There's no double standard. If you're an attractive guy, you're probably not going to date a girl who you don't find attractive. Same goes with women, generally.

It's also been my experience that attractive women DO date less attractive men, albeit rare, it happens. I know several who do.

Saying there's a double standard generalizes a whole gender's motivations, I don't think that's a fair assessment.

The type of women you're referring to sound like assholes. Considering themselves, "higher beings" based on their looks alone. They wouldn't be worth your time beyond a quick plow even if you were someone they'd date. Most attractive women don't consider themselves as "higher beings" though. Just because they want to date more attractive people does not mean they think themselves to be innately higher than you. It's just what they're attracted to. So if you see a girl that you consider attractive with a not so attractive guy, there is probably something about him that she finds incredibly attractive. Word of advice, spend less time thinking about what you don't have, and more time thinking about what you do, and how you can improve upon your own situation. Girls are girls man, there are plenty of them out there. You work on yourself and achieve some sort of socioeconomic success alongside some time spent at the gym (which one should visit regardless of whether they're trying to attract girls), you'll find those girls who considered themselves "innately higher beings" to be strewn across your bed. I don’t think there is a double standard. You date people you are attracted too and attraction is more than looks. Usually good looking people have high self esteem and are very confident. And have some decent social skills. They show this in their body language demeanor and swagger things that a person just senses without even talking to a person. All these things are seen as attractive to the opposite sex Whether male or female. You can use these to your advantage confidence, body language, and swagger even if you are not that good looking. As there are plenty of ugly men with beautiful women I mean look at Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Even myself I’ve seen some attractive men physically but they lacked confidence swagger and style and it was an instant turn off. Long story short confidence is key

You're conflating two different issues.

1) When girls say they "want to be seen and treated like normal people" it is short hand for "guys are acting weird around me by putting me on this pedestal and I don't like it." Which happens to men too, of course, but we're socialized not to bring it up.

2) All people are judged by the people they associate with. So if someone starts dating someone that others judge harshly, they will be judged harshly. If a girl dates down, other people who consider him "down" from them will judge her for being willing to do so. Not a good thing or a kind thing but a real thing none the less. This happens to men all the time, it's just a lot less socially damning for the man than it is for the woman, in general.

This seems pretty incel-y to me. I'm a pretty attractive guy, and if I consider myself out of a girls league I'm not going to flirt with them. If a girl is like a 6 but she's got a bunch of the same interests as me, I'll engage with her but probably more as friends. A 6 that has nothing in common with me, I will probably not be so inclined to develop any kind of relationship. How I treat people has nothing to do with looks, but who you act. You could be fat, smoke cigarettes, dress funny, whatever and as long as you're not an asshole I'll treat you with respect no matter what. That being said, I know I can get more attractive girls that have stuff in common with me, so that's usually who I go for. And my friends have stuff in common with me: active, social, outdoorsy, athletic, military, etc. That lifestyle leads you to be more in shape and outgoing which makes you more attractive. So a majority of my friends are attractive, as well as the girls we attract. No conspiracy to belittle people less attractive than us

Pretty woman always look for partners that are the same level or higher than she is, never lower. So, you will always see hot chicks with high status man (pretty, muscular, rich, funny) because she thinks he is the same level or above her, while ignoring other 100 man that don't match her standards. Man are a lot more open to this "level" difference, since it's the man's job to approach and set up the date, meaning his dating success depends on his capability to seduce and establishing confort. Is there a possibility that, simply because they are attractive, you perceive standard rejection as disdain? Sometimes we project how we feel about ourselves(in your case, possibly feeling “less than”) onto others and use it as either confirmation or fuel for an already low self esteem.

The fact is, women will always have more choice and have less reason to date someone considerably less attractive than them unless their personality is 10/10. They don’t even have to reject you nicely if they don’t feel like it because the choice is still theirs. Women mature faster physically, mentally too in most cases. Those that blossom earlier have an advantage. I can be sympathetic to this post as i definitely do know girls who have this attitude but it honestly seems more like an immature way of boosting one’s own self-esteem by self-proclaiming to be a certain degree of attractiveness. I think possibly it is about a nuance as you suggested and that being its not that this “type of guy” isnt attractive enough but maybe gives off unattractive energy, something important in first appearances.
