I think you need to give some reasons WHY you think they'd have been more successful than the men. If you feel the summaries are biased against the women, how about making your own cut that shows them in a better light.

Based on literally nothing. Bear Grills said that because anything that makes women look even slightly bad will make women throw a hissy fit and their feelings need to be massaged constantly to avoid a freak out. Man was just avoiding cancelation.

Oh yeah definitely. Those women were just about to turn the corner and start getting along and doing the work. I liked it when the women just started hanging out at the male camp, uninvited, refusing to leave because their camp was such a disaster. Then started vandalizing the male camp (against the rules of the show) demanding the men give them stuff to fix up their camp.

It was like watching 100,000 years of social conditioning playing out.

It's a fun watch, because the women actually due end up winning the show, which tells you something. I think the women lost every mental and physical challenge in the show, but as their numbers dwindled they just flirted with some of the less attractive men and got them to vote with them to vote off the stronger men. Then as soon as they had numbers they voted off the remaining men.

They didn't successfully do anything other than convince some of the men that they had a connection. The show never aired because the producers feared it would portray misogynistic stereotypes.

Time and time again there is always a survival show that pits men Vs women, this isn't a concept worth over thinking given it is reality tv but to counter your claim, there was a Dutch Survival show called Expeditie Robinson, and on one season it pitted again a team of women Vs men. I won't go into all the details you can look them up yourself but suffice it to say, the women society they created was so poorly done they had to eventually ask the men for help as the men had created a functional society, delegated work, and even built a BBQ or something I can't remember.

Regardless, I don't believe that anything on these shows isn't done just for the shock as most Americans flock to it because of their utterly boring, miserable lives, but to state that if women were in charge is going to bring about a totally utopian society or even have that inkling, is rooted in fallacy. Same for men too.

I kinda discount those videos because other episodes neither gender did well. All you need to know about how things will go is visit an actual matriarchal society, like the Musuo in China. Their homes are made like utter crap except when foreigners come and build stuff for them.

Separatist women in other countries flee men and they have the same issue - shoddy shelters, often mud huts.

A better place to live than a male-made city... except when a windstorm, earthquake or a lion comes by...

Those women would have literally died had they not been given multiple bailouts by the cast and crew.

I believe they'd have sorted it out and been more successful than the males in the long run.

You can believe whatever you want, the facts are that the women were floundering the whole time whereas the men figured their shit out.

The only thing they would have done in the long run was what they were starting to do and what women have been doing since the beginning of time when life gets hard - leverage their gender for access to the things men built.

If he let that circus go on without interference, he'd have come back to women fucking for fish and fire.

While I disagree with your take on this experiment, I also don't think the failure of the women featured on this show is indicative of anything about women as a whole. I have seen enough Alone (basically like Bear Grylls' own show, except they don't have a large staff to wait on them hand and foot) to see that women can survive pretty much as well as men. It's all about the individual.

Women in general? Or women on the show. Generally it seems men are far more likely to enjoy bushcraft and survival skills as a hobby, so selecting from a generic sample it feels like the men should do better. Men in general tend to be a bit more physically capable so that would tilt it in their favor as well.

But we are talking about lots of variance if you were to select similar cohorts from each sexual demographic.

Bro the amount of times the crew had to help the women while the men were doing fine on their own. The women were starving, thirsty one of them had to be taken off the island for medical reasons. They were given a pig they can use for food and instead used it as a pet. I guess you are just very delusional because the women were struggling.

Uhh how do you think the men and women both had equal footing and the same gear? The women had rain coat, parkas, and boots. The men had no coats, no parkas, and no shoes. They were wearing shoes they scrounged up from debris if any at all.

Maybe it's not scripted but a key component of producing reality TV is choosing the right people for entertainment. Normal, average, competent people are not fun to watch. Hot crazy dumb women are fun to watch.

Bear Grills is a good example. He's not a real survivalist, he's just a dumb guy sticking his hand into wasps nests and drinking his own piss. The reality was fun though.

The other guy's show, Les Strout, who was a real survivalist, was boring in comparison, because his main objective was surviving, not being entertaining.

If people are arguing that women are dumb just because they saw it on a reality show then I feel sorry for them
