I don't know how familiar you all are with feminist/leftist/academic spaces discussing gender, but this is something that is pretty common in such circles.

These people think that gender essentialism = bigotry, just like racism. That's basically it.

Gender essentialism means that women and men are innately different in some ways to noteworthy degrees, and looking at human behaviour through that lens. The specifics don't matter. They think ideas like these are bigoted and harmful.
