you can choose to follow a path where you want something further with a specific woman.

But don't blame pickup for your inability to have a meaningful relationship with somebody. How well you get to the point where she wants to sleep with you has absolutely nothing to do with how well you relate to her as a person. Exactly. The seduction community isn't made up of misogynist monsters who only want to drop a load in an attractive hole. Most people started this stuff just because they wanted a girlfriend. When they achieve abundance in women then you can decide whether you want to settle down or keep meeting new people. You know, this whole subject is laughable. OP states we should make our own meaning to attract girls because they want to attach themselves to guys with meaning in their lives. And that girls don't want guys who are going to leach off them. Not OK for the guy to leach but the girl can. Makes a lot of sense. People leach off each other. My last relationship lasted for 3 years and I clearly remember leaching off her in the beginning.

What it comes down to is attraction. Many people on here say you can make a girl attracted to you or girls don't know what they want. Everybody, male/female, knows what they want. Girls are not a mystery, they're human.

Find a passion to keep you busy and if you're meant to find a meaningful thing, it will happen. It might not. It sucks to hear that and I don't relish saying it but that is life. She's looking for you too.
